Hello! It’s good to be back with the SingStore update!

SingStar - Blondie "Rapture"

Some great tracks this week from Blondie with ‘Rapture’, Spandau Ballet’s ‘Through The Barricades’ and ‘Here Comes your Man’ by The Pixies. Please check out the whole list of tracks and artists below.

The SongPack this week comes courtesy of the amazingly talented Dizzee Rascal including ‘Dance Wiv Me’, ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’ and his latest hit single with Armand van Helden, ‘Bonkers’.

To everybody who downloaded the Coldplay 2 SongPack: If you could delete and re-download it, the medley should definitely be working now! Sorry for the delay with fixing this one.

Also a big thanks to Erin for filling in for me two weeks ago!

Keep on singing and see you soon,

Nina x

And by \’you own the rights\’ you probably mean Sony Music? Unfortunately the prefix of SONY doesn\’t automatically mean we get treated any different to anyone else :( – It\’s a seperate company!

Who gives a rats you know what!

Instead of this garbage, how about filling the consumer in on what point Sony is at on fixing the 3.0 firmware issues?

We deserve a time frame.

I love singstar, and have more than 100 songs (Singstar, Singstar 2, Singstar Country, and 81 DLC), but I have to say I have been less than happy with the DLC support since the honeymoon period of Singstar on the PS3. I am getting tired of the same songs, and do not want to reach for barely entertaining DLC for play with my friends. I have had many friends who after playing Singstar with me say how much fun they had, and consider getting a PS3 just for this game, however without better updates how can I recommend to them they buy it?

Oh-what I wouldn’t give for Singstar Disney! or even the ability to rip songs to my library from PS2 or PS3 singstars. Or even an easy way to upgrade to a PS3 slim and keep all my Singstar DLC (which I may have to do the ‘hard way’ noted in other update comments, as I am nearing HD capacity) And of course wireless mics would be nice too :)

As I have become increasing frustrated over the last few months, it has become more and more likely that I will be buying rockband, just for the better available DLC content/song selection (that is a $200 investment on my part just to switch games!).

continued….

I felt it was important to post and give Sony the opportunity to read about my frustration with their lacking support for what I believe is an entertaining and fun game. In my opinion by not providing better songs on a constant basis Sony is losing substantial potential income, which can be important, especially in these economic times. Based on EU updates I might have 20+ more DLC songs as every update there seem to be 2-3 songs I would love to have

Please provide US Singstar with increased DLC support. I realize that SCEA is doing their best to get us the content we want, but it just isn’t good enough anymore, and I am tired of waiting.

I’ll be back later today and see if I can shed some more light on things (NOT on the wireless mics though as nothing has changed from when I last posted about this) :)

Speak soon,

Hopefully, you will be able to get to my question. I just want to know if there will ever be a way to upload media from Singstar PS2 games, or make them available from Sing Store. Currently, I have a lot of PS2 items on the local drive, but it can not be uploaded to my profile.

This week on the SINGSTORE…

Absolutely NOTHING

I Have come to a conclusion that since this is SCEE game . We at NA will continue to get NOTHING . What a joke this has turn out to be, especially when sony is a music GIANT .

“” THIS HAS BEEN A JOKE SINGSTAR “”

This is coming from the people that supported your games. You see what the community wants and all you can do is will pass this along. When you have one of those meetings about what songs thats needs to get license . Is there one intelligent person in there that can stand to these people and say those song sucks can we have these instead .

HORRIBLE

Everytime I look at the list of updates for EU I’m like I want that, that, and that and then look at our list and I’m like I want, hmm…. Nothing. Like a previous person said why do you hate us so much that you guys don’t want to try your hardest to get us what the others have gotten their players of their country. It just seems like you guys have the feeling of as long as you get paid for your time why put in an effort to work hard.

I’m sorry but that’s just how I feel as all these good songs keeps coming out but of course not for us. I just never really rush to look what’s coming as usually it’s either delayed or there’s just stuff and people I’ve never even heard of.

But I can I do love the game I play it at least once a week but I probably would play often if tree were better songs.

Also I’d like to see more Pink songs. You some but not the ones I really like.

Many of us do not want to have to go through the hassle of importing things (and paying extra)

I dont believe you can play UK content on a US game.

+ rowlystravel on September 15th, 2009 at 1:37 pm said:

sigmaken, you can as long as your tv can display PAL, i believe you wont get trophies until the game is officially released though ( i may be wrong)

with regard to the mics, you either want them or you don’t, all im saying is there is no point everyone having a go at nina when you can order them online if you really want to..

71

+ Sigmakan on September 15th, 2009 at 1:49 pm said:

I think you may be wrong about the PAL thing, but considering I dont have first hand experience with this I can’t really be a judge of that.

Also, I really do not think its crazy to ask for wireless mics when other regions have them. HOWEVER, people attacking Nina is completely assinine. She has no control over most the news she reports (I mean that in a nice way :) ). Its quite disheartening to see people attack her so harshly.

