  • Wow. Is the Ratchet & Clank demo big enough?

  • Awesome update:
    R&C Demo
    Critter Crunch Demo
Half-Minute Hero = $29.99 (on my Store anyway)
Abe’s Odyssey ($9.99? okay MGS and FFVII.)
Trine ($19.99? I’m going to be in debt with these prices)

    Next week wishes:
    FF VIII
    Avatars
    Dynamic Themes

SIDE NOTE: The Dragonball Raging Blast Demo is HORRIBLE imo.

  • No Uncharted motion comic for us Canadians? That is terrible. Being a big Uncharted fan, I was looking forward to seeing how the motion comic turned out, and if it was good enough, chances are that I would have picked up the sequels. But Sony just lost that chance, it seems. This store inequality for Canadians is just getting worse by the day. We share a border and are essentially the same region in many respects. This is shameful. Please clean up your act, Sony.

  • Awesome update. Keep the good demos coming.

  • RATCH AND MOTHER EFFING CLANK DEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alright, nice update between the PS3 content and PSP content. I’m glad to see that, if nothing else, the PSP Go has reinvigorated Sony’s commitment to the platform. The pricing could use some work, but for now I’m sticking with “it could be, and was, so much worse.”

And now for something completely different:

W…ow. Was there actually an avatar update that came with the firmware? I have trouble understanding how the ability to make such a simple improvement is there, but the actual improvement is simply absent. They’re… just… PICTURES! This *has* to be one of those things that looks simple to the average observer but is in fact a great deal more difficult, because I’m straining to think of how to complicate the procedure of implementing a 2D, single-animation (static), 1×1 image. And if it’s because of questions as to appropriate pricing strategies, let me just say it again. They’re… just… PICTURES!!!

  • WOW THANKS FOR THE AVATARS AND DYNAMIC THEMES…..

  • Hmmm i think ill download DBZ first. Just curious to see if it is actually good.

  • When is this update supposed to happen?
When i go to playstation store it only has some of these new additions
its leaving out some like elite squadron demo, and armored core 3 portable…
    what the heck

  • Good update this week! Just so you know, I was sort of on the fence about Critter Crunch but I bought it after trying the demo for only 5 minutes. It’s a fantastic game! Everyone who likes puzzle games even a little should definitely look into it…

Demos are a very good thing ;)

  • Have you ever had the Hot Pocket Hot Pocket? It’s Hot Pocket inside a Hot Pocket. Tastes just like a Hot Pocket.
    ~ Jim Gaffigan

What was the idea behind Hot Pockets? Was there a marketing meeting somewhere, “Hey I got an idea: How about we take a Pop-Tart and fill it with really nasty meat? You could cook it in a sleeve thing, dunk it in a toilet.”
    ~ Jim Gaffigan

  • Thanks guys for finally getting your act together and bringing Trine out! It’s only been about a month or so, unfortunately I went ahead and purchased it for the pc, since you guys like to let us know what games are coming out the day they come out. Thanks again, for nothing, BACK TO MY 360.

  • Yay! PSone games! Wait? $10 for THOSE games? Never mind, those aren’t classics worth that price.

Please get us themes and avatars…and kick the Singstar team into gear while you are at it.

With the delays, I will wait for a review on Trine now. Something smells fishy.

    But everything else looks good.

  • Dragonball Z Demo is awesome, a little clunky but it’s super addicting.

  • @153

Who said it wasn’t for Canadians?

  • I was waiting for Trine because of all the hype. Now you release it with a $20 price tag and no demo? Stupid move.

  • My goodness. This update has spoiled me for all future updates.

  • is kickin himself for buyin burnout paradise 2 days before it went on sale they should tell you a week or so before they put it on sale so you dont buy it and start cursin at the comp! not a happy gamer! rant over!!

  • YAY! HOT POCKETS!

Seriously, though, great update. Glad to see Way of the Samurai 3 getting some love in the US — that is one seriously underrated game.

@#49: I agree that all PSN games should have demos, just as all XBLA games do. Nonetheless, there’s a demo of Trine available on Steam if you want to try it out in the meantime. I hear it’s pretty good.

  • when are the avatars coming?

  • :( I Want A God O War Dynamic Theme With Kratos Fighting And Army…lotz Of Blood As Well

  • Trine, and 2 Oddworld games! Awesome! Bought all three of them.

But as far as the PSP updates go… I Sold my PSP-3000 months ago in anticipation of the PSP Go. Unfortunately, I think I am going to hold off getting the Go until I see some type of incentive for going digital. So far, the digital PSP games are priced way higher than I was expecting. You are going to have to do something better than that if you are going to lure me away from buying actual physical copies for a fraction of the price on Amazon or Ebay… Or even into buying another PSP, for that matter.

  • When are the Final Fantasy games going to be on PSN? Im waiting to buy a psp go until they are available…

  • WHERE ARE THE AVATARS?!?

