It Only Does Unbelievable HD Entertainment Bundles

183 0

Hi everyone. I hope you’re all well recovered from a tryptophan-induced holiday and are getting ready for some exciting shopping ahead (this is of course, if you haven’t already taken advantage of our great Black Friday promotions).

It’s been a lot of fun rolling out the many creative executions of our “Dear PlayStation” ad campaign over the last few weeks. Kevin Butler has garnered legions of fans as he demonstrates how the PS3 “Only Does Everything” in his very unique style. In fact, even our friends and partners at Best Buy have been impressed. So much so, they approached us about a unique collaboration featuring Best Buy’s “blue shirt” campaign in which actual Best Buy employees solve customer needs. Of course, we loved the idea.

Our colleagues at Sony Electronics and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment also got involved with Best Buy to sweeten the deal by offering an amazing value bundle that showcases the true powerhouse Sony is when it comes to HD entertainment. The bundle combines a PlayStation 3, a Bravia HDTV, and a choice of a new game and Blu-ray movie – all with a total savings of up to $1100! The promotion runs from November 29th until December 12th across Best Buy stores nationwide and online at BestBuy.com. There are some limitations, so read more on the bundle here: BestBuy.com/SonyTVPS3.

If you or a friend is in the market for a true 1080p HD experience, you need to check this deal out. You can also thank Kevin and Best Buy’s Nick DeVita of New York for one-upping each other to create an “explosive” bundle and a great commercial.

I’d like to thank our sister companies and particularly our partners at Best Buy for helping make this happen. I hope many of you can take advantage of this opportunity to deck your living room with the ultimate HD entertainment experience.

Cheers,
Peter

  • Why can’t we see the videos on the ps3 browser anymore?

  • Is Sony mad? This is one sweet deal!

  • Stri:

Again…everyone else seems to understand the concept…except you.

If they remove the “ONLY” part, then it stops being part of the same marketing concept. And the whole thing is a play on the popular expression, “Yah, I only got 100% on my test”, where the ONLY is emphasized in a tongue-in-cheek manner to show-off the fact that I got 100%.

Sony is showing off their features in the same way.

You can’t drop the “only” or it just comes off like a stupid way to list a feature.

It’s stunning that you can’t wrap your brain around the concept.

Everyone else loves it. You fail to understand it. Do the math…

  • I just wonder, how come people bash Sony around here so hard but they’re having a PSN ID? Can they create an ID without having a PS3? If so… ow that explains it… trolls.

Concering the video, amazing again… You hear that Microsoft??? No…listen again… BOOOOOM!!! hi hi hi….

    I’m a nasty girl xD

  • By the way… really reminds me of a certain song…

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F444CELomo

I like that Boom, boom, pow xD

  • unlike Microsoft ads, Sony’s are actually funny to watch.

the Microsoft ones are just painfully embarrassing for Microsoft (lol), their product stinks even more as it did last year.

  • It only does everything, except satisfy cross-game chat whiners and the people that were in a coma when the 60GB with full BC were in production.

  • @ 153 RuthlessEd: Part 1

It’s got nothing to do with wrapping my head around the concept. There you go again, assuming that I am incapable of simple comprehension tasks.
Are you telling me that just because many like the campaign, then I must too? I think that’s pretty narrow-minded of you. As I mentioned before, opinion is a right bestowed upon us by our “individuality” a gift we just so happen to be born with, thankfully.
If we were all the same then I must ask, what would be the point of a campaign in the first place? You tell me that oh master of wit!
Removing the “Only” would not in fact deviate from the original concept;it would fit just fine actually,as a listing of the things covered in the “Everything” idea.

  • @ 153 RuthlessEd: Part 2

I really wish you would stop trying to justify things in such a manner that is intended to implicate my ignorance. Sorry to say,but it is your one sided tunnel vision that would fail to breach the line between AvJoe and DaVinci.
Do us all a favor, keep your tongue behind your teeth & hands in your pocket if you don’t have anything productive to say. Petty insults are meaningless with a brittle spine. You’ll just keep falling with the strength of the hot air you spew from that big mouth.
If it’s a debate you crave, there’s much more civilized ways to accomplish it. Insulting will only make you look silly…another thing that I’ve mentioned before. Now there’s a concept that you clearly cannot.

  • wrap your head around.

  • Stri:

You’re an idiot. It’s not an insult. It’s a simple fact.

You continue to prove it. Post after post.

