SOOO….. Here’s this weeks follow-up

Kristi – Thank you for your responses. It is encouraging to have some feedback and not be posting to the void. I did my research based on what you said. I bought two videos, played around with them, and here is what I found:

- It was good to know the DRM is up to 3 machines, but since I have bought 3 PSPs (since they keep upgrading) and 1 PS3, that means I would be already out of luck.

- I got video onto MediaGo from my PSPGo, which does mean I can back it up with computer. HOWEVER, MediaGo was not able to copy them back to the PSPGo. It kept saying “not enough memory on device” even though the video was under 500mb, and I had 2 gig free on the PSPGo.

- I am using a Mac – so MediaGo kinda sucks for me.

- I was able to copy my videos onto my PS3, which was nice, but was not able to play them through Remote Play (so what DOES Remote Play do?)

You have been very gracious so far, and I would appreciate any solutions you have for these problems I am still missing.

Hi Yaholo-

1) You can purchases or rent videos from the video store and watch on 1 PS3 and up to 3 PSPs. If you need help with activating/deactivating PSP units go on your PS3 and go to PSN>Account Management>System Activation

2) Not sure why that’s happening for you. Do you have the latest Media Go?

3) Here’s the system requirements for the latest build of Media Go 1.2

I don’t believe it works for Macs. Sorry.

4) Currently video store videos cannot be watched using remote play. Here’s more info on what does work

You are in violation of your own EULA and Terms of Service and Agreement. Put my account back on. I just went to the Sony Style near me and asked what features the ps3 has. First thing they said was access to the video store. I told them they were dead wrong. And they are. That’s false advertising. How about PS Home, you say it’s E for everyone but why does the EULA state that you have to be the age of Majority within your governing country of residence. It can’t be E for everyone when the network requires you to be 21 to log onto Home. I have a meeting with a Lawyer today. You have STOLEN MY games. Nowhere does it say that I LEASE my games from you at all. I am very upset by the events that have taken place this past week. I will NO LONGER BUY ANYTHING SONY EVER AGAIN!

Maybe you should give us ACTUAL info on what you ARE trying to do with regards to the video store in Canada?

None of this “We have nothing to announce” BS, because frankly that is exactly what we DON’T want to hear. We want to hear ACTUAL information, regardless of whether the store is coming to Canada or not. It doesn’t matter either way, but we deserve an REAL answer on where this issue stands.

Do a better job at your own jobs, or quit and go work at McDonald’s. I hear they need brainless mouths to man the drive-thru speakers.

Thanks atleast you did ridicule me or send me pm’s through my ps3 tellin me to stfu or anything. Like people did yesterday. I reported them but because they are American nothing will happen. I went on Home on another account I made. It has an american address. I told everyone off using curses. Anything happen top that account? NOPE. SONY is Biased, they prefer that Cnada not be given the same equal rights as our American brothers and sisters to the South. That is garbage…

Also saying “First” is the GAYEST thing you can do.

Oh and about not buying anything Sony again. I just bought a 360 elite……with GTA and WAW and plan on selling my ps3 and just getting games for the 360. I’ve never had an Xbox before but I hear that the online experience is much better and that you are not treated like a child. I don’t mind paying for a service that is FAIR! Especially when it comes to issues online interactions, oh wait, can’t be rated…… like Home can’t be rated…..cause it’s online….

Anyway, alright for free Full Metal Alchemist!! For the fact that that particular anime ACTUALLY ended (with a proper ending), it’s one of my all-time favorites. (You can go to hell, Inuyasha.)

Why are you using the blog to voice your anger. I’m sure that there are other channels that are more likely to be useful. To me it sounds like you just want attention, and are trolling the PS3 users who ARE happy with their system.

are you kidding me Jeigh? I used it once and I can use it as a descriptor if I want. Last I LOOKED I LIVED IN A FREE COUNTRY NOT NAZI RULE. The way I used gay was to illicit the fact that it’s lame to say “FIRST”, you know it and I know it, unless you are on of those that love to proclaim FIRST. You must be otherwise why would you complain about it. I used it once, so check your response to me for your own errors of communication first.