72

+ rowlystravel on September 15th, 2009 at 1:54 pm said:

i agree. serious about the PAL though, it is correct, the PS£ switches between PAL and NTSC and/or SECAM at will… the only thing the PS3 cant do is change your physical TV, in Europe the vast majority of our TVs or VCRs/DVDs are designed to be multiregion which means we can watch any american stuff or french stuff (france uses SECAM)

i use USA singstars with nay problem… try it!! you may be surprised.. the best way to test is to get a european song from the singstore. pm me i will explain how, and try it that way.. worst case scenario you lost less than a buck fifty!! bosh…

we should start a Save Nina campaign… btw Nina, how about some foo fighters, or some of the US singstar amped stuff making its way to Europa!!

i don’t think people would care if the update for the US is late since there’s not much songs to download from in the first place. I remember before, it’s always late, n then we’d get “more” songs even though it’s from previously skipped updates. haha.

But yea, i gave up on singstar, there is no hope for the US singstore. =(

Update is late again? Is this going to become a standard? The US store gets less songs, and it’s late? Is this a sign that the US Singstore is on its last breath? I was just checking the european Singstore, and there are songs there I would kill to have: Keane, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Morrissey… they even got Lady Gaga this week. The european Singstar site is awesome, too. You can browse the songs, see what’s new… the US deserves a site like that.

I think it’s very disrespectful of SCEA to leave it in Nina’s hands to deal with us, since she’s from SCEE and can never give us a direct answer to our questions… it’s time that SCEA takes responsibility for what they’re doing — or not doing — with Singstar in the US.

Nina-Over here! How exactly do you guys go about choosing songs and getting their rights. Why can’t you guys just release the massive collection Sony has to offer (Michael Jackson) and also why no untie the internal stores. I find it really annoying I have to buy the Queen disk when it could simply be DLC, like it is in the UK store. Also how about some Latin American(Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Bachata, Etc.) music as oppose to just Spanish music. Love the concept of singstar and it has so much potential but these simply issues can be fixed with a little logic.

Dear Nina,

I’m a 58 year old newbie and I’ve been frustrated with the preponderance of difficult to sing and obscure songs in Sinstore, I’ve purchased an Outcast song so I’m not a complete dork! But I was just wondering if it is even possible to include the occasional American standard video by Sinatra, Bennett, Garland, and others. There’re lots of contemporary singers of standards too! I think Singstar is making a big mistake thinking that only pop songs of the last 30 years will sell. There are a lot of frustrated singers out there (like me) who would love a chance to try their hand at some old fashioned melodies. We have money and we will buy!
Thanks.

+ Senjutsu_Dav on September 20th, 2009 at 12:02 pm said:

Simple, to have the best songs, you could simply copy the soundtrack of guitar hero new games for exemple. The songs are way better, at least for an american audience. More of groups like “The Fray”, “The Killers”, “blink 182″, “Linking Park”, “Green Day”, “Good Charlotte”, Faber Drive, Smash Mouth, etc…

Right now there is way too much european songs that none of us know or wanna sing. I mean, you would do more cash listening to us more, because we’d buy those songs…

The new Karoake Revolution game comes out in Nov. 17th. If the Singstore hasn’t given any good songs I’ll stop playing Singstar. The new revolution game has licensed songs and they are going to have downloadable songs as well. I’m sick of swapping discs and not having even one song that I want when the store updates with the crappy euro songs that we don’t want. Would it kill you guys to put out a Singstar Black Sabbath?

I’m from Argentina, obviously, besides we have great artists, it wouldnt be possible ever have a Singstar Song included at Singstore… But at least we would Like to have Songs from Latin American Artists like:

- Chayanne, Ricardo Arjona, Luis Miguel, Ricardo Montaner, Shakira, etc…

Please think about us, we are aprox. 200.000 users, who download songs from Singstar, and growing each day…

It was a pleasure… AND PLEASE ADD LATIN AMERICAN SONGS!!!! THANKS..!!!

Hi Nina. I agree with jonathanpiferrer. I am mexican. I really like argentinan groups. It is possible to add songs like “El Gran Señor” or “Besandote” performed by “Los Autenticos Decadentes” or “Vasos Vacios”, “Calaveras y Diablitos” performed by “Los Fabulosos Cadillacs” or “Musica Ligera” perfomed by Soda Estereo? There are to many great songs in Spanish, not only in coming from Spain. Just as a start you can put in the store the songs from Singstar Latino(PS2) and the songs from Singstar Clasicos (Also for PS2, the one which has songs like “Olvidame y Pega la Vuelta – Pimpinela”, “Soy Rebelde – Jeanette” and “Me Gustas Mucho – Rocio Durcal”. Please put this kind of music in the store. We beg you. Thanks.
