Since its announcement at E3, I’ve been dying to see more of ModNation Racers for PS3. At Gamescom last week, I finally got that chance, checking out the game’s many track- and character-creating possibilities. To help guide me through it was United Front Games Producer Dan Sochan, who was also there to talk about just how much you can customize ModNation Racers, what to do after you’ve created a track, and much more.

Shut Up!
I can’t believe this is a PSN game. It seems like it could pass off as a full blu-ray disc game with some more content.
this create-thing looks amazing!!
I want it but 1st i need the ps3 slim baby!!
@Chris or Jeff : I really want to see some sort of interview of Dead Nation guys, can you guys give us that?
Thanks bros
The game looks amazing.
When is it coming out?
Seriously? No Bluray release? Doesn’t necessary mean it’s a small game though. Can’t wait for this one though. It will be sweet!
This game is another on my “Must Have” list. Y’all are bringing it to PAX right? :D
When does it come out?
is this gunna be a retail or psn game?
I’m a little dissapointed about is a PSN Game, i believed it was gonna come on Bluray, and it was gonna be as big as Little Big Planet has come. I expected the same for Modnation, but as a PSN Game it looks is gonna be shorter.
OH BOY ! i just hope the don’t charge 30 or 40 dollars for a game i can’t trade in when im done. Game looks really fun though. I would rather have a hard copy of it, but if its priced $15 or $20 dollars i will buy it on day 1.
Definatley going to buy
Can someone help me?
Ok I am buying the LBP Game of The Year Edition. Will the Mod Nation Racer beta be in the box or do I have to preorder to get the beta?
im going to make every nascar track so watch out for my name and download tracks
With Sony’s EPIC E3 victory, this game was almost too much to take. So overloaded with the major exclusive announcements and mind boggling good graphics in the demos to really get how good this game is going to be.
Day 1 purchase.
Although I can’t imagine it’s going to be less than 30 dollars. Anyone expecting 15 or 20 is probably setting themselves up for dissapointment.
PS3 graphics + cart racing + user designed content == SOLD.
Little Big Planet had the more mass market non-gamer friendly name and character artwork, though.
Man I’m really excited I’m already laying out some track ideas!!!
@13 it is a blu ray game 59.99
Looks cool. Will be getting this when I get my PS3 Slim. :D
Where does it say no Blu-ray release? I haven’t heard of anything regarding that. Normally they label it as a PSN release.
@20
Hey thanks yeah sorry, i read those comment above me, and i believed it was changed to an Only PSN Game, glad to hear is gonna be a Bluray Game
Is PSN back up?
And will this game come out this year?
@24 September 8th it comes out
if im not mistaken i think this is a full retail release and it doesnt come out till next year so unless u guys have links that say otherwise…..

LOL I love the Star Wars theme in the backround. Great game by the way! I must buy :)
…never mind. The Star Wars theme was in my other window. But it blended sooo good :)
Really interested in this game, loved the E3 presentation.
i can NOT wait for this game!! It looks so amazing! I love the whole Play Create and Share thing!
Someone needs to teach him how to pronounce “Decals”.
cool interview, I like your hair Chris ;)
I cannot wait to make a version of the Nurburgring. In fact I may make it my goal to do all the major world circuits (Laguna Seca, Spa, Infineon, Monaco, Suzuka, Fuji, Silverston, Monza, Le Mans, Brans Hatch, of course the Top Gear Test Track.
Great interview! I’d gotten so tired of cart racers but I’m warming up a little to this one. I look forward to more info and hopefully a beta invite………..
LMAO say decals again?
this game is going be great the next mario =-) off topic today is my 21st birthday =-)
I wonder if you can make a wipEout-like track in this. If so, it would be awesome.
Yea guys, sorry to burst your bubbles. Amazon has it for a February 24th release on Blu-Ray.
Wow this game looks very interesting. Mario Kart meets LittleBigPlanet indeed. No way is this a $10 title it’ll probably be a full Blu-ray title for $50-60. Honestly $60 seems a bit steep that will hurt sales for the type of game it is unless they have a bit single player mode with unlockables and stuff too.
I hope you can do your own music for racing too. Oh and jumps and stuff like the Wii Mario Kart would make it ideal for long term fun.
SUGGESTIONS: Things like weapons, jumps, boost pads, ability to bank the track, even loops would be awesome.
What if I upload my track and I don’t want anyone to download and change my track? Is that possible?
oh man. i need to preorder LBP GOTY To get into that beta!!
Why is everyone assuming this is gonna be a PSN game? It most likely wont be.
Yo chris i notice you said Mod nation isn’t a psn title.
question
isn’t this game also coming to PSP? i notice it on the Gamestop retailer site, and they aren’t always realiable but still. So that being said if there is a psp version wouldn’t it have to go to pspn for GO? technically comment 4 isnt completly wrong or right then.
Yeah i got my money down on LBP GOTY cant wait to finally play LBP and get some nice beta action going on. Also this is a full blu-ray title.
Looks fantastic. Really can’t wait. The track editor looks very simple but also very robust.
Would be cool to see this as a PSN download as well as a retail disc, but that probably wont happen
I love it I hope they offer a battle mode. Let you make longer tracks then what they show. Include loops and tunnels stuff like that. 4 player multiplayer split screen. I will buy this right away and will not take it out for what seems like years or the next Modnation Racer
Game looks incredible I’m gonna buy it on Day 1
Looks like fun. I’m always looking for games the whole family can enjoy.
First!
Can’t wait for this game to come out. How much will it cost? I’m guessing $15?
No, this will be a full Blu-ray experience. Stay tuned over the next few months as we reveal more…
