I’m Gordon Van Dyke and I’m the Associate Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 here at EA’s DICE studio in Stockholm.
Today we’re excited to announce that our forthcoming multiplayer beta is coming exclusively to PS3, so you’ll have a chance to experience all the action, destruction and vehicular warfare ahead of our full release in March 2010.
Starting on November 19, the beta will feature the huge ‘Arica Harbour’ map where up to 24 players compete to secure valuable crates in the ‘Rush’ game mode as the action moves across a variety of different locations. From an initial vehicle assault on a military outpost the war winds through streets of a deserted town to an intense final fire-fight in an industrial harbour.

Getting access to the beta will differ from country to country, but here are a few specific ways of getting hold of a key:
- We’ll be holding a special limited giveaway right here on the PlayStation Blog (details TBA)
- Pre-ordering the game at participating retailer
- Checking out selected gaming sites such as IGN or GameSpot in North America.

Alright i have a big question, i preordered it on Nov 8 at gamestop, and i thought that you get the beta once you preorder, but the guy that worked there said that they dont have it…do you have to preorder it on Nov 10 or can you get it by signing up on the BF website?
I have pre-ordered the game on gamestop online. But I have not recieved the beta code yet, can you please tell me when you get it?
there is a major problem with best buy…the members of the best buy forums are complaining that they have not(including i)received a code and that there were spammers getting MULTIPLE CODES IN ONE SHOT!. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A CODE!!!!i pre ordered this game from gamestop in August and NOTHING. so i ask PLEASE CAN I HAVE A CODE!

I fell very lucky to have bought a PS3 recently, now I can hopefully participate in the beta as long as keys are still available when I pre-order. :)

Is it too late for the beta key? I pre-ordered from gamestop.com on November 6 and have still not received any beta key or email regarding it. I really hope I get this beta key as it was half the reason i pre-ordered.

I called gamestop and you have to have ordered on Nov. 5th to get a beta key. Try an ign subscription or the psu giveaway on friday at http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4720811. You can also try(but i don’t recommend) twitter contests. There is also a sign up for the beta on http://www.badcompany2.ea.com/#/beta. Make like 15 emails and submit them. You have a likelier chance of a beta key. They probably have like 2000 beta keys. Theill also have like 10000 key wanters. Got mine off ign. Wish everybody luck.
the beta will last till Jan. 4 2010 so far as we heard from EA.
Hey, is bfbc2 developed on the ps3? or just a port? I’m wondering because for once ps3 is getting the beta.
It is sad that they didn’t give the beta code to the costumers who pre-ordered this EA’s game from EA’s store. I should have canceled my order and buy from BB or GS. But it seems thats over as well.

hey i’m a veteran from all of the previous battlefield games and is currently a fan of E.A not Infinity ward i just got MW2 to try it and the servers are slow and laggy, but dont get me wrong sometimes battlefield bad company can be laggy but on occasions, anyway before i take up all you’re time i’d like to know if the bad company 2 beta will be a disc or available for download (DL) on playstation network, please respond ASAP. almost release date. today’s date is NOVEMBER 13, 2009 -Bashbrothers1

Alright i’ve been wanting to know this for a while… i live in North America and have always followed DICE in their Battlefield games (especially Battlefield Badcompany series) i wanted to know if you could get the beta key downloader without pre-ordering it.
also i have been wanting to be a beta tester for DICE for a long time now but it says i need a playstation underground loggin to get there… i was wonodering if maybe you could give me like reccommendations for it or something
I got my code for Beta participation from Fileplanet yesterday. I immediately tried to enter the code & it was not accepted. I’d guess preloading the software to my hard drive before the 19th is not an option.

if you are such a veteren of Battlefield then you will know for sure that the servers can be terrible , for long periods of play. so please dont be criticising infinity wards handling of MW2. it IS the biggest online game afterall , bad company was argueably half its size and still had connectivity problems.
as for beta keys……if in UK ur gonna have a hard time finding a retailer offering a beta key. Play doesnt seem to be involved even tho i got my MAG beta from them and it ran for longer than 10 days as someone else suggested. But wasnt even a scratch on MW2 – so its been taken off pre-order….and being replaced by BC2
Whoa I got my beta code last week and it was PURELY out of luck. Seriously I didn’t even realize that there was going to be a beta. Yea!!!!! I feel good now.

OK look guys this looks better then BF BAD company but there are some serious thing you need to work out from the last game
#1 The sit and spin choppers (this was the lamest rushed out part of the game) What happened to the choppers with parachutes?

come on guys that was cheep! will there be choppers and A-10s why no planes only choppers?
I have been playing battlefield since 1942 and this kind of cheep sit and spin chopper nonsence has to go! BRING BACK THE PARACHUTES! and A10’s hello DICE DESERT COMBAT add on for BF1942 lets get some A-10 action here come on why choppers and no planes? Is it to hard to do on a console?
And Last but not least please fix the Headset and Friend Invites!
I bought this demo soon as it came out with a friend and we have NOT been able to create a SQUAD and successfully join a game at all since buying the BETA.
Also it took over 3 shots with a sniper to kill someone and I was aiming for the head!
Please make sniper shots more accurate 2 shots in the heart or head in not acceptable!
I hope to get some kind of response to my inquires I have been a die hard fan of battlefield since 2005 do something for us here and stop making excuses of why it cant be done and do something just emulate the 1942 series and you can make a awesome PS3 game!
please add A10 or some other air besides a unnamed remote control chopper come on guys the PC version all had it why can you bring planes to a Console?

I think I deserve a BETA key, I’ve purchased Battlefield-1943 from the PS-store and I’ve purchased Battlefield-BAD Company from the high street retailer, Battlefield is going great, I love the huge destructible environments maps! COD-mw2 maybe polished up because they had years to do it since cod4, but whereas innovation in FPS gaming is concerned, they are still in modern gaming times.LOL I love battlefield because it has so much to offer, 1943 is still a cut above the rest always!! Also I would be happy to test out the BETA, the older ya are the more ya have to say and i’m sure i will have lots for BFBC2!! peace and keep up the good work, may I add, shooting really isn’t a sport but in a gaming sense it can be due to the competitive aspect of it, I just can’t believe that you lot have managed to create such a ”on top of the rest” top ten hits like Battlefield and sports games have been your main target for many many years. Way to Go EA sports ”it’s in the game!” < i've heard that for over 14 years. LOL
