Greetings Home peeps,

Locust_Star here, signing in to give you a quick heads-up regarding a cool event that we will be running for the next week in our new 10-Screen Theater. Magician, mind reader, escapologist, hypnotist, illusionist and all-around crazy sonofagun Criss Angel has given us some exclusive clips from the next season of A&E’s hit show Criss Angel: Mindfreak, which we will be broadcasting starting today.

Criss Angel Mindfreak in Home

The best part is that every user that logs in to PlayStation Home to check out these clips will be given a limited-time virtual item for their personal space – a stylish Criss Angel Mindfreak Coffin Couch. This item will only be available to those of you who visit the 10-Screen Theater and watch the Criss Angel: Mindfreak video between now and the 12th. After this date, this item will never again be made available. You’ll also be automatically entered into a giveaway for 1 of 2 real – yes REAL – Criss Angel: Mindfreak Coffins and 1 of 3 Criss Angel: Burn DVD’s and Book sets (5 winners total). So what are you waiting for? The clock is a’ticking, my friends…tick tock tick tock!

As much as I like useless digital trinkets, the giveaway with real items sounds intriguing. Guess it’s time to log into Home again!

hey sony, inseatd of wasting money on playstation home, why don’t you guys hire some geeks from microsoft and make the psn better? cross game voice?

+ Shy_Guy92 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:14 pm said:

Yes, going on Home just to piss people off means you have a life.
I think your the one that needs to grab a life.

+ Maguss on August 6th, 2009 at 12:14 pm said:

Hey I haven’t been able to log into home since yesterday. Anyone else having this problem?

+ ExcelKnight on August 6th, 2009 at 12:17 pm said:

Is the DVD Giveaway available for users from Canada as well?

Seeing as how we get A&E over here and all…

+ Anubis80 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:17 pm said:

@CASHviLLe_615 your the one who needs a life if thats all you do. Sorry if I enjoy getting things for Home when I do hang out there with my friends and just to check things out.

@Shy_Guy92 your right. He does need to.

+ CASHviLLe_615 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:17 pm said:

@ shy guy, no not anymore bro, they took the public voice chat off, know is just boring, bunch of foreigners on there, what im trying say is why would you waste your time on playstation home, when you can put all the support on psn itself.

+ TailSMeDiA on August 6th, 2009 at 12:21 pm said:

i would love the theater even more if it didnt have such ridiculous loading times… streaming video sony?

+ ExcelKnight on August 6th, 2009 at 12:21 pm said:

Sony probably makes more money off of Home than they would have by simply providing us with free features all the time.

+ Tr3p1dat10n on August 6th, 2009 at 12:21 pm said:

Cash, Eric Lempel has already confirmed they were working on cross game chat in an interview (too lazy to find a link).

+ BabeBro on August 6th, 2009 at 12:22 pm said:

Great addition to the theater, now all we need is real movies and shows playing and we’re set :)

+ Anubis80 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:23 pm said:

Your right. How many SF4, RE5, KZ2, and Ghostbuster costumes do you see running around? TONS! You are right Home generates tons of money. Plus a few of my friends just about bought every place that you can buy in the store. So CASHviLLe_615 has no clue.

+ whiskey_14 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:33 pm said:

HAHAHA I saw his opening night in Vegas and it was horrible. Nothing but a goth wannabe created for the mindless not the mindfreaks!

+ Kchow23 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:33 pm said:

Don’t really like the show Criss Angel, but I like that couch

+ Jeeves_Tremor on August 6th, 2009 at 12:35 pm said:

“Entered into a giveaway”

Great. Unless Locust or Cydonia can confirm this will not be a USA only giveaway like usual, this is just another reason for me not to go back into Home.

I know it may seem like a lot to ask, but please outline some basic rules and reg’s in the blog post, so my fellow Canadians and I don’t get our hopes up for nothing.

+ CASHviLLe_615 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:36 pm said:

lol, sony is just letting m$ run all over it, there not even trying , remember when home was suppose to have game launch? wha happen to that why can’t sony make that mandatory? like the trophies i just don’t get it, i know home got potential but sony is not using it.

+ EvoAnubis on August 6th, 2009 at 12:37 pm said:

Sweet! I have a lot of catching up to do with Home.

+ jboyjeeks on August 6th, 2009 at 12:37 pm said:

I’ll be there.

+ Nick212004 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:41 pm said:

PlayStation is progressing very slowly with very small steps, but its getting there. BTW, are you guys EVER going to add Public Chat back? That is one of the main things I miss from the closed beta I participated in.

+ BlindMango on August 6th, 2009 at 12:42 pm said:

This is good for the HOME Theater! PLEASE don’t pass up bringing Movies and TV Shows to the theater.

Great idea!

Instead of free online for everyon we can waste 50 bucks every year like Microsoft’s online makes you

Instead of dedicated servers for lagfree online play we can have laggy P2P like Microsoft has

Instead of 40, 64, or even 256 player online games we can be stuck with laggy 10 or 16 player P2P games like Gears of War and Halo 3

Instead of the incredible 7+ million user strong Home online world that every major publisher is cranking out content for we can have retarded little 2D Nintendo Mii avatars that do nothing1

Great idea! LOL! Go back to your POS RRoD box.

