We’re less than a month out from the launch of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves and we’re starting to see reviews come in. We just received the November issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine in the studio which has the first world review of UNCHARTED 2. Subscribers should have this issue in the mail any time now and, if you don’t have a subscription, you can pick up a copy from newsstands in the next couple of weeks.
Cracking open the issue, which features UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves as its cover, we were totally thrilled to see that our game received a perfect 5/5 AND the Editors’ Choice award for the month! We’ve been working incredibly hard over the past two years to make UNCHARTED 2 the best game we’ve made yet and we’re all smiles to hear that we’re not the only ones who think we’ve got something really great on our hands.
You’ll have to pick up your own copy to read the ten full pages of UNCHARTED 2 details, but in the meantime here’s an image of the cover to serve as a preview:
I’m pretty sure just reading reviews of our game won’t be enough to hold you over until we launch on October 13, so be sure to check out our Multiplayer Demo. If you pre-ordered UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves through GameStop, then your early access to the demo starts tomorrow and runs up until just prior to the launch of our game. If you haven’t pre-ordered, the Multiplayer Demo opens up to everyone via a PlayStation Network download on September 29.

Wow…this game truly looks incredible. I will be playing that demo the second I get home tomorrow, and trying my luck at a Fortune Hunter’s edition, but I already know I won’t win (I suck at online multiplayer). Looks 11x better than Drake’s Fortune and I’m truly excited for Oct. 13. A 5/5 is just the beginning…and I’m actually HOPING that IGN will score this game 10/10. Still, I have no idea how Uncharted 3 could possibly surpass Uncharted 2 in graphics. I think both titles would have to be of equal scale. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Naughty Dog will develop Jak IV on PS3. And by the way High Impact Games, I absolutely LOVE how you pay attention to the plot. If Daxter were exposed to dark eco again, wouldn’t he change into a dark maker? Whatever, I’ll likely hate the game anyways for trying to be everything that it can’t.

I asked arne earlier today through psn (he is on my friends list from the beta) and he doesn’t know when it is going up.
Probably because it is done through sony’s side on psn, not Naughty dog, but things like this in the past have gone up at midnight PST
I know the game is good and will receive good scores, but how come someone buy anything from OPM for Playstation games?

Pre-ordered a month or so ago. After seeing videos, reading articles, and thoroughly playing through the MP beta earlier on, it was apparent this was going to be a mega-blockbuster. Not one of those games where it seems like the media is holding back a bit on coverage or aren’t themselves getting the full experience to sample so you can tell the game will end up being a crap game like Kane & Lynch was.
It had all these sweet screenshots and neat squad mechanics and it just ended up being what looked like a PS2 game with sloppy gameplay associated to a disturbing yet intriguingly compelling story. Up there with biggest launch day mistake purchase of my life..
You can tell when some games are bonafide hits. I just hope some gems aren’t over looked amongst Modern Warfare 2. Save your money now people, it’s going to be a happy holiday when you’re PS3s are stuffed with premium gaming.

Sony, fix 3.0, please. It’s crap. Friends list needs to be improved, the ticker needs to be disabled, and the lock-ups need to be fixed.
Also:
-Cross game voice chat
-Party invites
-Improved Web Browser that actually works smoothly and doesn’t lock up the console (WebKit based maybe). This is even more important now that so many things use it.
I’m really excited for this game, mainly because I tried my hand at making games and all the tech really impresses me. The lengths they go for small details such as hair moving in the wind, clothing getting wet when raining or when a character goes in water. The only other truly great cinematic games with a great balance of story and gameplay that I can think of is the first Uncharted and some of the Metal Gear Solid games.
My purchase only depends on one thing. Is there a twist at the end like in Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Because despite what some said about it, I really enjoyed the darker theme and nice odd twist. Gave the game more heart and creativity instead of constantly fighting pirates 24/7……
This better not disappoint and be all pirates……
(Although I have a bad feeling its nothing but drake vs. people now……)
def. game of the year. I cant wait for it to be released. Please give the fortune hunter edition to deserving fans, such as people who platinumed the first. dont make this a big marketing scheme so people reserve at terrible gamestop, a place that gives you less than 1/3rd on a new game. please naughty dog look out for the little guy. I love that you already made things exclusive for America. Given our psn store is the worst and gets everything last. All and all i love you naughty dog and playstation. Dont give in to marketing. I appreciated all you gave to me even when you were losing the system wars.

Did they go into detail about how the single player mode has been gimped because of the time and effort spent on the pointless multiplayer mode?
From what i’ve seen and played of Uncharted 2 so far i feel confident that this is going to be one of the best games of all time.
Now i’m just waiting for the demo until i can pick up my preorder =)

Congrats on the review the game looks awesome and I can’t wait to play it, but I’m getting a little frustrated with the demo multi-player dates being changed. On the back of the card that I received with the code for the demo it says valid from 8/19/2009 to 9/18/2009 so I said to myself ok cool I’ll just wait til 8/19 to play the demo, well didn’t work found out it was changed to the 5th of September. I said cool I’ll try it then, didn’t go through again. Then it was changed to the 15th at this point I’m pissed because not only is it not working but I found out that they have a Hunters Edition that has to be won and can’t be bought which really sucks because I’m a SE collector I love going after the best ones but I don’t think I’ll be able to get this one cause I’ll be working….oh well I’m sure someone will have it up on Ebay for sale.

I preordered Uncharted 2 and got my beta code from Play.com last night. Having already played and enjoyed the previous beta, I couldn’t wait for more and this new beta delivers in spades! I can only imagine the amount of content that’s gonna packed into the full game!
To me Uncharted 2 is already a GOTY contender. I don’t need any reviews to tell me that. I only request that fellow PS3 owners buy game when it comes out and reward Naughty Dog for the hard work they have put into developing it. I really hope it gets the critical and commercial success it deserves.

The original Uncharted didn’t have as much internet chatter about it, when I first played it, it was like I discovered a genuine PS3 treasure. Great gameplay, setting, and acting. I can’t wait for Uncharted 2,
