- Universal Game Invites and Join Session Button(XMB)
- Voice Mail and Private Voice Chat in-game
- Add OPTIONAL sound for notifications(sign on, new messages,etc.)
- symbols and numbers that show friends online and new messages on the XMB and beside message box
- Auto Sync Trophies
- More developed profiles + mentioned options on profiles(refer to image below)
- Report feature to report issues and stuff
- Faster loading in-game XMB and profiles
- When you receive a message you should be able to push the PS button
for it to automatically pop up as long as the notification is still
there
- More Avatars
- XMB for movies, browser and PS2

Sony if you forgot the PS3 main attaraction is gaming, so concentrate on that. Add new avatars at least. How hard can that be? ps3 staff fail

Eric, the tech detail provided is just brutal and quite honestly quite insulting. Should something happen when I apply this MANDATORY update, I have no recourse to try and figure out what to avoid or what may be the cause. Could you imagine a company such as MS, Apple or RIM release an update and not provide any tech details? No one in their right mind would touch this yet it’s forced on us? This is pathetic customer service and pathetic marketing. At least by giving users the details and the OPTION to upgrade or not (or wait a wait to see if an of the early adopters had trouble) you take away some of the responsibility for bricking a unit away from Sony and in the hands of end users. Seriously, really embarrassing marketing and customer experience. Luckily MS has such crappy hardware (but handled the fallout extremely well)

Did you guys at least add new avatars? If not You guys suck. It took 2-3 years to get psn cards, how much longer do we need to wait for new avatars. Again you guys are terrible. I see that adding new pictures is to challanging to the sony staff

it sucks ballz when you have over 100 psn pals and they continously are going offline/online.
all i want to see are notifications when i get new messages. thats all. i don’t care if john2934 is online or not. :)

I do not know which division is worse for Sony. Their Firmware department or their marketing department. Sony keep putting these outstanding games on the PS3 only be held back by their marketing team. Sony has the best system on the market only to be held back by their firmware team. Sony need to shake up these two department.

I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that the reason why we don’t have cross game voice and video chat yet is due to PSN population base. Perhaps they are waiting for a certain PS3/PSN user base threshold to be reached before releasing such features? A higher # of PS3 owners would mean more revenue coming in to pay for such network broadband demanding services like cross-game chat. It’s just a guess.
