Enhanced PlayStation Network Trophies Online

410 0

Hi Everyone,

You asked for it and later this week we’re delivering on it. We are making significant enhancements to the way you view your trophies online. Check out the walk-thru video so you can see these updates first hand.

Here’s what you’ll be able to do:

  • View detailed info on your trophies on PlayStation.com
  • Compare your trophies with multiple friends and other PSN ID’s
  • Compare details on trophies within each game
  • Track your progress to the next level against friends
  • See what trophies you have and what you still need to unlock for each game
  • Use the sorting features to plan your game domination

In addition, the portable ID has been enhanced with trophy data so you’ll also be able to take your portable ID with you to official game sites, social networks and other third party sites making it easier to show off your trophies and gamer status with friends online. Your PlayStation Network Portable ID will link directly to your public trophy page on us.PlayStation.com.

  • Yeah! Suck it, Europe! :P

  • That’s cool, i’d like to be able to see which friends are online on the first page of my friends page, instead of having to look at all the pages to see who all is online.

  • Wow! this before another PS3 FW update? yikes I thought I saw it all, guess not )=

  • Thats awesome but not as awesome as the MAG beta will be!

  • I think this might have been said, but the current size is too large and awkward. A lot of sites have size restrictions and the current size (what looks to not have changed) is too large. Alternate layouts/sizes would be ideal.

  • looks awesome

  • Sony do u think u could release a bigger software or firmware update i say ummm… like 3.20 or 3.15 or so im behind in my firmware :(

  • Very nice. Can’t wait for more stuff on the 18th!

  • This is great and all, but when are we going to get an API?

  • I agree with #142 +lbmanuel1.

There are so many impossible games to get at least half way trophies. Games like ‘PAIN’ and more, sometimes I want to delete it’s list off my Trophy list, but you guys haven’t make possible yet.

  • So will our portable ID be more like the Europe one now?

  • Nice update to the changes to the trophy page. I look forward to when the website is updated.

One feature that might be useful is a “list all my friends who have played this game”. Sometimes I forget if which friends have a game and it can be time consuming to check each one individually.

Also, a “list all my friends who have played this game and have this trophy” and a “list all my friends who have played this game and do not have this trophy” would be useful when asking for tips or setting up a group.

  • Eric, how do you get the MY PS3 FAILED trophy? Obviously I can’t sync my trophies, since my $600 60gb failed. It actually overheated in less than 5 minutes one morning.

I’m glad to know that Sony Consumer Services has such confidence in their products too. I was told that the 25% of retail price that it costs to fix the FAILed PS3 get’s me a 90 day guarantee. But Sony Consumer Services say they can’t guarantee that it won’t fail again in 2 days. WTF?

  • PSN needs new Avatars.

A better Kratos avatar, a better updated Uncharted avatar, a GT5 avatar, MAG avatar, heavy rain avatar, etc etc etc…

  • Will you enable Quick View for a user account? This is currently available on the EU site.

  • Any chance of making a few different variations of the portable ID? I personally find the current size a bit large.

  • How come Europe’s trophy card looks so much cooler?

  • YAY! It is honestly about time.

Hopefully the Portable ID’s are very customizable.

    NEXT: Cross-software voice chat!

  • pretty nice guys1

  • Great! I love Sony’s dedication to not only bringing great NEW features, but refining the OLD features and making them better.

Two features I’d like to see:
    – The ability to delete games that you have 0% in from your trophy list. I bought Pain and it’s possibly the least fun thing I’ve ever seen called a “video game” (which I’d argue it isn’t). I’d rather it just be off my list. Xbox 360 implemented a similar feature based on 2 or so years of gamers demanding it and I’m sure that a lot of Sony fans feel the same.
    – I would like the trophies to load a little faster… gamer profiles as well. They just seem to take much longer than they ought to to materialize. Given that I’m completely unaware of what’s involved in this, I am likewise unaware of how practical a goal that is.

    Thanks, as ever, for listening!

  • awesome update. Now I can stay on us.playstation.com to look up trophies and such. Thanks folks, great addition!

