Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! and Mana Khemia 2

Nao Zook's Avatar Posted by Nao Zook on Jul 14, 2009 // PR/Marketing Coordinator, NIS America, Inc

Hello everyone!

Today, I wanted to remind you that Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? will be available on PSN this Thursday, 7/16!

As I mentioned before, we have a website for you guys to share Badman strategies with each other, called Dungeon Strategies. There are some pretty good strategies on the site already. If you are stuck playing the full version of Badman, you can check out others’ strategies. And, don’t be afraid to ask any questions on the site, either. We made this site to give you all a place to help each other to beat Badman!

Also, we have posted Badman gameplay videos on the official Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! website. Just click the “Specials” icon, and you’ll see video clips for stages 1 to 5. Just reading about Badman’s gameplay might make it hard to picture what exactly this game is all about, so I hope you take a moment to watch this video for a better idea! And, believe me, watching how Badman plays and playing it yourself are totally different stories!

Let’s talk about Mana Khemia 2 now!

Mana Khemia 2 - Premium Cover

I won’t make this too long, so please stick with me.

Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy will be released on August 25th for the PlayStation 2 system. Because of the huge support from our fans, we decided to make a premium box for this title. It will come with a soundtrack and a poster (dual print). The back of the poster contains 2 different works of art, so it’s like getting 3 posters in 1!

Mana Khemia 2 contains 2 different main stories. There are two main characters, Raze (male) and Ulrika (female). When you start the game, you’ll have the option of choosing which story you want to play with first. And after playing your first pick, you can play the other story, carrying all the items you collected in the previous story. That’s pretty sweet, right?

The basic story line is — The setting is about 15 years after “Mana Khemia.” Al-Revis Academy has been known for producing most of the world’s greatest alchemists. However, it’s been having a difficult time lately. The number of Mana is decreasing for unknown reasons in the world. As an alchemic school, Al-Revis Academy has been decaying because of this phenomenon. In order to survive as a reputable school, the Academy has added new curriculum, such as combat, government and law. Even though some people had negative feelings about this change at first, the number of applicants has increased each year. And because of the amount of time that has passed, there is a new cast of characters for you to meet and interact with, along with a few returning characters in faculty roles.

Mana Khemia 2 - Raze Mana Khemia 2 - Ulrika

The story revolves around two characters, Raze and Ulrika. Raze is a combat student, who was dragged into enrolling at the Academy by Lily. Raze’s parents died when he was young, so he had lived with his grandfather. After a few years, Raze’s grandfather could no longer take care of him, so Raze moved in with Lily’s family as their servant. Raze doesn’t really like Manas because something bad happened in his past which involved a Mana. His blade skill is very advanced, thanks to his grandfather’s teachings.

Ulrika is an alchemy student. She was given a Mana egg by an old man a long time ago, and that egg hatched into Uryu. Ulrika is always optimistic, cheerful, and happy, however she has trouble getting along with Raze because of his dislike of Manas.

Whether you choose Raze or Ulrika at the beginning of the game, you still interact with the other characters throughout the story. Sometimes Raze and Ulrika are rivals, and sometimes they will work as a team.

Here is the promotional trailer!

Thank you very much for reading as always!

Have a great day.

Best regards,

I’ve been eagerly awaiting Last Rebellion and saw it had a release date for this year on Gamefly, but now is listed as TBD. I was wondering if it will still be out this year? Or can you give an estimated release date you guys are shooting for?

    Hello Dustinwp,
Thank you for your interests in Last Rebellion. It will be released in Japan later this year. So, hopefully we can shoot for next summer or so, but not has been set yet.

I’ve been hearing about Disgaea 3 trophy patch also on the 16th. Is this just a rumor?

Also, is it trophies and Home items or just the trophies?

    Hello tearsofash,
Disgaea 3 trophy will be available on July 16th. Please note that your saved data cannot be used once you download the trophy. If you want to keep your saved data, please do not download the trophy.
As for the Home items, we\’re working on it right now, and they should be available later this year.

Still cannot find Cross Edge in store. Most stores received about 3 copies so far and most of the time, they were taken by store clerks.

I hope Mana Khemia 2 won’t do the same, I need an RPG.

@ Jack-Bauer-89
not sure if nis america has a say in what nis europe will release in europe from a pv UK pv for Disgaea 3 it seems to be with square-enix eu (not sure on square-enix’s true role due to the fact they put their logo in the pv where state side altus’s logo doesn’t show up in the us pv) and they where using the japanese version of the game and not the us version of the game for the pv. which was really strange. here in the states altus distributes the games for NIS America from the copyright (c), publishing right(P), trade mark TM, licensing, and legale info on the back of the box

@Nao Zook

1) Any news on Last Rebellion? Release window?

2) Are there any plans to release Trinity Universe in the US?

3) Will NISA be localizing Atelier Rorona?

4) Does Mana Khemia 2 have widescreen support and/or progressive scan option?

5) Is it at all possible for NISA to localize The Last Remnant since SE has decided not to?

