Sack it to Me – The “Countdown to Cologne” Edition

The biggest Video Games show in Europe, gamescom, is set to start next week in Cologne Germany. LBP will be there and as teased previously there may be some new things to announce. As we all wait patiently, let’s see what’s been going on this week.

LittleBigPlanet Scores Interactive Innovation Award

Given to video games that break new ground in the industry by Edge, the Interactive Innovation Award was well received by the Media Molecule team, even if they couldn’t be there. Congrats!

Comic-Con Lives in LBP

As we mentioned before David Dino aka gevurah22 was working on a level inspired by his Comic-Con adventures. Well his level is done and you can play it! For those of you who didn’t get to go yourselves, be sure to give it a spin!

Hey y’all. It’s David (gevurah22) again and I’d like to show you guys a little level I created called “LBP @ Comic-con 2009.” It’s a small level based around my short time in Comic-con this year at the San Diego Convention Center. Granted there’s no way I could have captured everything I saw during my time there, I did my best to give it a little LBP twist to it. Incorporating a little visual trick found by bakscratch and some help from NinjaMicWZ, this level hopefully encompasses the size of the convention center with so many things happening all around you. I also took a bit of the stuff we created at the show on the last day of Comic-con, including pics of everyone who helped out! Although short, I hope you enjoy the level!

DECORATE YOUR POD and SACKBOY

please make more MM levels!! Why is it.. absolutely every bit of DLC is new costumes!?! What else are you guys working on? You have a huge team working on the game down there and all you guys are making is 3 or 4 new costumes every 2 weeks…

They actually aren’t a big team at all. Tehy’re actaully a really small team. Also, If you didn’t notice, the History level kit has a level and, like, a million decorations and stickers and sounds and stuff.

Please add MM-created level packs with trophy support. Let us get some of the costumes through playing the game again. I’d like my LBP experience to feel again like it did in those magical first weeks with the game when I was unlocking everything. I won’t pay anything for more costumes, but I would gladly pay up for level packs that were real game levels with costumes, stickers, etc. included.

It would be nice if an update allowed you to choose how many layers you want in your scene. (The maximum being the maximum attained with he glitch). You could change this at any time too. It cold truthfully make LBP even more great. If the update was coupled with online create mode on August 18, LBP would be ultimate. (…unless you want to allow the player to edit shapes on the Z axis)

Okay everyone come on. Its the re-release of LBP but it will be LBP Game of the Year Edition. It was shown on amazon.com before they took it down. Thats what I know they are announcing and once they release it I will finally buy LBP.

They might announce more stuff but GOTY Edition is a given.
