  • Just thought ud want to know, ZOMBIE APACALPSE is no longer available on the store. The demo is, but the game isn’t. Is it just cuz the game sux? Thanx

  • What happened to the supposed 225 odd PSP games we were supposed to get on launch day? I’m not math whiz, but this doesn’t seem like anywhere near even 200. Where is Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops? Where is Dissidia? Do you honestly want to further rock the boat on an already controversial platform by not even providing the the best PSP games for us Go users to download? I have 30 days after purchase to return my Go and don’t think I won’t do so if there’s no sign of either of these titles coming.

  • Nice Job on implementing cell phone tethering for the psp go, its one of those features that add real value to the go, and help justify the price of the unit. I have two questions:

    – Will we be able to wirelessly tether the go to a cell phone using bluetooth for an internet connection?

    – Can a cell phone bluetooth headsets be paired with the go for use with skype?

  • I’m thrilled with the update, it’s going to be hard deciding what to play first.

But please guys, you’ve GOT to bring Lumines to PSN!!

  • [This post ONLY refers to this week’s PS Store for PSP Update.]

Holy crap! This has to be the biggest PS Store for PSP update I’ve ever seen. I’m definitely buying Tetris and Prinny as soon as I return home from work. Thanks for the update.

  • Where is Trine?! i was going to buy it but now its too late. Theres Demons souls coming next week and then uncharted and theres almost 1 game each week for 2 months.

Very nice update for the PSP tho.

  • Trine.

Any word on this? It was going to be a day one purchase for me, but the longer it takes…. next week I will have Demon’s Souls, and then eventually Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend… the snowball continues.

The likelihood of buying Trine drops every week!

  • What an update! *claps*

    Give me more ps1 classics!
    ps1 rules!

  • Forgot to say, please release Croc (ps1 classics)

    Platforming fun!

Also, don’t forget Tomba and Klonoa!

True ps1 fans love platformers, please get to it SCEA!

  • Early morning update? i love you guys/gals :)

  • Will there be a discounted bundle pack for Fallout 3 DLC? I plan to get them all but $50 is tough to justify.

  • Lmao @ $40 for a digital copy of a psp game. Shouldn’t it be cheaper? Seeing as there’s no distributing costs and no pressing of the discs? Jeez Sony.

  • the bball community is waiting for the nba2k10 demo… please update the us / eu store

  • Wow! That’s…that’s a lot more than I was expecting PSP games to cost. I’m going to hold off of the PSPgo now until I see if the games become more fairly priced.

  • Re: PSP Minis.

Listen sony, I know that you guys are afraid of iTunes and it’s games. I completely understand that.

What I don’t understand is why you guys thought it would be a good idea to charge DOUBLE THE PRICE for Fieldrunners on the PSP than it is on iTunes. (It’s 2.99 on iTunes fyi)

That’s not how you compete effectively.

  • Add Final Fantasy 8 to the ps1 classics please.

  • So, can we expect Store updates this early in the future or is this just a PSPgo launch thing. I really hope could at least update by 3 AM EST (12 PST). Therefore, when everyone wakes up, we’re good to go.

  • @ Twooh , is’t the publisher deciding the pricepoint for some of these games? i wouldn’t blame sony for a third part setting their price at $40, they do so at their own hazard. I wouldn’t point the finger at Sony here.

  • @Grace Chen can you guys please just saturate us with PS One Classics in a future update like you did with the PSP games? I want to see 200 PS One Classics in a random update. I hate the slow rate you guys are releasing them.

Thanks! Keep up the good work!

  • Great, Um Jammer Lammy I always wanted to play it.

