Hey Grace!

Fantastic update!

Just a quick question: Is there anyway we could get Criss Angel: MindFreak in HD? I know they broadcast it in HD on A&E, and I would definitely buy them all if they were in HD!

Thanks!

Re: Canada server

May be they can partner with Zip.ca while Microsoft is not yet there.

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/30/zip-ca-ceo-would-love-to-bring-new-streaming-service-to-canadi/

At the same time monopolies might be making it too expensive to stream in Canada:

Where the hell is the video store. I see images that show Playstation Store being split in two sections (Games and Video). How come I can’t see it when I go to the Playstation Store on my PS3?

- Note which videos have surround sound on the store so I can find them.
Please …

Why not just support a service instead of having a store locked to one device. I can’t see why anyone would want to buy a movie that could only be watched by the system in one room. With physical media, I can watch the same movie on any of the devices in my house. Buying movies locked to one PS3 is for suckers.

For everyone complaining about not having a Canadian video store, do you know how long it actually takes to setup a the playstation network video store?

Sony has to get contracts with movie production companies, the owners over the rights of the companies, they have to negotiate fees to pay these companies, and many more. It’s not as simple as putting videos on a server and selling the videos.

Grace any chance we’ll see Full music albums for download for PS3 via Music tab on PSN Store? I love the band MUSE and their next album “The Resistance” is coming Sep. 14. I’d love to see the album released on the PSN Store..maybe bundled with a video and theme…maybe with PlayStation Home rewards like Matthew Bellamy’s famous custom Manson guitars as ornaments and MUSE t-shirts?

+ Knight0011 on August 14th, 2009 at 9:53 am said:

They should have done a simultaneous release of the Video Store across all regions. Why do they cater to one country for a year while leaving everyone else out? They probably decided to release it in US first THEN work on other countries, stupid really. This is probably why it has taken them a year to get in Europe and who knows when Canada will get it…

24

+ Skater_Ricky on August 14th, 2009 at 10:01 am said:

Wow… Look at the complainers…. :P go out and have fun… If it’s not comming to Canada then stop complaining… Because it’s not getting resolved over night..

I agree with a price drop on Rentals… You have to beat the Red Box by McDonalds there making a killing off of $1 movie rentals for DVD’s

just make it the same price of $1 for DVD rentals and can be watched for 2 days total and you would beat them :D

And a payied service would be nice rent anything off the store for a monthly fee now you would make allot then and make coustomers happy :D

Are there any plans to include subtitle options in the movies/tv shows? Also can you add a documentary and foreign genres? There’s plenty of the former and a couple of the latter already there.

@Video Store Crew
Could you guys add an “Animated” movie category under “Movie Genres”? I know you have one for anime, but cartoon movies like all of the wonderful DC comics ones could use a quick one-stop spot to find them! :)

@3
Wow, an acknowledge about Canada. That only took hundreds of comments by Canadians over the past year to get a reply. And even if there’s no information in the reply, at least someone at Sony realizes they are loosing customers and potential revenue up north.

Now, let’s hope that if and when Sony implements it in Canada, they don’t screw up up like Apple did with iTunes in Canada. We want *all* the American programming that Americans get, not a handful of token American shows to supplement CBC and CTV Canadiana crap.

It’s great Sony lets us buy/rent movies from their video store. A shame us Netflix subscribers can’t use their service on the PS3, though.

I agree with a lot of other users, I would love to use my Netflix on my PS3 and not pay $50 dollars a year to watch on my XBOX360. I would also rent all of my videos from PS3 if it were a dollar a day, with new releases.

I wonder how long we will have to continue to post these comments before changes will occur.

Still waiting in disappointment,
Steve

Where are the previews and trailers for all this content. Really it is just a long list of words without some kind of preview. The Video Playstation Store Team really needs to add previews and trailers like all other online video stores. The content is here just give me some context of what these shows are in the Store.
