You guys should look into giving away this stuff with other games eg. If you buy the ghostbusters game you get these cotumes free via a code. That would encourage people to buy both games. Since its published by Sony it wouldn’t have been to hard. This should happen for all first party releases by Sony, you get LBP costumes with the game. (It would also mean more people buy the game new)

They should make levels for us to play with these costumes even if they are small. Id pay for them.

Be patient guys… MM has stated that making new levels is high on their priority list, they want to make sure they are top notch and better than anything we’ve seen so far. When the new levels do come, they will likely include new, game-changing tools for us to enjoy, So be patient..they’ll get here eventually. In the meantime just be happy MM continues to add new content to the game almost EVERY WEEK.. What other game does that???

I had outside hope that given the multiple Mm blogs hyping the LBP ghostbusters DLC, that it might actually be worthwhile (i.e. level pack).

It becomes more and more apparent that this kind of DLC provides the best value for Mm, but not the customer. I’ve never purchased skins which have zero impact on gameplay, and don’t plan on buying now.

It’s somewhat encouraging that there’s at least quotes floating around the internets that Mm is at least hearing the messsage that level packs are what gamers want.

Incidentally I’d be curious to see how much sales of these skins have fallen off since launch. I’m sure that they continue to make money for Sony/Mm, but the objections to the maximum profit/minimum content concerns from customers seems to have increased sharply in the last few months.

Final Fantasy VII costumes would be awesome. I’m not paying $6 for 4 costumes and a couple stickers though it’s just too much. I love LittleBigPlanet but it needs a couple more official map packs. Also PS3 needs a price drop and cross game voice chat but thats besids the point.

Why are you guys crying for levels from MM? Whats wrong with the billion of user generated levels out there? Seriously, you must not get it. Making level packs takes time. Take the Metal Gear pack for examplae,I’m pretty sure MM had to watch/play Metal Gear too get the theme, level, gameplay too get the pack the way it is. Also what would you want,Levels that MM made that could be completed in less than 30 mins? Which is exactly why MM should ignore all you level wanting whores and add new tools and gameplay mechs. In example,Online create mode which is currently in beta, the sticker cutting tool, image importing ect. All that stuff is in development. I say I’d want those features instead of measly levels.

+ IceCreamBandit on July 13th, 2009 at 11:56 am said:

seriously, what i’m tired of is everyone crying about a lack of level packs. if/when a new one comes out it will be awesome i’m sure, but as-is there is so much more than you need in game already to make absolutely epic levels.

there’s nothing in the game that you can’t make yourself. the stickers alone make this totally worth the price. take a giant slab of cardboard, slap a slimer sticker on it, cut it out with the corner editor, animate it as a creature or attach it to a string, give it crazy sounds, make it lethal with green gas, hook it up with an emitter that shoots things at your sackboys, make it chase them around, give it one of the health switch things, plop in a paintenator, use your imagination a little, and you’ve got yourself an instant boss fight.

there’s enough stuff to create a fun level and scenery. it’ll be great when a new one comes out, but you’ve got more than you need to make the game infinitely more fun than anything else out there with insanely more replay value.

75

+ IceCreamBandit on July 13th, 2009 at 11:57 am said:

i personally don’t think a new level pack needs to come out until all of the current resources are exhausted. with as many levels as their are created now, there’s still so much more that can be done.

p.s. costumes are awesome. if you seriously have a hard time paying basically what you would pay for a #1 at Burger King to get 4 costumes and awesome stickers that you’ll have forever (don’t make me remind you what you eventually do with the burger/fries/drink that you spent $6 on at BK), then just don’t download it and play levels made by other people who have.

if everything came out at once, we’d get burnt out and you know it…

chill out, get creative, and stop complaining.

cheers,

ICB

Wow. All that hype for more overpriced costumes and stickers?