Please add previews to every content (screens and or video)

  • not to knock it but this update really isnt that great if u think about it. i mean for starters sony screwed up on pricing… again why are some games the exact price point of their retail release there is no logic to justify this as the gamer is faaaaar cheaper to distribute. also the system is a joke. 16gb for 250 with no touch or accelerometer(which we be great for locoroco) just isnt feasible. i mean think about it if u put even 4 or 5 psp games up there u wouldnt have much room left for anything else especially since their marketing as a n all in one device. the price point is at least $100 too much for this cheap product. and yes i have actually tested with one and no i dont want to switch i’m still stuck on the 1000 fat model to tell u the truth. mine is modded and yes i have several games saved to my memory stick. i know its technically illegal but i never store a game that i have not legally purcahsed first. do people even realize that they just stole ideas from the homebrew and packed it in a cheaper psp. oh yeah and they charge u more for it. just sayin i can do most of these features in my hacked psp anyway so why would i switch.

  • @IMPROPERLYAGED

accelerometer/touch??? this is a slimmed down psp1, not a psp2. why are people getting this twisted?

  • ummm… geez thanks for UmJammer Lammy now my girlfriend’s never gonna stop playing my PS3.

  • HOLY %$#^! Wow! [Explitive Here]!

This is a huge freaking update. For today, my interests lie with NIS’s titles, but between this store update, the Home update, the Media Go update and quite a few other things, consider the PlayStation Network ON FIRE!

  • I was planning on buying tetris but not for ten bucks. I’ll just keep playing it on my gameboy.

  • Amazing Update for PSP.

  • nice!! brutal legend :)
    thank you

  • WOW, that is an impressive update and I’m sure there will be many buyers out there. However, I feel that you could triple if not quadruple the amount of purchases for the DIGITAL games if you didn’t price those DIGITAL copies the same as a RETAIL HARD copy.

No offense, but if you want to see SUPER RAPID growth, be fair with your pricing. I mean $40 for a DIGITAL copy, the same as a RETAIL. That’s a joke and you know it.

But I guess this is a marketing tool to see how many are willing to bite. Best of luck, but you won’t grab me that way and I’ll be sure to TELL ALL MY FRIENDS about this.

    :)

  • damage control,

the publishers set the priciing point for their own games. that said, the pricing parity is ridiculous in saome caes

  • Oh and one more thing. How is it that the Japanese PSN store has all the PS1 Classic RPG’s already available and the American audience only has a few?

It looks like those companies had no issues with re-releasing their PS1 into PSN territory in Japanese. What would be the hold up in English territory? This is just a curious question.

  • I agree. Picture previews for each game being released is a good idea for the future.

Also, the pricing seems to be off. If there is no cost benefit to getting the PSP Go, then there is definitely no benefit to charging higher prices for PSP games. Lower the prices to $15.00 – $19.99 max for newere PSP games that come out. That sounds fair. Older PSP games should be $9.99 – $15.00.

  • Hey Guys, any plans to get Lumines 1 or 2 on the PSN store for us PSPgo owners?

I was seriously looking forward to one of the greatest PSP titles ever to enjoy on my PSPgo.

  • I just saw that on a forum, is that true?

“You must have the latest firmware before you can transfer anything. My GO has arrived on 5.70. Until I upgrade to 6.10 I can’t put games onto it. I can’t upgrade my firmware on a wired connection and I didn’t buy an M2 as there is internal memory.

It’s fine for me, I have wireless at home. If I didn’t, I’d be [DELETED] furious at being forced to buy a memory card for a machine with built in memory.”

  • in fact just to prove the pricing desparity here are some games you can buy form amazon brand new in umd format:
    resistance retribution 24.49
    god of war c.o.o. 5.25(yes 5.25)
    secret agent clank 8.25(yes 8.25)
    mlb 09 29.99
    crash mind over mutant 29.99
    monster hunter unite 27.99
final fantasy dissidia 27.98 (i know but still a great deal)
    need for speed shift 36.99
    madden 10 36.99
    star wars battlefront RS 16.59
indy jones staff of kings 17.99
    MK Unchained 13.45
    sould caliber 36.99
    disgaea 2 27.99
    beaterator 36.99
    sonic rivals 2 19.55
    metal slug anthology 14.99
    endwar 18.98
    rainbow six vegas 17.49
here’s a list of great games u can get for CHEAPER than the digital download. all from amazon.com. And with free shipping if u order more than $25. More proof that pspgo and digital download only is a ripoff.