Nice addition to the NamelessOnes Clubhouse!

+ DevilDawg90 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:48 pm said:

It’s nice to see that the screens are bieng used for something different. A free couch is cool. Maybe just not a Mindfreak one. Lets hope we see more off this but with idk maybe a game like Uncharted 2.

+ TheAlp on August 6th, 2009 at 12:52 pm said:

is this US only?

+ Neil on August 6th, 2009 at 12:57 pm said:

I can’t wait for real movies to made available in the Home theaters.

Also, you can’t sit in the movie theater seats and do Full Screen.

+ CASHviLLe_615 on August 6th, 2009 at 12:58 pm said:

@terry dude i have never played RROD box even @ walmart im the loyalist sony dude ever, bravia and bravia surround sound says hi, vaio too, but yeah im sayin why are they boosting money into something useless as this when they can bring xbox fanbase over to ps3 if they had those features they had, universal voice chat and game invites says hi( imagine that for free, it would burry the competition!!

+ rgoff31 on August 6th, 2009 at 1:06 pm said:

Thanks Guys. This was top on my list of things in Home I wanted. Really. No Really. *Cough First Party Game Launching Cough*

Does it include used under-garments from his semi-famous womens? Ewwwwww.

+ TerryVSL on August 6th, 2009 at 1:17 pm said:

No one give a F about the 25 million or so losers who bought the Xbox last gen and RRoD box this gen.

Between 145 and 150 million PS1/PS2 owners out there ready to upgrade as the PS3 drops in price.

Can anyone imagine having to search around every year for deals to pay for having the right to play games online like Xbots have to?

Can anyone imainge having to worry if your friends currently are paying for the right to play game online?

Can you imagine instead of the LAN like sikly smooth online play of games like Resistance you instead are at the mercy of whatever punk and his crap Net connection gets chosen to host your current game?

Can you imagine having those idiotic and lame Nintendo Miis instead of the incredible online world that Home is?

Can you imagine instead of looking forward to the insane 256 player MAG your looking at joke online games with only 10 or 16 players at a time?

Keep trying to hype Microsoft garbage online service by sitting around in Playstation forums demanding those silly bullet points. The gaming world will continue to laugh at Microsoft’s crap online service.

Sony is teaching Microsoft how to do online gaming right. Why isn’t Microsoft learning from Sony?

I can’t believe Sony is still allocating company resources to Home… I’d be interested to see some sales data that shows how profitable this thing is because I can’t be the only one that sees it as a giant waste of time.

+ Shook-Yang on August 6th, 2009 at 1:29 pm said:

Say, can the US HOME get those SingStar rewards that we were supposed to get back in March?

+ ExcelKnight on August 6th, 2009 at 1:29 pm said:

Micro transactions. Look it up.

+ geekdadcanada on August 6th, 2009 at 1:30 pm said:

Personally, I just don’t get the appeal of Home at all. It just seems like a huge sausage factory of annoying people that say the rudest stuff possible under the anonymity of their avatar. If a female ever does show up, look out, it’s an all out attack.

I’d rather see Sony’s money and time spent on getting developers to publish a wider variety of games for the PS3. With the exception of a few downloadable games, it seems that the vast majority of PS3 exclusives are FPS games.

If I want to roam around a useless avatarland, I’d go into Second Life. When I use my gaming console, I want great games. Right now, most of my gaming mtime is spent on the 360.

+ dreu81 on August 6th, 2009 at 1:50 pm said:

exclusives all fps? check out Little Big Planet, Motorstorm 1 & 2, InFAMOUS, Megal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Valkyria Chronicles, etc…

There are only a couple exclusive fps games on the PS3 that i know of man.

+ dragfindel on August 6th, 2009 at 2:05 pm said:

If they could make that whenever you purchase a game (exclusive or multiplatform)you will receive furniture, related to that game.
If they did that, I would check home more often. :)

+ reson8er on August 6th, 2009 at 2:05 pm said:

@ geekdadcanada

I totally see your points re: Home and I even agree with some.

However what you and I see as frivolous or pointless others see as useful. One shouldn’t begrudge anothers experiance just because it doesn’t fit their own.

I have the opposite experiance as yours, most all my gaming time is spent on my PS3 while my 360 gathers dust. To each their own.

+ gema11981 on August 6th, 2009 at 2:08 pm said:

i just filled out a survey from ps and it was about this mind freak. everything i put was dislike . Please sony stop being so worried about things like criss angel mind freak and start working on perfecting voice chat and online play. Criss Angel mind freak are u kidding me stop wasting time on that stuff and give us a better online experience.

+ reson8er on August 6th, 2009 at 2:11 pm said:

@ CASHviLLe_615

I see your point, but you have to realize Home is separate from their games division and more than likely has a different budget which is exclusive to it.

You also should remember that the 360 is trying to create (ultimately) its own version or interpretation of home. Avatars which are forced upon you are being pushed by them too.

Once cross game chat becomes a reality I don’t think these update notices will bother you as much, lol.