  • Good update keep up the good work! Now to be able to send messages through playstation.com to my friends list…

  • So.. when is the website going to actually update so I can use this?

  • PSN Europe Portable IDs look much nicer

  • Nice features and 1+ more features than EU, but compared to EU, the US version of the portable id’s are bland and ugly looking, same for the style with the trophy section. gettign a totally new look for Playstation.com would be nice.

  • Very good! Thanks!

  • i like the idea, and also like the change of the portable ID…but i agree with most members, the avatars need an update.

  • This is what I’ve wanted to be able to do on the PS3 for months now. Could you work on that please? Thank you.

  • Great that you yanks finally get trophy cards but two things need to be addressed. Public APIs so those wild webcoders can start integrating PSN acrross the net (Facebook anyone?) and secondly centralise/streamlise this! Its utter bollocks that the EU have one version and the US have another version.

  • Thanks alot Sony!!!

  • Nice improvements, but the portable ID of the EU site is still better. I really hope you can make it like that or better eventually.

    Keep the good work XD.

  • Nice update, I have a suggestion regarding the trophy system. Why no create an incentive for the trophy system? Why don’t you intergrate exclusive PSN avatars based on a user’s trophy level. Let’s say Streetfighter IV for intance I have completed a set percentage of rewards. My PSN avatar would be Ryu. Which would be viewable globally through your PSN friend’s list. You could load all the avatars locally on each user’s system regardles if they meet the requirements or not for that given Avatar.

  • how bout updating the psn ids on the ps3 for instance our playstation home avitar should pop up right nect to our gamer card. and how bout more 2d avitar choices?

  • Your listening at least. And that’s good. Not a feature I care for, but I’m sure this will have 10 pages of people who do.

  • Alternatively, the user may have a choice of an exclusive avatar based on the number of platinum trophys they have for their PSN account.

  • I won’t have to update the psn card each time to synch up the trophy data a right? RIGHT?

  • Thanks Eric, you’re the best

  • This is awesome thank you guys so much, just 1 question, are we going to be getting any sort of “Exp to next level” or a break down of how many bronze, silver, gold, platinum trophies we need to get to another level so that we can kinda judge better than “Well now it seems that I get 1 percentage pointish per every 2 bronze” cause once you get to lvl 11 and up it’s really hard to know how close you REALLY are from leveling up.

  • But will it update automatically?

  • Nice little update but still hoping for bigger things.

  • Trophies are lame.

  • LOL Eric, what are you doing on Jeff’s account?

  • Sony, you rock!

I JUST made a post about this a few days ago. Granted I was talking about on the PSN, but this is still a great enhancement!

But the idea is literally EXACTLY the same…from choosing friends to comparing left the right! :-)

  • that portable id still looks terrible. 3rd party sites were making much better ones with customizable skins and a resolution that made a lot more sense.

that size will make it unusable on a lot of forums due to signature restrictions. a step in the right direction yes, but how come we can’t just have playfire id’s or how come you guys can’t make a sensible id like for the 360?

  • “hearing your feedback” ???

Not once has Eric come out and said “Hey, we’re working on cross game voice chat” or even acknowledged the hundreds of comments regarding the next firmware…they only take into account the positive comments and say “lol wut?” to the negative comments.

  • Why can’t you do that WITHOUT logging on?

You know, like Xbox Live has mygamercard.net where you can :

    Log in and add friends
    Log in and message friends
Show your profile page without logging in, for example look at this random guys profile :

    http://profile.mygamercard.net/Paul%20Bunyan

And last but not least – Trophies Global Leaderboards?

Are we ever gonna get something like THAT?!

  • Hi Eric, these are nice features.

Since this seems like the best forum to get ideas across I would like to pitch the idea of allowing PSN users to select any earned trophy icons to use as their avatar.

This creates additional incentive to earn trophies and creates a near limitless catalog of fun avatars for people to use. The diversity would be appreciated and many of the trophy icons are beautifully rendered.

Just a thought. Chances are I’ll bug you about it again in the future.