  • Oh, but I’d just like to say: WHAT THE **** is with those Minis prices? $10 for a Tetris clone? That’s a rip-off for the sake of it- are you TRYING to alienate new owners on the first day?

  • I was looking forward to cheap little mini games for my PSP. But they are priced the same as full featured PSN games. So all ‘minis’ seems to mean is ‘half the game at the same price’.

If you’re going to price them the same as more substantial games, then it was a marketing mistake to draw special attention to these games as ‘minis’.

The answer I was expecting was $5 for each of those. Which is still on the high side, but Sony tends to be priced on the premium side. Which I’m okay with. But $10 for each of these little minigames is off the scale, even for Sony.

Other than that, this is a great update.

  • Did anyone notice that the 15 MiniS that were supposed to be out on day 1 turned into 7… where are the other 8?

And I agree completely about them being overpriced, especially Tetris.

  • @ improperlyaged

Many of those are minimal improvements AT BEST. Why the hell would I care about a $1.50 when I can have it immediately, and have it with me at all times? Have you ever tried to carry around five or six UMDs? Digital Distribution may be a bad idea for home consoles, but with the PSP and portable devices in general, you need to consider PORTABILITY.

  • It sure is nice to get an update early, but I do have to agree with some of the others that this update is very underwhelming.

Who is going to buy just one of those 4 PSOne classics? Seriously!

  • Great update. I was pretty worried that it would happen today.

  • Grace chen, where is red faction DLC #3 that was suppose to release on PSN today according to red faction twitter page

    http://twitter.com/RedFaction

  • 39.99 for Persona PSP without all the extra content goodies?? Hmm…actually all the prices seem to be rip offs. I think PSP Go is definitely confirmed as a no buy for me. Hell you guys launched it with less then a 1/1000th of the PSP original content. No crisis core, Metal Gear solid acid/ Portable ops/ portable ops plus, Dj Max, Bounty hounds etc.

I feel sorry for the suckers who got tricked by its nice design into buying it. Oh and PSP minis are waaaayyy over priced! they should be 1.99 to 4.99 max!

And why isn’t NIS games on sell yet like advertised!?

  • wow… just… wow!

  • @jeigh
those improvements mean a lot when ur already spending 250 on the suystem alone and u can trade the games in when ur done with them and yes i have i own a psp 1000 and still have not felt the need to upgrade since since february 2006 when i paid the exact same price for that system. i’m just trying to point out that sony is obviously ripping off thier clientele and is going down the path of microsoft. it was bad enough with their “premium” psone classics and themes but seriously charging someone more for something they can get for cheaper and with trade in value has no real logic behind it. the overall value of this system isnt even comparable to the 3000 model. sony was never the company to put profits above their fanbase. i understand its about business but they really are just alienating the entire psp fanbase who have been loyally supporting the handheld for years. most of the time it was not even supported with games. this is a slap in the face to everyone who owned the earlier psp models. sad to say but i honestly hope it fails just to teach sony a lesson.

  • While I enjoy the early content packed update, the pricing on some of the stuff is completely ridiculous.

Any downloadable game should be cheaper than the UMD counterpart and Minis should always be under $5.

You guys are slowly begining to show me just how bad an all digital platform will be, and I don’t think the PSPgo will ever be for me.

  • Is there going to be a second update later with the rest of the promised 225 games? I don’t care about the movies and tv shows. I want games. I’m paying for a game playing portable device, and I want games to play on it. I also concur with the people complaining about the NISA games not being $4.99-9.99, as revealed 2 posts before this update announcement.

  • Are you guys going to be updating the Store (and hopefully this post) throughout the day?

Also, NIS said that their games would be $5-10 this week, so why aren’t they showing as those prices?

  • @ improperlyaged

Nobody is denying any pricing disparity, but you’re the only one blaming Sony for that (unless its a sony game of course, then it is deserved) Why blame Sony for the price set for the way Namco priced Soul Calibur?

  • wuhuuuu, a lot of games, i feel like im in a candy store, great update, i need more space in my psp2000, :D
