MAG Meet-up at PAX Tomorrow Night!

122 0

As you read this, we’re off to Seattle for this weekend’s Penny Arcade Expo. The highlight (for us, at least), will be Friday’s MAG-themed PAX Meet-up, where we’ll be seeing some of you tomorrow night. We’re particularly excited that this’ll be the first time beta participants will be able to engage in a full-on, Only-On-PlayStation, 256-player mega-battle.

MAG Cologne Renders

We’re so excited, in fact, that we’d like some of you readers to join us even if you can’t make it to the Emerald City and our Now-Sold-Out-Even–Though-We-Weren’t-Selling-Tickets Event.

No matter where you may be this holiday weekend, we want you to join the Shadow War with Zipper Interactive developers and your fellow PS.Blog readers, so we’ll be giving away some super-exclusive MAG closed beta codes throughout the day via Twitter!

Here’s what you need to know:

Contest Instructions:

  • Follow us on Twitter!
  • The PlayStation Twitter account will tweet out 4 MAG-related questions throughout the day (9/3/2009). That’s TODAY.
  • The first 6 people to @reply the @SonyPlayStation account with the correct answer for each question will win a MAG beta code.
  • There will be 6 winners for each question – 24 winners total.
  • PlayStation will direct message the codes to the winners by the end of the day.

Giveaway Terms and Conditions:

  • US residents only.
  • The beta code winners will still be under a NDA (aka, you can’t write or blog about your experiences, or take screenshots, etc. We’ll know it was you!!)
  • PlayStation.Blog will giveaway 24 beta codes on Thursday, Sept. 3rd via Twitter.
  • One MAG question will be tweeted every hour starting at 10:00 am PT.
  • First 6 followers to @reply the @SonyPlayStation account with the correct answer get a beta code.

Well, it is on the hour. So you really only had to check in at 1, 2, 3, 4 (EST). But yes, people are definitely refreshing constantly there.

  • @Tux

Where are you looking to see if you made it within the first 6 or not?

  • Let’s hope that the 4th question is asked in a way that matches the answers.

  • @ILOVEPLAYSTATION3 … that could have been what they meant.

the easiest way to figure out if you are in the top six is to do a search in the trending area for @SonyPlaystation. the results are ordered by date, so the most recent will be first. Find your tweet, then see how many people tweeted the correct answer before you.

  • Excellent, 15 minutes before the last question, Twitter doesn’t seem to want to respond.

  • hmmm…they haven’t post the answer to the 3rd question and they are getting everybody ready for the last question. wonder why that is?

  • Seriously, I should’ve been like 3rd with the first question. My answer was “Ed Byrne Mike Gutmann”, was it because I forgot the & symbol? My twitter is Lurides68, I was using my mom’s twitter acount. This is the dumbest thing in the world, I’m switching to microsoft.

  • @Dead1yAssass1n- If that is what they meant, nobody else chose that as there answer…lol :D

I think everyone else got it right with the four choices and I got it wrong. I think whoever that is posting on twitter for the ps blog just messed up on that question. Either way, I got them all wrong or at least not fast enough.

  • i just realized that they have to be following you to see your answer? if that’s the case that’s messed up because i was ( i think i was) the 3 or 4th in the 2nd question…i answered right when it was up! …nice one sony …but then again they said by the end of the day people will get their codes….soo maybe they will see the people who want to be followed or whatever…. i hope so…this was soo confusing today….

  • It says in the requirements to follow them…

  • I was the second response to the 3rd question. My answer was “domination, acquisition, sabotage.” But the kick to the bal*z here is that i forgot the @sonyplaystation but included the #psbmag. Hopefully i get mine. =/

  • Nope because you have to be a follower as written in the requirements. ;)

  • @ ILOVELAYSTATION3 so i just have to be following them? just press follow and im good? that’s what i did =) i hope so lol

  • there’s always next time time haha

  • nice! cant w8!

  • Fix the 3.0 firmware Sony. Listen to your customers.

  • I just want to formally complain. The questions were worded fairly poorly. I got the second question right way before anyone else. Class simply means type of character (be it medic, soldier, demolitions). There has never been a game to use a different wording for it. Factions on the other hand are who you are fighting for or against. For example SAS and USMC. For me not to get a beta key because someones wording was wrong but mine was correct is unfair.

  • they should give the qore codes out early so we can be in the PAX thing too

  • Was the second responder to the second question and I still haven’t received my code. You should really release a list of usernames for the winners so we can at least know we’re getting a code.

  • Hey Jeff,
Do you got anything for Canadian residents??? And any update on the email issue?

  • Il choose valore in MAG

  • JEFF! It’s Nicole, from the meetup Friday night! I just wanted to let you know that the Sony Meet-up was, by far, the BEST part of PAX for Mike and me. It was great talking to you, playing MAG, and checking out the PSP GO, as well as getting to hang out with Amy. The rest of the weekend was fun, but really that was the highlight. Also, I wanted to send you this link:

    http://shirt.woot.com/friends.aspx?k=9497

It’s the woot shirt I was telling you about, though it appears to be sold out. I was also going to send you the link for the $9 threadless shirts yesterday but I figured you already knew about that!

Again, thanks a million, and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the weekend!

    -Nicole
