Thats it im piss at the update SONY!!!!! Now put back the friends list back to the way it was before, take out the two ps store icons under the game and video categories, and put back the original ps3 tone when you start up a game!!! realy i want to play cod 4 online and i cant, even when i want to play with my bro in splitscreen i cant. its my favorite game and the font dont talk abouut it, it sucks realy.

This is what i noticed so far.
PS3 Slim Firmware 3.00 Street Fighter IV
When Zangief is selected with the alternate costume it freezes everytime in VS. screen, or kicks me back to the Dashboard.
Does anyone has similar issues?

I like some of the new features like buddies being in boxes since most of my backgrounds are bright so it is hard to read. I wish i could figure out how some of the other things added but I cannot get on my PS3 without it freezing either right at the start, when the XMB is loading, or from 1-30 minutes of starting any game.
Any help or a quick fix update is much appreciated!

Don’t care about 3.0. It’s not THAT bad. It seems it’s just become a focus of the hatred people already had for the services provided at this time. Especially with that upstir with EA vs Sony on XGC the other week, without any proper closure for the public on the issue I should imagine there’s still tension between Sony and the consumer, and there’s always going to be untill we get Cross Game Chat.
Sony please bring back the “PLAYSTATION 3” game boot screen. I loved that sound, even if its the new “PS3” logo, i’ll be happy. I’m sure everyone agrees and wishes to have it back! So please SONY listen to your fans!!!

MAG has been freezing since wednesday and some think it could be the 3.00 FW doing it.
And can we at least be able to change the appearance the of currently grey boxes that takes up 1/3rd of my tv screen? >.>

Please answer one question:
Why are you trying to fix something that wasn’t broken in the first place? I didn’t see any users complain about firmware 2.80… then why screw-up with 3.0?
I don’t think that the Sony guys really test their firmware on online gaming before release..
Please keep this in mind for future releases:
When adding new fancy features which are welcomed, please make sure that the core funcationality and stability of the system remains intact (or if possible, improved upon).
Just my 2 cents..
BTW, till there is an update to fix this mess, I can’t play BF 1943 or Fight Night without experiencing freeze-up issues.

Til now I haven’t experienced any issues with 3.0…not even BF 1943, as rasulharin reported. Also I don´t care about psstore logo everywhere or gray boxes on friends. You are complaining a lot for nothing, but………
There is no reason for 3.0 whatsoever.
2.8 was fine, and the only new feature I was curious about is dynamic themes. Sadly, only one was available at launch, and it is very expensive for what it is. I hope there will be new themes for free. Causing so many problems for everyone because sony wants to charge for new features no one asked about is just sad. If at least there was something really interisting like xbla… :(
By the way… 2.7 and 2.8 were useless as hell. Their release had no purpose at all, and every time another firmware is released, everyone gets nervous about what problem it can cause…Make yourselves a favor, and release a new firmware if it will worth A LOT or if it is REALLY NECESSARY
Good to know the bugs are getting worked out. Here’s one I haven’t heard about yet that’s been annoying me:
My PS3’s video output keeps getting reset so that every time I turn it on it runs in SD and asks if I want to switch to HDMI. Even when I set everything the way I want it resets when I turn the system off.
i just want uncharted back :(

I have been a big 360 guy. But i finally bought a new ps3 slim. I get home today and plug it in. Install the new update and guess what. I CANT LOG INTO THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK. Yea this is a great first impression im getting sony. Now i have Killzone 4 and cant play online. Good way for me to spend 350 bucks. I should of just stuck with my dam 360.

Have you gone into Network Settings under the settings section? It doesn’t automatically connect to the internet. Now if you’ve done this already, ignore this post. Maybe there’s something screwy with the slims.
I’ve also had a problem gaming online with Modern Warfare since firmware 3.00 appeared. As soon as I select find game I get the ‘Downloading settings…’ message. After about 15 minutes I then get a message saying I need to be signed into the PlayStation Network. Most annoying!
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can get round this?
I sure hope you guys at SONY really mean what you are saying here and fix this MESS!!!! Never had a problem with any of my games before untill now, with the new update. Some of my games freeze up while playing and can not continue playing the game. also the trophy and friends list take forever to bring up now. Seems like you guys DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!
It’s been giving me an error code 800f2997, i’ve tried saving the update on my usb and it kept saying file corrupted, i don’t even want to start with the online procedure.

At least you guys can get into the network, i just stopped playing for three weeks and this is what i get. I dont even wanna imagine what they’ve done to killzone.
There I was, happily playing along on my new PS3 slim. The firmware update seemed fine until my shiny new Drake’s Fortune game started to freeze up every 2 minutes after reaching chapter 4.
At least it’s consistant and freezes up at the same point over and over again.
I guess Sony meant isolating in stead of isolated incidents. :p
I’m just adding to the stats I guess. I also got knocked off the PS network multiple times yesterday and actually froze up to the point where I had to reset the system 3 times.
Extremely frustrating over a 3 hour period – but I’m glad to find out it should be correctable. I’m not sure how adding the PS Store to every common menu is going to make me want to go there to buy something – I view it more as a major annoyance like those pop-over advertisements on the web. After a while I find a new site to provide similar info.
good news! I hope there will be PS3 logo when game is starting! or at least we can decide to enable or diable it!

Lesser posts receive almost instantaneous replies to feedback, yet we’re still awaiting an official response to some very serious issues.
A quick ‘we’ve noted your feedback and are discussing ways to move forward’ response would ease a vast amount of anger and frustration.
It’s almost as if Sony doesn’t care about the voice of their customer base.

New possible issue with 3.0 update.
My Infocus 5700 projector was working fine with my ps3 up to the minute I installed the new update. After rebooting the ps3 I no longer get an image through the projector, sound yes and recognizes the 1080p signal but just black screen. All other projections via other media sources fine, so lamps fine. Just coincidence or not. Rehooked ps3 up to Hd t.v. and works fine there. Any one else?
i cant purchase a darn thing credit card info invalid??? i’ve used the same card since launch date on 2 60gig ps3 thanxs for 3.0
please explain to me Sony how can i use the same credit card on 2 original 60gig ps3 since launch date and now since u have put out firm 3.0 all i get is card is invalid when i re-enter information last time used was night b-4 patch
i installed 3.0 and now the only games playable are ps2 try to play ps3 games and keeps coming up with 800 errors so i called sony and they said to send them 247.00 and they would fix the problem ie remove version 3.0 even though my ps3 is still under warranty how can they justify charging someone for there mistakes thank god for wiis and 360s

Like I said before, I’m giving you Sony time until the end of next week. If 3.0 isn’t rolled out or FIXED, I’m ending my PS3 experience.
Like i said in my above post i just bought my ps3 slim. Is thier any way to go back to the old firmware. I tired formating it and still 3.0. i dont have any content to worry about cuz the system is only 24 hours old. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
