As you’ve already heard from Eric Lempel, the latest PSP firmware update v6.20 added the Digital Comics Reader to the XMB on the PSP. The PlayStation Network comic service on PlayStation Store will be coming in December (U.S. Only). In the meantime, you can get your hands on a free issue of Star Trek: Year Four – The Enterprise Experiment from our partners at IDW Publishing. Once you download the free Digital Reader, visit PlayStation Store on the PSP and enter the following promotion code:

This code is only valid until December 16, 2009. The code must be redeemed directly on the PSP (not through PS3 or Media Go).

Both free downloads have been failing of the
comics. I have a psp-2001, could that be the
problem??? Please fix the problem!
When the download gets to 100%, I get an error (code 8010A12E). And when I try to download it again after a few more tries, it tells me the code is no longer valid. What’s the deal, here? :|
Yep… so I tried to boot into the Comic viewer thing with the newest psp update… and it tells me to select my country… being in Canada… Im left out again it seems? Canada wasn’t listed and when I clicked the “my country isnt listed” i was greeted with “its not available in your country”…. arg. Can I just select US and have it work?

Unless you put this on the PS3, I won’t be able to use this service. I have an older laptop and computer and it is unable to install the PSP media Go for the PS3 Store Front….I have spent many weeks working on the problem, but not resolve!
So please put comics on the PS3 store and I will be happy to spend my hard earned money on this..otherwise…I will sadly not use!

bring translated up to date manga then i’ll consider buying a psp or bring to the ps3. If you can bring japanese latest manga translated i’ll buy it in a heart beat. It has to be the latest from japan, I hate reading manga online but if you can get translated bring to the store i’ll buy it.

@49 if you want to try to download it again you have to go to your transaction management from the XMB of the PSP and look at your download list from there NOT the PSN store and you should see the download and you can try again.
okay though all 3 comics download to 99% then say the download failed. Can something be done about this? please?

Hmmmm, I try entering the code (724K-A4BG-JLD7) and I get a message saying “This content cannot be accessed on your account.”
I’m in St. Louis, which last time I checked, was in the US.

these are all of the comics you can get so far, 1 is Astro Boy, another, is some Horror comic, Transformers: The Rise of Megatron, and Star Trek.
Also I forgot to ask, if I’m done with a comic, and I don’t want it anymore, is there a way to delete comics?

Doesn’t work in CANADA! it isn’t cool…
Maybe the reason why the error code keeps on popping up on you guys is because you might have cookies and/or caches turned off because at first mine didnt work but then i did that and it worked
The only one that didn’t work for me was the Transformers comic. It tells me the code is no longer valid.
You guys have to come up with a new filmware
update or something to resolve the comics failing problem!!!
i’ve downloaded all the 4 freebies. no error at all.
I put in the code for the astroboy comic
but there was a error in the downloading process
and now it doesn’t let me download it again
it says the codes already been used
and the comics dont appear on the downloads list = /

Just tried out the viewer and downloaded the 4 free comics. The viewer is pretty slick. Definitely looking forward to finally reading the Civil War arc come December.
Any word on the date that the comic store will actually launch? I’m assuming it will be Dec. 17th, as the free comic offer expires the 16th.
Pretty neat. Hope it’s not overpriced like print comics.

Sony/Playstation is really gay and is frustrating me. Everything new never comes out in Canada. Do you Japanese have beef with Canada? Your new mercendise comes out in South Africa for christs sake, BUT NOT CANADA! Do you guys have a problem with Canadians or do you want us all to slowly move to XBOX?
All I know is I’m looking forward to finally reading Civil War and catching up on my Avengers. I haven’t had the time, money, or space to keep up with comic collecting over the past few years, so this gives me a great opportunity to do just that.
I’d like to thank Sony and give them credit for a great idea. Just a couple more weeks to go. Thanks!

The worst part is I’m not even living in Canada anymore, I just don’t feel I should have to trade in my psp I bought in Canada for one in England…..it’s a portable system, why is it failing to be portable yet again????
