News in Hollywood travels fast!
I am happy to confirm that it is indeed true, Sony Computer Entertainment has signed a deal with Columbia Pictures for a movie adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and it will be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner. We have been working with Avi and the folks and Columbia for quite some time and look forward to sharing additional details on the film in the short future. Obviously we designed the game to be a cinematic experience and we too can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
So, who do you think should play Nathan Drake?
Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice. The guy is a flexible actor, and wouldn’t cost a fortune to get.
Anyone who is suggesting someone besides Nathan Fillion clearly hasn’t seen Firefly/Serenity. He’s really a perfect fit, both physically and vocally, I actually thought he voiced Drake for a while. His acting would be perfect too, he can easily do the sarcasm, seriousness, and great one-liners that make up Drake’s character.
Obviously Nolan North would be great but I doubt that would swing in Hollywood. So I think Nathan Fillion would be perfect; if anyone could pull off Nathan’s wise cracking remarks as naturally it would be him.

I saw that the story will be the same… It would be nice to have a new story so I wouldn’t know what to expect, but with Avi Arad working on it, I’m sure it’ll still be excellent :)

You get the ACTORS who did the game (plus their exact voices) to do the movie and not some detached from reality Hollywood superstars who don’t know $#@! about video games. DONE.
I believe Nolan North should do it. For that matter, all of the original cast should do it.

Please don’t screw this up like the many other video game movies crap. This is my favorite game of this generation.
The story is there. All you need are some good actors and a good director. And by good director I mean a great director. If I hear Uwe Bowl or whatever his name is I quit Sony.

Nathan Fillion, no doubt. Are you going to tell me you didn’t design the character with Capt. Reynolds in mind? Hell, you even brought the composer from Firefly!
Nathan or some Unknown dude. Stick to the same composer, and be involved in the writing process and this movie should rock.
Nolan North should play Nathan. The voice makes that character.
100% Nolan North. I mean the guy gave that game some polish, I think he deserves it, and to have the same voice in the film would be great, maybe even get all the main game people to act? (Though I think sully is not old?)

I really consider videogames the evolution of storytelling, the fact of having control over the character submerges you into the story even when it stinks.
Uncharted is a great game and making it a movie was a step back.
As an example you have the Silent Hill movie, the games are amazingly awesome and non-gamers who never played them and saw the movie now think it’s “just a crappy videogame as all other videogames”. Movies made from videogames should not be done as they only make fun of a new and superior newly-born form of art.
Think about this: movie studios don’t want to lose customers who prefer playing games, so these studios hire the worst filmmakers or begginers to make crappy movies and make videogames look bad. Please don’t fall into that. Look how the Silent Hill franchise quality was affected after the movie.

Guys this is easy and they better cast him and that is Chris Pine.Who was Captain Kirk in Star Trek he showed the personality the ability to do action not to mention he looks like Drake and is right Age.

without question, Nathan Fillion… same build, same look, very similar voice, similar sense of humor… when i first played the Uncharted game, i thought he was the voice actor… everything about Drake tells me Fillion would be the perfect choice..
and if anyone had not seen the Firefly series(cut short, unfortunately) or the movie Serenity, should watch them and see how well he fits in that role..
