Included in this special package is the game, exact in-game replica of the Phurba Dagger Artifact and stand, Collectible Art Book and Collector case autographed by Naughty Dog, plus a host of downloads.
And part of what makes the Fortune Hunter Edition a real fan collectible is that you can’t buy it — you can only win it! There will be several ways to win including right here on the Blog. Stay tuned as we’ll have more details on that in the very near future!
I both respect, and lament your decision to make it only obtainable by luck in the future. I respect that you made it actually so unique instead of scrapping for a few bucks extra on a cheep collectors edition, yet lament it because I will almost certainly not be winning one. Just as with your Jak series case. As much as I desire this, I have already abandoned the hope of winning such a thing. But hey, so long as I still get to get the game, you guys are the number one reason I still have faith in the current game industry.

This looks awesome! Expect me to be here trying with all I got to win one! Uncharted 1 was incredible, and Uncharted 2 looks even better, Naughty Dog looks like they’ve really done fantastic as usual. One question, when do we get the chance to win them?
I had an extra code for the beta of U2 previously from Infamous and Qore that I gave to my friend at work. He never plays online shooters but was ADDICTED to the beta as was I. We both pre-ordered today at Gamestop during lunch to get in the next beta. He is going to be stoked about this as I. That was one more customer ND hooked during the beta. Yes, the multiplayer is that fun! Now I can’t wait even more for the beta! Score!
This is sad for many of us, especially ones living outside the u.s.(not me of course) So how about throwing us at least “a host of downloads” Whatever that suppose to mean?! To us Uncharted fans.
Strange. I am not a fan of 3 of the “items” that come with the preorders (beta, and those that affect multiplayer gameplay), to me it would seem smart to get the extra cash from collectors edition instead of making pre-orders so important.
I’d try to win this but i know its pretty unlikely. Some lucky guy somewhere will get it along with his already preordered game.

Awesome! Kind of… or something. I love giveaways! But Naughty Dog, won’t you please accept our money? Although honestly, I wouldn’t buy it. It’s not that I don’t really want it, but I couldn’t afford it. It’s hard enough buying regular editions at $60. So hopefully I win so I know my first collector’s edition of a video game is a great one! :)
I agree that this is ridiculous.
Are you really going to exclude the people who are diehard fans of your work from enjoying this special edition based on a contest of chance and timing? In a slew of poor marketing decisions from gaming companies recently, this may be the worst. Outright alienating your fan base. Did no one involved with this brilliant project see what an exclusionary idea this is?
I am truly flabbergasted by this. I swear I just saw an interview with Evan or Amy or Christophe where they talked about how important the community is to Naughty Dog. Those words ring hollow when the actions tell another story. Shame on you guys.

I’d love to be able to buy this but there is no way i’d be able to win this thing. It just makes me mad that the people that do win this won’t even want the thing they will probably just put it on ebay to make a quick buck, and the true fans will have to pay rip off prices to get one.

I disagree with anybody complaining. THIS IS TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL! Only the fans will be winning this because you will be in the beta. To get in the beta, you have to preorder. Usually it is the fans that put down money early on preorders, nonfans just stumble into the game at stores and say, “That looks cool!” BRING ON THE CONTEST!

The art book and dagger…ok win those….but to miss out on “a host of downloads”? If I miss out on behind the scenes docs, or skins, or weapons, or music files because I couldn’t time it right to win…I will be very put off by Naughty Dog as a company!!

At least I get to play the game. I’m wettin myself but, that’s awesome for whoever will get it as a collectible. Barry Bonds home run ball was worth millions. Definately rare. But, its awesome to know some DLC will be coming out. Further adds to a Blu-ray that’s using everything its got to please its gamers. Way to go Naughty Dog! Your glory days in the sun…. Again! I hope there isn’t some extremely difficult online trophy that prevents you from getting a platinum trophy, a ton of games do that and that’s why the first Uncharted was fun, they had fun single player trophies that weren’t impossible.
