This update doesn’t add I WANNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE to my XMB start-up, nor adds the game itself to my PS3.
Lame.
I wish all you cry baby whiners would stfu and stop complaining about something that isn’t affecting you in any way what so ever. I wish Sony would start charging for these “improve playback quality”updates so you little children can have something real to complain about. THX FOR THE UPDATE GUYS
These are the worst updates ever, stop wasting time with dumb stuff.
Honestly I’m known for being the biggest PS3 pusher SOny. I have a free JTV page called AntDaGamer’s PS3 TV. All I DO IS DEFEND & DEFEN GUYS TO MAKE & UPDATE LIKE THIS TO MAKE ME LOOK STOOOOOOOOOOPID!!!

rockband one guitar wont play smash hits now but works on xmb. this is a kinda hinderince because i play all my music games with it.

this also wont play rockband 1 with the rockband controller now. this is a serious bug.

Have you every had you PS3 get brick because of one of these “useless” update that we know very little about? If not, then S T F U. Many people have had their PS3 brick during the installment process from these “useless” updates including myself. And it affect me and my wallet. $164.08 to be exact to send it in to Sony for repair.
Battlefield 1943 this Thursday. Make it happen.

It is unfair to blame Eric for these matter because he is part of a group that work on these firmware. However, we do not know how involve he is with these firmware and should take some of the blame because he is the one that post about upcoming PSN updates.

i’m fine with announcing and providing these minor improvement updates, but what upsets me is, what most others are saying, the two sentences. Come on SONY, would it really be THAT bad to tell us exactly WHAT these improvements are? “Improves the playback of some Playstation format software.” Yeah. Okay. Why do I need to waste my time downloading this again? Maybe i would remember if you would actually tell us WHAT software is improved and HOW it has been improved.
Guys, don’t complain about minor updates on a FREE network. That’s not the problem here. The problem is not providing a loyal consumer base with legitimate information.

Lempel – how about telling us exactly what it means when you say “improve the playback of some PS3 titles” you’ve used that a couple of times now, I’d like to know exactly what that means.

Future update suggestions:
Better on-screen keyboard (replicate the Danzeff OSK found here: http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=23876)
Ability to reorder downloads in download manager
More video shortcuts via controller (L2 & R2 = Skip forward & Skip back)
All system dialogues should default to “Yes” choice not “No”. And move “Delete Complete” and “Install Complete” to upper corner notifier
Ability to easily add files to a folder grouping in XMB… annoying having to type in group title to each individual file
The browser should auto-zoom the text field when entering data.
When your deep in XMB menus (especially on media server directories) holding left should back you out of the menus to the root xmb category and stop there.
Controller battery indicator should not appear over date and time
Another mystery update. I wonder if the sceners found a hole in the current firmware or if this will fix my wacky textures in inFamous. It’s disconcerting when the concrete barrier textures stretch all the way across the screen.

I think people are more piss at the fact the they do not response to us to let us know what is going on with the feature we requested.
I personally think they do not play attention to the user request. Why? Look at the batter and Clock issue when you brig up the XMB during a game. People have been complaining about that since the in-game XMB was implemented on the PS3 OS. But they have yet to fix that issues people have been having. How hard is it to change the X and Y axis for either the batter display or timer display?

I am still hoping they make better music visualizers with option because sometimes u get so into and then it changes.
The PSP has nice visualizers but only u see them, the PS3 is great for groups but it only has 3 (irony)(would be good download content). Another cool thing would be Music organization sorta how there is the “Photo Gallery” now. Also multiple settings for internet connections since sometimes I move it from Wireless main floor to wired in my room.

What games? I love firmware updates but wish the explanation for the “improved game playback” ones would let us know, at least on major titles included.
how about putting back the firmware for resuming a bluray movie. Its annoying when u have to stop a movie half way through and then have to skip threw it again to find the part you were left at

Yo guys, this update majorly fixed the online stability. I usually get kicked off when playing Cross Edge or any time I am not actively doing something online. Since the update went live, I am yet to be kicked off or receive any kind of network error. :-)

Oops at multi-post. :-( Thought I was having a problem on my end. Turns out it is the site that isn’t refreshing as fast as usual. Feel free to erase three of those please Eric.
I am getting soooo sick of these “minor” updates that don’t add anything new to the console but take forever to DL. How about you just pop full-fledged update out there 2-3 times per year instead of every damn month.
I certainly hope this one is a voluntary update and not necessary to access the store and online play. I’m sure I will be disappointed though.

How many pages do you actually think they read in before getting bored with the lack of creativity used in throwing tantrums? I’m betting three pages. It’s pretty much all the same.
