This Thursday, July 16th, will bear witness to a tremendous content update in the ever-growing world of PlayStation Home. In fact, there’s so much set up to go down in-world this week that we can barely fit it all in without breaking our word count agreement. So to keep things cool with our friends here over at the PS Blog, we’ll cut out the regularly-scheduled blabbing and get straight to the point.
We think you’ll be stoked to see that the long-awaited BUZZ! HQ is launching. Here, you can meet up with friends new and old and take part in a massive 64-player game of BUZZ! trivia. This content is fed into the space via MyBuzzQuiz.com – a site where you can create your own trivia questions for your fellow BUZZ! fanatics to tackle. So be sure to create an account and start uploading your trickiest trivia. Then get your butt into Home, hook up with your brainiest peeps, enter the BUZZ! HQ, and start racking up the prizes. Rest assured that we’ll be taking advantage of this sweet new space by regularly scheduling some truly awesome events. Keep your eyes on the Home Clubs and Events sub-forum over at PlayStation.com for more info.
EA SPORTS continues to demonstrate their leadership in the world of sports competition by updating their fan-favorite EA SPORTS Complex. This week they are dropping some new goods on us and opening up a space for their hit Fight Night franchise. This swanky boxing-themed night club space launches with an interactive DJ game, rewards, and plenty of places to chill with your nearest and dearest Home-boys and Home-girls. Note that this is just phase one of the Fight Night space (there are tons of mini-game updates and the new virtual items scheduled for near future deployment) so you’ll need to make sure that you check in on this here blog for the latest updates.
Those of you who pick up the Namco Museum Essentials from the PlayStation Store will find that these games are unlocking a bunch of rewards in Home. We’re talking Dragon Spirit and Xevious: Resurrection arcade cabinets, for Crom’s sake! And, yes, the Namco Bandai Arcade will be coming to SCEA Home at a later date, so have no fear. We’ll keep you updated on this here Blog thingy when the space is ready to launch.
See you in Home!

So are we ever going to see the singstar stuff in home? apparently adding a couple shirts to home is harder than it looks since it’s taken months

Great news!!!
One question, has there been any talks of having our avitars doing more activities?
Like taking to the ring instead of the robot boxing, for example.
Thanks.

Hi,
Is there a way to make the boot sequence and the load times when you move from one space to another smaller? Also when I click start to go on the world map, it takes a good while before all the icons show up. Is this being worked on?
Thanks

will the music in the mall ever be upgraded to better quality? it’s really lispy and muddy sounding.
also, will audio chat ever be re-enabled outside of club houses and personal spaces? even just between friends (and optionally friends-of-friends)?

Those two spaces look cool but what will keep me coming back? It would be awesome if you could win PSN cards or credit in the Buzz Home Space similar to how Xbox Live does it with 1 vs. 100

What if you already had the Namco home items from downloading the Japanese demo from about a year ago?
Will I have to re-earn them again? (Not like it’s that hard, except I’m terrible at Xevious)

plaztiksyke | July 15th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
are there any plans to work with TellTale to bring a Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit, or Tales of Monkey Island space into Home once they launch their games on PSN? I think this would be *really* cool.
Or, OMG, a space based on Myst or Riven?
The Siren space was really cool and I’d love to see more adventure-like titles get spaces. Hopefully Heavy Rain will get one when it ships as well.
Keep up the good work!

I’m looking forward to the Fight Night space.
Why can’t we have reward items like belts for earning belts in Legacy Mode?

Still no game game launching from HOME as a standard for ONLINE multi-player games??? SIGH…TRUST ME…that is what GAMERS want out of HOME….everything else is fluff! Game Launching will get people to use HOME then they’ll consider using the other spaces…but GAME LAUNCHING is ESSENTIAL!!!
Locust_Star replied on July 15, 2009 at 4:09 pm
We’ve built the game launching feature in on our end. It is up to the developers of these titles to implement on their end. If you want to encourage a developer to patch their title to support game launching in Home, we fully encourage you to email them, leave a message on their forums/blogs, etc.

BUZZ1! BUZZ! BUZZ! Is that enough NJ? LOL. It would be nice to have a time frame on public voice chat or a reason as to why it was removed, I have my assumptions but that is not what reality dictates. We were lead to believe that Public Voice Chat would return “soon”, but so far no real word other than we are working on it. Well a small update has lead to some rumors about changes in phone a friend options but nothing has been said about the fact that some have been able to “listen” in to conversations other than the one that they wanted to connect to? So what is the recent word since soon now is not applicable any more???

Locust? at :26 on the buzz quiz video, is the question asking what’s the capital of Laos? If it is, it’s spelled Laos, not “Loas”

smokey_vols | July 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Do the arcade cabinets in Home function, or are they just for show? Will it be the whole game you get to play, or just the demo through the arcade cabinet?

Just like trophies is REQUIRED for all games…make game launching REQUIRED for all online games. Whats so hard about it?
Just my 2 cents

Is FIGHT NIGHT Space going to be inside of EA Complex or will be another Space outsider?

Home has come a LONG way but it’s still far from done. This Buzz space is just AMAZING!!!
