MAG Beta Test for Qore Subscribers Launching Thursday

Here’s an update about the status of the MAG Public Beta email vouchers. The first wave of voucher codes for the MAG Beta will be e-mailed to all current Qore subscribers beginning today and continuing over the next few days. Follow the instructions so that you’ll be ready to download the Beta and jump in when the test starts this Thursday, September 17. The email subject line will be:

“You’re in: Welcome to the MAG Beta”

And, the email voucher will look like this:

Remember, you only have 4 days left to get in on the action as the Public Beta entry deadline for Qore subscribers is this Thursday, September 17. Please allow at least 5 business days for delivery once you subscribe.

Qore subscribers will have access to the MAG Beta Test from September 17 through November 8. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10am-1pm and 5-8pm Pacific (PDT).

Once again, here are the eligibility requirements:

  • The Qore MAG Beta offer is open to Qore subscribers only, not to single episode purchasers.
  • All Beta invitations are restricted to persons 18 years and older.
  • We must have your current, valid e-mail address on file.
  • You must be opted in to receiving communications from PlayStation.
  • Vouchers will be sent to the e-mail associated with the PSN account that purchased the Qore subscription, not to any sub-accounts.

You can update your e-mail address and check your notification preferences via your profile on PS.com or on the PS3 itself under Account Management/Account Information. Be sure that you have “opted in” to receive our communications.

We hope you enjoy the MAG Beta, and don’t forget to leave your feedback at Beta Central by following the instructions in the voucher e-mail. As this is a Beta is a work-in-progress and not representative of the final game, your input is vital.

  • This game better be good or I am done with Sony. Zipper better have given up Socom to Slant6 for a good reason. Do not get me wrong Socom looks great, but where is the dlc, vehicles and come on who really wanted to play Frost Fire or DG with 32 people? Slant6 sold us a polished version of an old game. Horrible level design like quarantine and an image of some DLC snow map that has yet to be released. By now if the DLC aint free it aint for me.

    I reluctantly purchased Qore, because we no it aint for the literal mag, but I paid for MAG. That means 90bucks I will have spent on this game if I purchase at release. Hopefully this beta will help me decide whether or not it is worth it. I understand it is a work in progress, but if the beta aint good look for my ps3 on an auction site.

    If any devs are listening, and they would like the game to appeal to all of their loyal fans by all means allow the camera angle to be changed to 3rd person. You do not want to alienate the entire Socom verse by binding the camera to first person. I can play versatile but die hard Socom fans will this title just because of the camera view.

  • i have a question. i know that many questions have been answered. the only one that kevin didnt specify clearly is if you subscribe on the 17th does it takes five days, or or does it take five days if you subscribe before the 17th as well? i subscribed to qore on the 14th and havent reveived a code , but im assuming that it will take five days from the 14th for me to receive the email. hope someone has an answer. thanks.

  • @256: Read the post. You can get into the Public Beta by subscribing to Qore. You will not get into the Beta if you just get one eps, you must get a subscription.

    Damn still no beta codes… Damn I’m impatient. Exactly how long will relatively new subscribers have to wait to get the codes? I got Qore at the beginning of the month, so I don’t know how early or late that puts me.

    I have a situation. I bought the latest episode of Qore, “Episode 16 September 2009”. In this episode I learned that every subscriber before September 17th will have access to MAG beta, which made me decide to subscribe. When I tried to do this it tells me “There are no items that you can purchase at this time”.

    I really need to subscribe before September 17, so please someone tell me what can I do to solve this problem.

    I appreciate any help.

    Could you create a new user on your PS3? You would have to use a different e-mail address (gmail?) but link it to the same credit card for payment purposes. This might work.

    I know that I don’t see Qore episodes in the Store (as a current subscriber), but when my son logs into his account on the same PS3, he can see the icons for Qore episodes on the Store because his user ID isn’t tagged as a subscriber.

  • I have a question I hope someone can answer. Is there a limited amount of these codes for Qore subscribers or is it suppossed to be everyone who fits this criteria? According to the woman I spoke with at 1-800-345-7669, it is something like 28,000 codes that are being distributed. Is it possible I was not selected or should I be expecting one since I match this criteria and have yet to receive a code?

  • I got a question that no one has seemed to address… Will all the factions be available for play on this beta? I was watching some beta videos on youtube and in all of them I’ve only seen Raven,and Valor. I am so stoked to play as S.V.E.R, running around a battlefield in a hockey mask=win!

    As long as you subscribe to Qore before or ON Thursday, you will eventually get a code. Give it a few days because the 2nd wave is going out right now.

  • so what is the deal with the restricted access only available mon-fri 10AM-1PM PDT, 5PM-8PM PDT…………that just sucks I bout the qore subscription just for this beta and now you are telling me there aren’t even weekend hours/. Hell I don’t know about everyone else but I work mon-fri and not playing video games……

    please tell me you are going to change this if not I’m very pissed, but I’m probably still buying the game.

  • I have a question is the beta have an ip filter like the metal gear online beta because i have my code but i have to go outside USA for 1 month can i play from out side the state or i have no luck at all

  • those hours of availibility suk i work from 11 am central time until 1 am m-friday so evidentily i wont get to play unless by some miracle i can squeeze in a sik day, that bites

  • FYI you can start to download it now i just entered my code and its working so go ahead and download away folks… dont think you can sign on and play yet.. but at least we can download it before so we can be ready to play at 1pm EST
