Hi all,
We know a lot of you Ratchet & Clank fans are looking forward to the return of everyone’s favorite intergalactic duo this fall in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. As we gear up for launch, we wanted to fill you in on some pre-order programs for the game which kick off today! Here are some of the cool R&C goodies you’ll get when you pre-order Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time:
Discovery Package – Explore the Insomniac Moon, a special level that resembles the layout of the Insomniac Games’ offices! Scattered through this museum-like level, you will discover a moon’s worth of extra content that didn’t quite make it into the game.
Power Package –The Power package includes an exclusive weapon skin for one of Ratchet’s weapons. You will also start the game with extra hit points, and Ratchet’s brand new Cryo Mine Glove, a weapon that freezes enemies! (This pre-order program goes into effect over the next few weeks.)
Bolt Package – The thrifty gamer will find lots to love in this exclusive Bolt Package! Start the game with two of Ratchet’s most bolt-centric power-ups — the Bolt Magnetizer and Box Basher, and you will discover your galactic bank account has already loaded with 5,000 bolts when you start the game.
Space Package – The Space Package offers an exclusive hotrod skin for Ratchet’s ship, the Aphelion. You also will start with 5,000 bolts as well as an exclusive Ratchet & Clank PlayStation Home Avatar Skin!
You can find these pre-order programs at retailers like Amazon.com, Best Buy, Game Crazy, GameStop and/or other participating retailers.
That’s it for now, but there’s plenty of Ratchet & Clank goodness coming your way the next few months. Next up for the Insomniac crew is Comic-Con, so stay tuned for a whole slew of new info and gameplay later this month!

Still no word on if this is US only? North America announcements often exclude half of North America.
@132 – “As much as I like R&C (I really do, I bought the previous game), why release three PS3 R&C games (counting the downloadable one) before we have even one PS3 Sly Cooper game? What gives?”
Sly Cooper is made by Sucker Punch, who this generation made inFamous. [which is awesome]

I completely agree with you. I too love to read “well thought out” or “Well-reasoned” posts and not posts filled with expletives, general “Hate-Posts” and, I suppose you would call it, garbage.
I was simply saying that I thought that the comments were pointless and unnecessary, Not that I didn’t agree with them.
I do however think that there are other “well thought out” or “Well-reasoned” posts that have not been acknowledged that should be. It is not fair that only some of the posts should be acknowledged and most others ignored. I suppose the pharse “All-or-Nothing” would not be un-called for here.

guys, stop worrying. i called insomniac games today and talked to james stevenson, and he said that the insomniac moon will be available in the game if u DO NOT pre order!!!! preordering it will just give it to you at the begining of the game. and it is likely that everything else will be available some point in the game

It was said on the last page of the comments that these are US only, for right now, but that other stuff would be coming for other countries. Good to know, since I’m Canadian!

I think it would be a pretty cool idea if they included all of this stuff in the special edition, But with other stuff too like art books and maybe even an exclusive walkthrough. I also heard that this will all be available for free via psn and that would be pretty cool too, anyway i am buying this game and i have total faith in you Insomniac.

So, when we pre-order at either Amazon.com, Best Buy, Game Crazy, GameStop, we chose only one perk or what? Im terribly confused 0_o

The four retailers each have a single package, exclusive to them, in the US. The packages just get you access to certain things in the game sooner, rather than later. If you don’t pre-order and get a package, you’ll still have access too these items eventually, through in-game play or (possibly) as downloadable content on PSN.
I’ve pre-ordered, but I won’t use the package I’ll get as I prefer to play the game as it was designed, and earn the extras, just as I have with previous R&C titles.

Since you sort-of can’t get all of the packs, will they be available as DLC later down the road?
That’s what happened with LBP, the Heavenly Sword Pre-Order costume was later released as DLC…

“…I’m confident that if you are crazy and want ALL of the content, you’ll eventually get it.”
Call me crazy. This plan stinks.

I’m pretty sure that Europe will get these too. In latest GameStop advertisement there was a whole page about preorders. Well, it said next to R&C that “Preorder and get exclusive content”. I’m all hyped now.

Look I agree with everyone that the different pre-order bonuses are stupid but I do think there should be a pre-order bonus, one that has all of them from one retailer. One thing though, after releasing the game though, will you be able to get these bonuses as extras off the playstation store? I’ve heard rumours that it will be like little big planet and you can download them later. What do you think?

I have a really important question, will this be also available in Austria? I hope so, because i am really looking forward to this game, it seems that this one will be the best :D.