Im just upset that I get banned for making fun of one of my friends on MY LIST and someone didn’t agree with it and they reported me…. the report function in Home states CLEARLY that is not for reporting “Behavior that YOU DON’T NECESSARILY AGREE WITH”…..

@ Se7enthSign, I won’t be shocked and yes I’ll enjoy the xbox, its just unfair to get constantly harassed by users and to see them get away with it. People can send me death threats through psn messages, I report them and nothing ever happens to them. I kept seeing them around Home so Yes I will vent here because it is the blog, Yes I am angry because I feel the ban was unjust. I would like to see the whole conversation that took place that day. Not just what I said. Also i’m not trolling here because I post here daily and I’ve NEVER seen you post here before today.

If I am so bad in Home, why was I part of Home Conferences all summer long, why would Ideas that I came up with be implemented within the Home environment? Zombies, Micro R/c Vehicles? Soopergooman17, what would happen if your 360 get RROD or the E74 error (not hating the 360, but I criticize MS for not fixing up those)? About the Sony style incident, maybe the guy didn’t have the PS3 or probably never played any video game before, has that ever occured to you? The reason Canada hasn’t got the video service probably because of some sort of law preventing that (Canada, take down that law, NOW!!!). Look, you can’t just take your anger out to people, if you want to deal with your problem take it somewhere else, not here.

I like how the XMB has a direct link to the video store on the video tab now, but not in canada.

If we click on it we get a “this content isn’t available in your country/region” which is a giant tease.

Not only are the US blog commenters going “Ha ha Canada” but our PS3’s are doing it too.

Nice to know you care Sony. The results of the lack of effort you have put into Canada over the past 3 years speak volumes.

I just want to clarify a few things for you:

1) You have absolutely no lawsuit against Sony because what a retailer says would not constitute false advertisement even though the retailer is from Sony Style because they are separate entities even though the parent company may be Sony Corp.
2) You are complaining that you do not meet the age requirement for Home as per the terms of service and it appears that you were banned on Home for being immature, even though it was with another friend. I am willing to bet that you are too young to file a lawsuit in your own name.
3) Finally, you allege that Sony is in violation of the EULA and you said and I quote, “Nowhere does it say that I LEASE my games from you at all”, obviously you do not know what an EULA is! People who purchase content over PSN do not own the software, they are purchasing a license to use it and that license can be revoked.

P.S. you may have the right to use a negative word such as the one used in your second post, but that is a lack of respect and that is why you are a child!

I never once wrote about the lack of the video store here but it is a lacking issue that is of concern for a great number of potential customers. Think about it, winter is almost here and yeah it gets cold here, It’d be nice not to have to go out in the crap and be able to enjoy “All the Features that are advertised”.

“It Only Does Everything”, is shown on T.V. here in Canada, well it DOESN’T DO EVERYTHING.
That RIGHT THERE is Blatant FALSE ADVERTISING!

The rest of you bashing on me obviously never got Banned from Home for a ridiculous reason and if you did you never asked for proof. When you did get a Ban, think back to today and reflect on how immature and ignorant you all answered to me. As for my New 360, it’s for games not everything and I’ll use it only for games. I’ve read their entire EULA and Terms and Agreement and it is much tighter than that of Sony’s. Sony your EULA contradicts itself in many places. To log onto the PSN you HAVE TO BE 21, age of majority in YOUR COUNTRY. As for MY games, nowhere in the Terms and Agreement or either EULA does it say I “LEASE” my games.

Dang Canadian PS3 owners on this blog. Um, instead of complaining about not having videos lets get on COD or Uncharted 2. I could care less about the video store, Vidzone is way cooler. Now that I can see getting angry about. Just use the Netflix idea or is that not a possibility?

I don’t care though, I’m a gamer not much of a movie/Anime/television/sports watcher

I watched one of the Jimmy Fallon montages, and the video quality was not up to my usual expectations. Can you please bump up the average bitrate on it a bit?

With the advent of the Netflix streaming, the PSN store will have to supply 1.5mbit/sec DTS 5.1 (or 2.0, if the show isn’t broadcast in surround) audio tracks on the HD shows for me to continue to justify purchases.

Also, I’m still waiting for Glee (from Fox) and the new “V” series (from ABC) to come in HD.

Looking forward to the improvements! :)