  • How does my posts prove me to be an idiot?
    Simply because you say so?

Lmao! That statement makes you the idiot…and that’s a fact.

Your just mad because you realize that you are wrong.
You expect everyone to have the same opinion.
It doesn’t mean that I am an idiot, just because I don’t agree with you.

People like you are the ones that contribute to every problem in the history of society.
One sided thinking and the ones that attempt to force others into their opinions, has lead to some of the world’s biggest issues…

Way to pwn yourself into the likes of that mentality.
hahahaha…as if you seriously think I’m the idiot. It’s evident that I’m easily twice the person you could ever hope to be…simply based on your childish remarks / insults, if nothing else.

Go attempt a battle of wits with someone you can actually contend with for a while.
    Clown!

  • Stri:

You’re the single individual who doesn’t understand the “Only” campaign. You’re an idiot. We get it.

Why keep piling on more evidence?

  • Dude…how can you not believe that saying “only” on this portion of the campaign doesn’t sound like that’s the only thing PS3 does?
It’s a poorly designed “sub-campaign” to say “It Only Does Unbelievable HD Entertainment Bundles” etc.

The original concept “It only does everything” is a good idea, however; only when its subs are used properly.
I’m not sure how Sony should do this, but something along the lines of:

    It only does everything:
-then list all the ideas and highlight the one referring to the current ad-

Clearly a better idea than that can be devised…but I trust the point is made.

You base your information on the fact that everyone is familiar with the campaign.
Well not all are…Things need to be designed to appeal to all, not just those who keep up with the commercials / campaign concepts.

And, to clarify…I’m not the “only” one to feel this way. I realize that you like think you are all knowing, but others have also expressed this concern.
As far as evidence of idiocy goes…are you sure you know the meaning of that?
Opinion is not now, nor ever been evidence.

How thick can you be, seriously?

  • You had us convinced of the level of your intelligence after the very first three sentences you wrote.

But now it’s just getting embarrassing…

  • …and may I make a suggestion: that perhaps you and the “other concerned people” all get together and form some kind of self-help group.

I’d further suggest that once you’re all together you hold an official election — and elect the smartest member of your group (wouldn’t it be exciting if you won!!)

…then have THAT person bring in their smartest friend (sort of as a guest speaker)…and get that friend to explain the whole campaign concept to the entire group…then have him slap all your faces and yell “IDIOT!” (using his best Napolean Dynamite impression).

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 1:

Whatever man say what you will,I’m sure you’re used to hearing yourself talk anyway.

You keep avoiding answering my questions though.
How are your insults in any way related?

I’ll type this spaced so you can let it soak enough to retain the concept of what I am saying this time.

    Opinion… is… opinion…
I know… what Sony… is going for… but it is not good… for those who are unfamiliar… with the campaign.

    Got it now?
Some people’s children I tell ya.
I’ve got to blame the upbringing;perhaps with the proper influences you wouldn’t act in such an incongruous manner.
Maybe you just lack the intellectual integrity to expand your understanding of individuality(In which case I’m sure your parents/ life tutors gave up on you).
We are all different & there for entitled to a difference of interpretation.
That fact does not make us “stupid” as you so eloquently put it.

Only weak minded people insist that everyone should see the world through one pair of eyes.
Hmmm, guess who in this instance that might be?

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 2:

It doesn’t matter if people are able to discern the point of the campaign eventually. It’s important that people get the message first, before trying to dissect errors.
If I find myself working through the scheme to find the whole message, odds are that’s what I remember first when making a purchase.
Sales, whether you choose to believe it or not, will improve if the proper message is the consumer’s first thought when remembering the marketing scheme…not the flaws.
You believe the scheme is fine as I,& I believe differently. Instead of taking the difference of opinion into consideration, you chose to insult because there MUST be only one correct belief, right?
That’s why you’d fail. You lack the free reign of a mind without boundaries. To you the sky is the limit,& to me it never is.You choose to insult difference,& if you think about it, every evil leader in history had that same quality. The quality that lead to Racism, slavery, persecution, oppression,&genocide. Make no mistake, these values you express in your statements/insults are no different, except in reason.
You claim mastery over those who view the world in a different light. I see this campaign differently than you,so I MUST be stupid.

