HEY SONY! Where is the subtitle?!?!? I don’t mean to shout at you, but since you repeatedly quote: “We are looking into that or this…” So, can you please give us a timeframe when will that happen? OR WILL IT NEVER HAPPEN??? What is the deal? Don’t give me a reason by saying that this is a business side that you need to deal with or to look into this or that. It has been three years since the day Playstation 3/PSP were released and still no subtitle? Am I safe to assume that the best answer is: NO??? I hope not. Definitely not!

Any fix for they people that buy content and have their PS3 borked? The Terms of Service say SONY doesn’t owe me another download of the content (h3ll…charge me $1 for a redownload).

Any word on how multiple PS3 owners (like myself) can enjoy their content on the machine that is convenient to them?

Until this is fixed…don’t buy PSN video content.

Can’t wait for your system to break and you get a different model and can’t restore your data. You will be the first one crying on here.

Why don’t you STFU and pay attention.
I have a dedicated 1.5TB backup drive for my PS3 and it’s damn near useless when I need to restore to a different model then the one that was backed up, as all DRM content is tied to the system NOT the PSN ID.

Both points raised by KSPRAYDAD are valid. Those among my own (1080p, 5.1 audio) are reasons I won’t and don’t use the PSN video store.

did you know even if you backup your data, you cannot play purchased Video Content on different PS3?

I am currently experiencing this issue; my Launch Unit started acting up, so I bought a new unit. I backed up all the data and restored.
When I tried to view the restored video files on my new PS3, I got a message stating something along the lines that this content is not authorized for use on this machine.

I am dissapointed that the content I payed for I can no longer view, just because my hardware failed..

Just want to say, my family LOVES the Playstation Network video store. It is very nice to be able to rent movies from our couch, and especially when the wife and I are out and the kids want to watch something.

I do have a couple questions/comments:

1) Would it be possible to include more current PG and PG-13 selections? I know that you’re probably at the mercy of what Hollywood is releasing, but it seems that there is a significant number more of R than PG or PG-13. In a house full of tweens, G is just too “baby” and R is too much at the moment.

2) Have you thought of expanding your search criteria to include ratings? It would be nice to be able to limit my search to only PG or PG-13.

Again, my family is very pleased with PSN and the PS3 as a whole. Keep the greatness coming!

  Hi Void- Good suggestion, and something we might explore down the road. Since we don\’t have this right now, I\’d look under new releases for current titles. In our list of most current films you can scroll through for PG or PG-13 titles.
  
  Right now some titles that would work for the fam would be: Year One, Land of the Lost, Earth, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Hope that helps.

I have spend about $500+ on the Games and about $30 on the Videos. If I run out of room, I can delete a game, and then download again later. If I delete a video, it’s gone, period. Until Sony fixes the DRM model for video, I won’t be building a collection any time soon.

  Do you have to delete it? Did you know you can hook up an external storage drive, off load your videos and restore them back on your PS3 when you\’re ready to watch\’em?

Unfortunately you seem to have NO grasp of what the back up features allow you to do. It does not help AT ALL in the two very real scenarios that I’ve outlined.

It looks like the Naruto Shippuden coincides with The new TV airing on Disney DX premiering this Wednesday. I think I will compare the free uncut episode on PSN with The TV version. I just got this feeling that Disney is going to needlessly censor this show.

I know this to be a FACT! I have two 60GB systems and DRM content will NOT backup and restore to the other.

Where is Canada’s video store? It took over a year and a half to get PSN cards here after the US did. Should we expect the same amount of wait time?

I always see SCECanada doing interviews on TV shows like Electric Playground talking about upcoming releases but what exactly do they do? They have no real website or anything and everything we get comes from SCEA. We dont even get contests.

Sony, close down SCEC, save yourselves the money, these people do nothing.

Sony, use the Steam model. It is 1000x better, just sign in on any machine and everything you have ever bought is there. I will not buy any content with this DRM nonsense.

And as for the DRM problems, are you remembering to deactivate your old console’s video content too? That might work. (Account Management > System Activation > Video > Deactivate System).

YLOD doesn’t really scare me either. Open it up, get some thermal paste and a heatgun, and you’re golden… or so I’ve read.

I have to say, the only thing I really want is surround sound and then, ill have no problem downloading more stuff. Otherwise, my 6.1 surround sound will sit there and 2.1 drives me insane.

Thought the video issues with DRM were the same for games, guess this means I have to stick to the (rare) digital rental as the costs are just too great to consider building a digital collection on my PSP Go only to not be able to re-download after I need to delete.

I think you guys are really onto something with the on demand movies and TV shows. However, I believe you are pricing yourselves out of the market.

Right now I can go down the street to a Red Box and rent new releases for one US dollar. Their conditions are similar to yours in the fact that it is a 24 hour rental and must be returned to any red box by 9pm the following day.

You are also competing with people like Nexflixs who allow you to rent as many as can be mailed in a month for $9.00.

Given that most of the new releases movies you have for rent, most cost around $6.00 for a similar deal. (Note even your SD movies are still on average $4.00)

With these options available it makes it hard to justify the higher prices you guys are charging. Is there a monthly fee for watching as many movies and TV shows as a subscriber wants being considered?
