Hey PlayStation fans, I’m Ryan, Capcom’s newest Bearer of Good News. Today, I’m here to bring you word of our upcoming PlayStation classics, a library of classic games being brought to you on the PlayStation Network. We’ve sorted through our archives and hand-selected the games that rocked the industry. All of these upcoming classics will be released over the PSN, and will be playable on your PSP.
Coming up first is Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed, available tomorrow. The game is a collection of arcade classics from gaming’s glorious past. Pay homage to the best of the arcades, like Final Fight, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter, and Magic Sword. Prove your old-school dominance with twenty full arcade titles. Check out the full list of included games here.
Later this summer, look forward to Fate/Unlimited Codes. Capcom’s fighting game masters have brought one of Japan’s most popular animes exclusively to the PSN, ready for the new PSPgo. High-flying combos and fast-paced versus action show off the game’s gorgeous 3D graphics, and it’s a fighting-game experience you can’t get anywhere else.
Next, keep your eyes out for more gems from Capcom, being brought directly to the PSN. Check out the full list below, including PSone and UMD Legacy titles, and come back often for more info on individual release timing.
- Capcom Classics Collection Remixed (UMD Legacy)
- Mega Man Powered Up (UMD Legacy)
- Dino Crisis (PlayStation Legacy)
- Power Stone Collection (UMD Legacy)
- Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (UMD Legacy)
- Resident Evil 2 (PlayStation Legacy)
- Darkstalkers (UMD Legacy)
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (UMD Legacy)

@rmcdougall
Thank you very much for clarification. When I typed my comment there were not requests for clarification, but they came after I submitted. Thank you for taking time to answer directly.
Feel much better about the releases now.
Still would like to see something done with the RE:Gun Survivor series and the motion controls on Dualshock or even the soon-to-come and E3-demoed controller.
Keep up the good work.
(Now to beat Konami over the head for some Silent Hill PSN love.)

Some games (Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max included) have a nasty memory stick bug where you need to have less than 2 GB on your memory stick just to be able to load and save, as these games came out before the release of 4 GB memory sticks. Can you confirm that this is fixed? I don’t want to get a PSPgo and fill up 15 GB just so I can save in SFA3 Max…

I already have SF Alpha 3 Max on UMD and would love to be able to change it to download so i woudlnt have to use the UMD. Is there anything in the works for something like this?

OMG YES! Thank you Capcom! I couldn’t find Mega Man Powered Up at retail stores, now I can finally play it. Can’t wait for RE2 & 3!
82
Zookey | July 1st, 2009 at 12:56 pm
OMG SFA3 MAX DOWNLAODABLE I LOVE YOU CAPCOM
One request–could you make it playable on PS3 too? SFA3 MAX was the BEST version of an already kick arse fighter so, to play it on my TV would be a little added nicety!
RE2 and Re3 and Dino Crsis=win

rmcdougall, the PSone Classics are NOT coming tomorrow right?
rmcdougall replied on July 1, 2009 at 2:03 pm
No, just CCCR will be coming tomorrow. Check back, we’ll have new things coming often.

Letters2Kay | July 1st, 2009 at 12:56 pm
This is one of the best classic collections ever. The original Street Fighter started my Capcom obsession at 6 years old and it’s awesome to have the game in any form. Strider is still one of the best arcade titles ever released and is worth the cost of collection by itself. I already have the UMD, but I’ll probably pick this up just to eliminate one more disc and include one more amazing game on my memory stick.
Can’t wait for Dino Crisis and RE2&3! Great news today for Capcom fans…

1) What’s the holdup with the BC:R patch? Two weeks in QA is a little lengthy for a patch, isn’t it?
2) Are we going to see Breath of Fire III and/or IV PSone releases this year?
86
AlphaTribe2007 | July 1st, 2009 at 12:57 pm
the three titles for download for the PS3, will anything be upgraded??

BlooodyCow | July 1st, 2009 at 1:06 pm
I am sorry, but asking for $19.99 for each of these UMD is a huge rip-off. You can get most of these game for about $10 each and some at $15 dollars each at most retailers. I am not going to tell you how to run you business, but without retailers getting a cut out of each of these games sold, I would expect these game costs to be under the retail version (physical copy).

Neil | July 1st, 2009 at 1:09 pm
Aw man, I thought this was for PS3. Is there any chance of bringing the PS2 Capcom Collection to the PS3 as separate PSN games with Trophies? I already own the disc but would gladly buy each one :)
99
ShaigunJoe | July 1st, 2009 at 1:10 pm
Why can’t we start playing PSP games on the ps3? The psone games can be played on both.

Reiter | July 1st, 2009 at 1:12 pm
BloodyCow has it right. I buy a lot of the PSOne Classics (good prices), but I won’t spend MORE for a downloadable PSP game. Why spend $20-23 for a title I can get for $10-13 ($7 in the case of SFA3 MAX)? At $12.99, I would probably buy ALL of these. At $20? I won’t buy any of them.
