This Thursday, July 16th, will bear witness to a tremendous content update in the ever-growing world of PlayStation Home. In fact, there’s so much set up to go down in-world this week that we can barely fit it all in without breaking our word count agreement. So to keep things cool with our friends here over at the PS Blog, we’ll cut out the regularly-scheduled blabbing and get straight to the point.
We think you’ll be stoked to see that the long-awaited BUZZ! HQ is launching. Here, you can meet up with friends new and old and take part in a massive 64-player game of BUZZ! trivia. This content is fed into the space via MyBuzzQuiz.com – a site where you can create your own trivia questions for your fellow BUZZ! fanatics to tackle. So be sure to create an account and start uploading your trickiest trivia. Then get your butt into Home, hook up with your brainiest peeps, enter the BUZZ! HQ, and start racking up the prizes. Rest assured that we’ll be taking advantage of this sweet new space by regularly scheduling some truly awesome events. Keep your eyes on the Home Clubs and Events sub-forum over at PlayStation.com for more info.
EA SPORTS continues to demonstrate their leadership in the world of sports competition by updating their fan-favorite EA SPORTS Complex. This week they are dropping some new goods on us and opening up a space for their hit Fight Night franchise. This swanky boxing-themed night club space launches with an interactive DJ game, rewards, and plenty of places to chill with your nearest and dearest Home-boys and Home-girls. Note that this is just phase one of the Fight Night space (there are tons of mini-game updates and the new virtual items scheduled for near future deployment) so you’ll need to make sure that you check in on this here blog for the latest updates.
Those of you who pick up the Namco Museum Essentials from the PlayStation Store will find that these games are unlocking a bunch of rewards in Home. We’re talking Dragon Spirit and Xevious: Resurrection arcade cabinets, for Crom’s sake! And, yes, the Namco Bandai Arcade will be coming to SCEA Home at a later date, so have no fear. We’ll keep you updated on this here Blog thingy when the space is ready to launch.
See you in Home!
@Locust_Star over response to 30
I’m sorry you want us to do the work for you guys? I can understand PSOne games, I can understand supporting the PS3, hell I can even understand BC removal though I object to it. However I think it’s a little much to ask us to support a service that hasn’t proven itself yet.
I don’t use home, I have no use for home, I will continue to have no use for home for as long as I feel home is useless. Sony should be encouraging 3rd and 2nd party developers to produce home spaces with game launching abilities from day one with their games.
Sony needs to validate the existence of Home and so far most of it’s own titles don’t even utilize the feature for crying out loud.
thankx locust!!!! and all the people at the home team!, can we expect you guys to go down at 12am pst?
Oh one more thing I need from Home, a LBP space, seriously. Play Create Share is a major aspect of the PS community, and it should be a part of Home.
Thanks
Bravo!
Will the avatars ever become a standard for our online IDs…… seriously
@51 LOL sony do talk to game developer about game launching and etc in there game space but it up to the game developer to allow it lol what you want sony to do hold a gun to there head? if you the consumer is not happy with the games stop buying them. it’s amazing to me how we want a price drop on systems but we are so fast to pay 60 buck on a game lol i brought 9 games last year do the math on how much money i spent it more then my system.
@Locust_star How much will Namco Museum cost us?
Love the Buzz Space! Can;t wait to play trivia with 64 people. This is showing the power of HOME…Free, social, gaming, greatness.
Do you know if we’ll ever see Secret of Monkey Island on PSN? Would be quite awesome to have some kind of Home unlockable for it. TG16 related items would be cool also if the games ever come over here.
Still waiting on RE5 Archives update. *crosses fingers*
Locust is there any chance that ad hoc party will get relased in the US by integrating it into home?
i really love what EA do with the EA complex :)
Wow, I can’t wait for the BUZZ space …
and those EA spaces look pretty good too, and I’m glad because as fantastic as the EA Poker spaces have been, the Golf Range is perhaps the absolute WORST space in Home.
COOL
Locust,
I hope you’re still responding and can take a few seconds to answer this because it’s fairly important to me…
Motorstorm Pacific Rift in it’s last update was given Home launching but as you obviously know, Home itself doesn’t support Pacific Rift’s Home launching yet. Is there any ETA you can give for this feature to be activated within Home?
hey Locust,
when will we be able to get the socom clothes?
i saw them on pulse’s latest edition, and thought “hey i want to wear that in home.” any info?
Thanks,
Storm
Good news: You can get them as of today.