Sorry, I FINALLY sold Little Big Planet last week. Level creation took entirely too long and way too complex, user generated levels got old quickly (the quality was hardly there and the “rewards” were non-existent), reports of item boxes having “limits” really turned me off to exploring (what’s the point if I’m going to be limited on what I can use?) and this endless amount of paid DLC is a turnoff at best (and I totally get the “don’t like it, don’t buy” argument – it’s still a turn off).

I think I agree with everyone here. If MM spent more time developing new level packs to download versus an endless stream of stupid costumes and stickers, this game would have been a thousand times more “sticky” for me. That said, I dumped $6 for Metal Gear Solid pack and STILL never played the new levels. Not saying much for a game I found exhilerating the first couple weeks of ownership. Instead, it quickly collected dust and finally went to GameStop for a trade-in.

Better luck next time.

Oh and BTW MM always supports LBP. With costumes MM (IMO) is trying to reach a oal with having the most content EVER,but thats just me. Like I said there are much more better things on the way then levels. since you guys seem to think all the community levels are crap I’ll list some that are amazing. Hopless fate5,Future Warzone,Charlie the unicorn,The icecream place,Desert survival,Death Rail,Sci-Fi world 3,1 and 2,Test subject1 and 2,Moving parts amd much more.

Chuck, I know I bugged you about merchandise in your Patapon shirt post, but here I go again. I’m a beer-loving geek at heart, and my casual clothes show it.

Will the US ever get a chance to buy, or even win, plush Sackboys?

I wanted one myself, and now my wife is pregnant and one would be awesome for the baby, but I am even having trouble finding them from import sites like Play Asia now. I didn’t try to get them imported when we had the chance because on February 9th we were told they were coming.

It would be nice to know if I should start searching eBay.

when you guys came out with the metal gear solid pack i bought it in ten seconds. i thought to myself YES ! this is what they are going to do with lbp. i thought devs from other games like resistance 2, uncharted, naruto ultimate storm and others would mess around and make some lbp levels just like the Metal gear LBP levels.

It is a bit overboard for costumes without any levels or gameplay changers like the paintenator. My question is: will there ever be anymore levels made by real developers of other games to LBP?

just think about how fast i bought the metal gear lbp pack. if there were a killzone 2 level made by guerilla games with new challenges we would be all over it, dont ya think?

This comes from the heart:
As much as I want to support LBP by buying DLC, it’s almost a burden. Especially considering, on the rare occasion I get a $20 Network Card(woop-de-doo), a good set of ‘premium’ costumes will run me as much as a new game. In that case, LBP no longer garners my money. But I’ll speak for my purchases.
I’ve bought a few items of DLC(regretably haven’t gotten the MGS stuff yet!). ICO Pack did good to add sound effects, and I love the music and content of the Monsters pack. I’ve bought a few premium costumes, but am sad to see there’s not as much ‘original’ stuff. I commend the creator pack, which was great support(and free). However, 8 original costumes to 50+ premiums is not a good direction. Please consider.

+ Miles514 on July 13th, 2009 at 7:42 pm said:

Those are some great suggestions. And the theme song with the pack would be really cool. Hopefully MM will add this last second.

+ CantaloupeKing on July 13th, 2009 at 8:48 pm said:

I rarely bother to post, but I do have a few

–Random Ideas–
-1 More original costume packs. It’s good to have wide appeal at a lower price than ‘premium’. I’m thinking…Dinosaurs, Robots, Insects(I’d be sold on a bumblebee, or a mantis), to ponder briefly.
-2 Sticker packs + costume (vs. Costume packs plus stickers). Some varied original stickers, maybe they inspire a funky new costume to mingle with them.
-3 Decoration love, too. They’re every bit as fun as stickers, and hilarious to stick on other sackpeople. The Monster pack proved they have a place in level kits, but they’re always welcome!
-4 Lower prices. I don’t mean to trample on MM’s livelihoods, but even the premium costumes I want are too much. Deviate! Experiment with 50 cent and 25 cent increments. Maybe $2 and $1.50 premium costumes would entice people to try more.

Sorry for being so not-Ghostbusters, I just really look forward to more LBP.