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 3:

    I’m stupid…
Maybe that’s exactly what I was thinking I was when I became a member of Mensa…or when I received either of my two masters degrees,or when I received any of my achievements for that matter.
Whether it be my black belt,or my second.
Maybe when learning my 3rd language I felt that way. Or perhaps when I learned sign language,or worked with charities contributing research requests, lived in hard times & struggled through hardships physically to gain the opportunity to show talents mentally…with success I might add. Maybe when I began writing a novel this year…or after receiving my first payment for chapter one. Or perhaps I felt stupid when I received an accommodation for designing / programming websites pro-bono for children sick with Leukemia needing help financially,or perhaps when I achieved financial success high enough to settle the rest of my days…then used much to benefit others, & continue to do so…
The point is, you don’t know me,yet based on your statements, you proclaim as much.

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 4:

Honestly,I don’t know why I feel compelled to share any of this with the likes of you…I suppose I just cannot stand a person who believes themselves to be above another without actually knowing them or their lives / achievements / failures.
& you know what?…my failure is thinking that by explaining, you might see where I was coming from & thus becoming more humane as a result.
Clearly you will not…you only care about expression…an expression of contempt as far as I can tell.
So,this is not about the campaign any longer is it?
…You’ve insulted my integrity, & that’s going too far.

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 5:

What have you done that makes you so much more than I? How is it you’re worthy of being correct, purely based on your own views? Shouldn’t you be more open-minded to prove that superior intelligence you believe you possess? The truth is,you clearly don’t know me & now I’m obviously angry, god know why…I shouldn’t let it get to me.
But never the less,I’ll be asking for that apology now.
I am sick of your insults,& I demand respect.
But something tells me I’ll just receive another typical juvenile response.
I don’t know why I must receive respect, you’re probably 15 wearing the clothing your mother picked out this morn.
Must be the principal;you MUST grow mentally, knowing that you aren’t always right without knowledge. Assuming you are always correct without thinking it through might prove…as I said…silly.
A lesson you clearly didn’t receive thus far.
Such decisions may cause major issues for you later in life…so in part,I’m actually doing you a favor.

  • @ RuthlessEd Part 6:

Expand your mind child…& you may become an asset to society yet.
There is no need for hate, there’s already enough to go around.
We are not all the same. Keep that in mind next time you decide to place inane comments on record.
    I’m done with this!

  • WOW.

Not only are you an idiot, you clearly also have too much time on your hands.

  • …and by the way, I didn’t read a word of what you wrote. I saw “Part 1”, then “Part 2”, “Part 3”, etc…and just figured it was another tiresome rant.

I’m sure no one else will read it either (buried as it is in a forgotten and old blog entry).

But I’m sure you had some great points…

    Yah…

  • Whatever!
You keep checking here…so on some level you must care what I have to say…

    Guess what I’m thinking now…

  • Nice deal. Does it come with an HDMI componet cable?

  • Stri:

I honestly didn’t read your rant, at least not beyond the first sentence.

I started to read it, but then noticed that it was like this 8-part wall-of-text.

…and then I just felt embarrassed for you…and skipped over it.

Who on earth would waste the time to write all that in a PS3 blog?

    Only a loser.

  • Well it’s official.. It’s the first time i have ever own two of the same consoles. I just ordered my second PS3 (new slim)!!! I have the original 60gig model which I am very happy with.

What can you say it’s true it does do everything that’s why I’m getting a second!!!

Thanks Sony for standing behind the PS3 and making it a kickass product that does so much.

    Merry christmas to me!!!!! lol

  • Waste my time…loser…
    whatever man…
first, it took all of 3 minutes to write/post…
and second, the term loser is a personal perspective.
Your view of loser may be different than another individual.

See, there’s that one sided, weak minded, tunnel vision I was talking about.

Expand your mind and you will find that you may have potential deep down. Maybe.

And…If you truly didn’t read what I’ve said, you might as well have. You check back here often enough…
You are on the blog just as much as I apparently. That could be construed as a “loser” as well you know.

Just for the record…if you would have read the above rant of mine, you would know what my schedule is like. I do this on the few minutes I have for free time.
I play games and blog when there’s a moment of recreation for me…
    as I said, I’m a busy person.
…and I doubt any of the influenced people in my life would consider me a loser.

    Grow up!

  • Fall Out 3 : Game Of The Year, is the subject of my post. i just bought it not to long ago and im having problems with it freezing up on me after the amount of space it takes up to save gets to 11 – 13 MB’s. i can only take like 10 steps in the game before it freezes, so the question is, are there any plans on getting that fixed or did Bethesda f*** us? ps. im not the only one having this problem
