  • Thanks for the update. Is it possible to get a blog post instead of a twitter message saying it’s delayed next time? I didn’t know you guys used twitter until I searched to see what was going on.

  • @ 94 sorry i just dont see why we should cry about when a demo is release or when the psn update coming or why is it so late . i just got to many thing to worry about then crying about this crap . yes you should play the demo before buying any game but that right doesn’t give anyone the excuse to cry about when the demo coming out cause guess ? most of these games do not come out anytime soon . so you and others still have no excuse to cry.

  • [This post ONLY refers to this week’s PS Store for PSP Update.]

I was a bit shocked by the delay of this week’s PS Store update, but at the same time I understand that unexpected problems like this can occur at times. Though the PSP content mostly consists of themes and Rock Band Unplugged DLC, at least 3 more PSone Classics were added. While I’m not fond of Coolboarders or Tomb Raider, I did enjoy playing SimCity on the SNES, so SimCity 2000 sounds interesting. Thanks for the update nonetheless.

  • The level of whining is incredible. The update was late by hours. Not exactly the end of the world there.

And then there’s always the people that whine bitterly if the particular update didn’t have anything they personally wanted.

On the plus side though, I guess it shows just how addicted a lot of people are. Which is actually really good news for Sony. So nevermind if some of the addicts are pretty juvenile about it.

I must say, though, I’m pretty amused by the people who act like little babies and go on to complain loudly that Sony doesn’t respond to them personally. Clearly, the more immature your comment, the more likely Sony aught to be to respond to it, right?

  • Simcity or Tomb Raider….decisions decisions. Both great games at the same price, I dont know which one i feel like beating again. Well you cant really beat SC but you can drop natural disasters on poor citizens, earthquake+alien invasion anyone? I may leave it to a coin toss. Good update.

  • top 5 reason to cry
    1 I spend X amount in games.
2 Do you know who i am?
    3 Am a loyal customer
4 If that demo doesn’t come today i wont buy the game.
5 They have the demo on Xbox today why we don’t have it?
just put your name in front of these excuse so sony and real gamer can feel sorry for you cry baby.

  • I have to say the delay you guys/gals had was well worth the wait. Very nice update people congrats to all who worked hard on this, I know it’s not easy trying to do all this weekly. We all do really truly appreciate it. love ya :)
Note: Oh and even the cry babies love ya also but they just forget sometimes :)

  • Or maybe push it out as a message on our PS3s…

  • Man!!, some people are so……..nvm….it’s just rediculous that these people CLAIM to be interested in Trine, and Fallout 3 DLC, but yet they aren’t interested enough to go and inform themselves on the subjects. Both products have plenty of public info out on when they are coming. I’m NOT even interested in these 2 things and I know approximately when they are coming out, and why. Instead they just come here and complain and cry about it. Too many uninformed and foolish gamers nowadays. Very depressing.

But Grace, there is one game that’s important to me, and there IS not public info on the PSN version yet. And thats TMNT: Turtles in Time. “They” have had their exclusivity for a month now…..is there any word you can give on it’s ETA on PSN? Please answer one way or the other. I REALLY want that game ASAP. As a PS3 gamer I know to not put any stock in overly negative reviews with the way our exclusoves have all been overly bashed by critics just for being PS3 exclusive. I don’t care what “they” say. I want Turtles in Time Reshelled more than any other downloadable game. Info please.

  • Any chance the store could take advantage of the built in functionality of giving us a video preview of games before we buy them? Annoying to have to back out of the store and do an internet search for some thing that should be linked to the products.

  • Oooh, 4 demos? I’d say it was worth the wait. I love demos!

  • I was wondering last night when I only found 2 DLC’s as new. Hope the gremlins are banished.

Something that I haven’t seen in quite a while (and miss) are the Theatrical and BD trailers. Are they in video now, or have you stopped doing them to save a bit on bandwidth costs?