  • no ratchet demo you should come out with it before the game please ive been waiting to weeks for it to come out ps the clank demo was fun, whens ratchet coming out?

  • I’m waiting for Final Fantasy 8. Next week PLEASE!

  • Awesome update! The Oddworld games are a blast!
Some if those PSP games are too exspensive. $19.99 each for the GTA Stories games, same price as the UMDs, and I bought the UMDs, for $10.00 each at a clearance sale.
Again, great update, but I’m glad I stuck with my PSP 3000 instead of ‘upgrading’ to a Go.
Buying memory sticks and UMDs seems cheaper and better at the moment.

  • A number of fine choices this week, though I wish dated PSP games (and even Playstation games) were cheaper as they just feel pricey lately.

  • I must say great update

  • where is resident evil 2 and 3 and dino crisis the japan psn store had them over a year now the people in th usa wants these games it holloween is coming and no zombies :(

  • What was the idea behind Hot Pockets? Was there a marketing meeting somewhere, “Hey I got an idea: How about we take a Pop-Tart and fill it with really nasty meat? You could cook it in a sleeve thing, dunk it in a toilet.”

Have you ever had the Hot Pocket Hot Pocket? It’s Hot Pocket inside a Hot Pocket. Tastes just like a Hot Pocket.
    ~ Jim Gaffigan

  • make all psn stores reagin free is not right that some psn stores have exclusive games

  • sigh…no resident evil 2…

  • As usual Americans are the saints the Europeans the losers… I mean when it comes to the PS store, demo’s, classics. Can’t you make “your” store universal for us Europeans? I can beg, scream what I want but SCEE DOESN’T LISTEN! Ow well, as long as downloading from US store is possible, I’ll do that… 2 more classics added to my long growing (US) collection :-)

  • Ow and GET TRINE!!! Its totally amazing! But probably easier than the version I’ve played since they patched the game… god knows why :-?

  • Too much good stuff! Will buy as much as I can afford this week, and grab the remainder next week.

  • WOW!
whats with the R&C ACIT demo being 2.5GBs?
most demos are less than 800MBs.
O and please can you entice ND and insomniac to create a dynamic theme for R&C ACIT and uncharted 2?
O and one for GOW that would be kick a$$

  • Going to download Eye on Indra.

  • Great update in general with the demo for Crack in time and some cool Uncharted 2 videos, but seriously what kind of moron would pay $15 for Burnout Paradise today?? The game is almost two years old FFS… PSN store and pricing… sheesh

  • Man i am loving TRINE. Lots of puzzle solving, platforming, action and a incredible cast of voice actors and excellent presentation of story.

I was gonna download the Clank demo, but the second i saw that massive file i just quit.

  • pretty good update!

  • Best. Update. Ever.
It’s about time! Hey, can we make sure we get the same amount of games like this every update?

Anyway, thanks for making my day! ^_^

  • People do not understand it cost money for bandwidth so you do not sit for a long time waiting to download the game. If you guys do not understand why some of the games cost more in their digital download format. I’d suggest searching the news to see why the psn isn’t free for companies to put their games out there. They charge the companies for bandwidth and so on.

To the person who said mgs / ffvii was too much /sigh probably should of kept the originals.

Decent update it definitely stopped me from buying Dragonball i really did not enjoy the game but i was looking forward to it. Tekken 6 out Tuesday and then two weeks later Modern Warfare 2 so whats not to be excited about. (Don’t whine about other console getting something exclusive)

  • $40 for Fifa! Joke!

  • TRINE is Awesome guys. If you are reading this, excellent job creating a coop Fairytale that oozes atmosphere. Is there/Will there be an online mode?

  • LOL @ #140

    Good update!

Burnout Paradise and Critter Crunch are currently two of the BEST deals on the PSN. Lots of game there for a small price, and they both offer online play.

The Uncharted Digital Comic was pretty cool and was nice that the first episode was FREE. I don’t see myself purchasing the future episodes if those ‘commercials’ will be there though. Doesn’t seem right to pay for adverts.

  • Great update, I’m buying the Queen RB pack, trying the Critter Crunch demo and maybe buying Lumines (this should’ve been it’s launch prize). Fail @ no Trine demo

  • Critter Crunch demo! Hopefully will boost sales. Don’t let the puzzle genre die, small as it is! It needs to grow!

  • good update. it could be better but gracir chan getting over workerd and all. oddworld is a perfect game as ps1 classic, .. im waiting on dave mirra freestyle bmx to get up there.. hopefully when all the psp items calm down it can be put up inthe store

  • @193 Juben: You have no idea what your talking about. Bandwidth cost a lot less than making and shipping UMDs. Some of those PSP games are just too exspensive.
Business’s and brick and mortar game shops will make less money because of this, while consumers are paying the same price for something they can’t even resell later.
Sony is the only one who wins.
Now I love Sony and their products, but overcharging for some of those PSP games, especially the older ones, is just wrong. If you can’t see why Juben, you are the one who should do research.