Can’t wait for the Disgaea 3 trophies this week and the Cross Edge DLC! Please keep the PS3 RPGs coming! Thanks Nao!

I Love you NIS & NISA, any updates on those PS3 games? Last Rebellion, Trinity Universe, and Altelier Rorona?

+ clupula668 on July 14th, 2009 at 2:31 pm said:

I initially had no interest in MK2, but after enjoying Cross Edge, I’m anxious to see Raze and Lily’s story. Ah, if only you had the rights to do a Darkstalkers RPG… lol.

Anyway, all my questions have already been asked (Last Rebellion update, Trinity Universe and Atelier Rorona localizations, will we have to start over with the Disgaea 3 trophies), so I’ll just say thank you for supporting PS2/PS3 owners, like myself, who would otherwise be seen as a niche market. Thank you. You keep putting out the great exclusives, I’ll keep buying them. :)

+ Shadowchasers on July 14th, 2009 at 2:37 pm said:

Yay! Now only if Sony will hurry up and restore Backwards Compatability to ALL Ps3 owners, so I can grab this game and play it without having to play musical wires!

Sounds like a fun game!

Thanks, Tengaport. credit goes to my writer Adam ‘TideGear’ Milecki.

I have to disagree with Gamestop, the game’s not really unpredictable, but rather you influence certain behaviors.

As Adam points out, short corridors are the way to go. Until he discovered that, it did seem a bit difficult.

OMG, Please can you guys start working on PS3 games. Unless Sony is planning on making the PS3 BC with PS2 games in a FW update, I can’t get this game. And It’s a real shame because I love your games.

My PS2 isn’t working anymore and I don’t want to buy another, PLEASE START WITH PS3 GAMES!!!!!

OMG TELL ME UR PORTING THAT TO PS3. if not now in the near future. ps3 has been lagging behind in the number of rpgs to the xbox. its UNACCEPTABLE. part 3 by 2012? or remake by 2010?

I will definitely be picking up both games, especially Mana Khemia 2 after playing Cross Egde, got a Lily has intrigued me as I have a little thing for those tsun tsun dere dere girls if you know what I mean, lol.

Also, I expect some news on Last Rebellion, Trinity Universe, and Ateleir Rorona. I want to know if its worth my money or not to just import them if you guys have no plans on localizing them. I already got burned before by importing a game and then having a version announced for my region afterward as I already own Badman and what would be Badman 2.

But anyways, thanks for the Update and keep posting on the blog!

Mana Khemia 2 may be a purchase from me too… it would be day 1 purchase if it was on PS3 or PSP though. You guys did the first on PSP I just recently played it, why didn’t you do this game simultaneous with the psp? well I got a ps2 a few months ago anyway as I don’t have bc on my ps3 and skipped ps2 after ps1 ended for pc only. I am really enjoying all the rpgs.. but we need them desperatly on the ps3! PLEASE!

and thanks again for bring a trophy patch and all the content for Disgaea 3 and cross edge! One last thing, When is the release date for DIsgaea 2 portable? PLease let us know!

+ triple_lei on July 14th, 2009 at 5:27 pm said:

I see afdgsfdgnb is still hanging around with his rude and impossible demands.

I guess he wants NIS America to LOSE more money by having retailers stock the less-than-a-handful of UMDs copies (it’s not exactly another overhyped Final Fantasy game here), and he’s willing to pay the inflated prices for worn-out copies on eBay as a result of this rarity.

The rest of us will have cheaply and easily downloaded the game. It’s only 43 MB… hardly enough to fill a CD, let alone a DVD.

+ Jeigh on July 14th, 2009 at 5:59 pm said:

So… Downloading that trophy patch basically DESTROYS any and all effort, characters and equipment!? Making it so that old save files can’t earn trophies is one thing, but making the hundreds of hours completely unusable is complete sh–… You couldn’t just have them converted to the new file type?

Well, I didn’t really give a damn about the trophies in the first place and it’s pretty much impossible for the devs to make this kind of mistake again.

+ Nao Zook on July 15th, 2009 at 6:44 pm said:

    Hello Jeigh,
It was not a mistake of the developer. The game itself was developped without the trophy system, and they did try to make it work with the old saved data, but it was just impossible. We all know it really sucks to lose all the data, but we still decided to release this patch because we wanted to give a choice to our fans.

+ BlooodyCow on July 14th, 2009 at 6:02 pm said:

Since you guys are working on a new RPG on the PS3, I have 2 suggestion.

1)Please keep it as an JRPG and not try to make it was a Western RPG

2)Please no more 2D. Can you try to at least make a 3D game with up-to-date graphics. It does not have to be Uncharted 2 graphics, but more like WKC graphics. PLEASE, no more 2D :)

Anyway, keep up the good work and can you guys try to port Tales of Vesperia if NamcoBandai does release it on the PS3 in the United States? I do not want to buy the xbox 360 version because the PS3 version is the complete version.