  • @112…they are in the Video Store updates (and not available to 10% of SCEA customers due to the ip block)

  • Thank you for explaining, Grace. It really does make a big difference. I’ll look forward to next Thursday, as usual. :)

  • I passed on Tomb Raider ($10, lol) but will buy TR2.

  • will we be getting more psp games considering the psp go launch is only like 1 month away?

  • It does everything…

except update the network on time. ;)

  • Holy feces. I’m all over SimCity 2000. Put that bad boy onto my PSP. That will make it the second copy for that system I own.

  • Man, this update f**kin’ sucks. What a s**tload of f**k.

I’m so glad I defected to Microsoft’s XBOX LIVE and Nintendo’s Virtual Console. Both of them give SOOOOOOO much better content than PSN’S bulls**t.

With updates like this, I hope that Sony or SCEA goes out of business. No support for the PSP I see, I bet the PSP GO will be a complete failure, just like SCEA’S certification process and customer service.

    F**K YOU SCEA!

  • @117 You do everything…except post clever comments.

  • Dam, 119 has to be the biggest Xbot ever. Must have made a PSN account on his PC. Being a brainwashed Xbot is the only reason someone could possibly bash such a good update in such an ignorant way.

They’re coming out in full force guys…..just like they do every single time PS3 is on a high note. They really are the lowest form of gamers in history. The ones that are fanboys like that are just scum….plain and simple.

  • nice update!!! Just waiting for RE2, and RE3!!

  • Wheres is the MGS:PW video… probably the best PSP game yet

  • lol @ the dudes hating on SCEA

  • @121

FYI I own all this of this-gen systems (XBOX360, WII, PS3, PSP 3000) Out of all their respective online services, XBOX LIVE has 10x more than what PSN store has, its a fact (e.g. KOF 98 UM, Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Shodown II, Double Dragon, TMNT Arcade Game, etc.) even the WII’S virtual console has more content than PSN. Why doesn’t PSN have any SNK Playmore fighters for that matter?

I’m just tired of seeing US/EUR PSN get crap, ok. Look at the JP PSN store, they have 10 times the PS1 classics that US PSN does. What the hell does that tell you, huh? SECA F**KING SUCKS PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to introduce my PS3 and PSP 3000 to the front tires of my car.

  • Ok, nice its up today AND good stuff!

Next time let us know here AND twitter, I was needlessly checking the store for awhile before I found out it was discussed on twitter that a delay had occured. Thats not right, use the blog for more than an advertisement medium.

Thanks for SIM CITY 2000! I love that game, still have a hard copy. I gotta have it on PSP now though.

On a final note, I’m looking forward to FallOut 3 DLC soon..

  • Hoping you guys consider letting 3.0 out a lil early ;)

  • @125…

You’ve threatend selling and destroing your PS products multiple times for multiple weeks.

    Please do it.

  • I have a question; What happened to the Upgrade Point Pack that was announced and dated to be released. But never released on the Playstation store?

    8.27.2009
    43. Upgrade Point Pack — Boost your abilities however you want with this hardcore stat set!
    2,500,000G, 1,000,000EP, 1000PP, and 5000TP means you’re pretty much invincible.

    44. Add G

    45. Add EP

    46. Add PP (1)

    47. Add TP

    48. Add PP (2)

Taken from the DLC section of the Cross Edge official website: http://nisamerica.com/games/crossedge/

  • @#96 – Zookey

The reason Battle Fantasia is getting a late and PSN-only release is because of SCEA, not that other company. SCEA demands all retail games have an English dub option, which was something to expensive to produce for a super niche game with a ton of dialogue. Apparently that rule doesn’t apply to digital releases.

  • not the best update, but not the worst either. keep up the good work. i’ll check out wet and pulse, and will definitely dl the batman theme.

    anyway, back to arkham…

  • Finally! A store update that has about everything i need… good job.

Now the bad part… you guys only update once a week and aren’t good at all with time consistency… ever. Would it kill you guys to update the store in the mornings? that way if you run into problems you have all day to attend the issues. Also, PROMOTE your stuff! Geez! It sucks that the ps blog has way more videos of upcoming games than the ps store.

  • I feel ya Awesome_Robot but I think the PS store a pretty good job as of right now, till firmware 3 drops.. Ill be satisfied till then..

  • Grace Chen,

Seeing as your in charge of the PlayStation Store, and its updates. Is there anyway on the descriptions of games within the store to post the games features ex. Voice Chat, Video Output, Leaderboards, and Multiplayer (Something like the information the back of the retal boxs have) so we can make a well informed purchase.

I know you guys/gals are always trying to make the PlayStation Store more accessable and this would be another great step in that direction.

Also please leave a comment if you can pass this on to the people in charge!

    Thanks

  • Id like to request that videos of all games being sold on the PSN be created showing game play. It would make it easier to decide whether or not they warrant being purchased.
At the very least, include screen shots of the games – not just game cover and a vague text description saying that “the game is cool”. As we move more to digital downloading, there needs to be a greater effort in providing a means for people to make an informed decision regarding their purchases. Especially in light that there is no refund for downloaded games.

PS – I already know about youtube, but it really should all be in house.

  • Great update! We’re still missing the Call of Juarez demo that Europe got a few weeks back. Hopefully that will be available next week.

And pay no attention to anyone banging their fists over the late update. This has happened maybe once before over three years. Anyone who can’t handle a one day delay is just too unreasonable. You can’t win with those people. They’ll always complain about what the don’t have rather than be thankful for what they do have.

  • Sweet update

  • Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on rock band!!!!! No reason to keep reading! Time to dust off the guitar.

  • @125

Your loss son. Sony already has your money. Good job throwing your money away

  • Anyone know if there is an official date on FW3.0? I seem to have Sept. 1st stuck in my head, though for the life of me can’t recall why.

  • how about adding a delete option on the download list? to delete things that shouldn’t show up there like the free demos

  • Hey Nice update!!! Im loving the Batman Theme!!!! I have a question though, any dates regarding the latest Firmware update? thxs for your time and keep up the good work!!! :D

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this update is really only good for the ps3!!!!!!!!!! where is the psp stuff? all we got was tomb raider 2, Cool Boarders 2, and simcity. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE can we get TONY HAWK PRO SKATER 1-4 ON THE PS! CLASSICS PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE US THOSE GAMES.

  • WHEN IS FALLOUT 3 DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT COMING?!?!?!!? HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT?!?!?!

  • This is getting old since I’ve played most of the demos already thanks to the UK store. I have no idea why Sony doesn’t do like live and release content as soon as its available also interact more with the community and your customers we should have gotten a heads up like with the maintenance on the PSN and why certain things can’t be done.

Canada still doesn’t have access to the video store and I understand there are reasons but seriously there not missing anything since most content is overpriced but then again I haven’t been on in a while but maybe when Sony adds adhoc or I get it setup again at home.

  • Wow, Seriously Sony. Publishing the store late is the same thing as shipping a game late.

IE: It costs you money and should NEVER HAPPEN. 3 years and you still don’t have your act together.

What are you going to do when the PSP Go launches and these people HAVE TO wait for the store to update before they can purchase anything?

Why are you so incapable of performing the simplest of tasks?

  • good update worth the wait

  • It’s nice to see the PlayStation store update again, and to see the PSOne Classics updated with at least 1 to 3 games a week, but I’m waiting for games like Soul Blade, Tekken 3, and many other PSOne Classics to come to the PlayStation Network. Keep the good work otherwise.

  • oh and i forgot what about the fifa 10 demo? fifa is my favorite game, so please update on fallout 3 dlc and fifa 10 demo.

  • Only thing that ticks me off is that….PSN updates for PSP suck worse on a daily basis. So, I get rock band addons ( i dont play that) and some wallpapers….yay. PSP GO where?
