Qore Episode 19 – Featuring Dark Void, White Knight Chronicles, The Saboteur and ILM

Kevin Furuichi's Avatar Posted by on Dec 02, 2009 // Executive Producer, PlayStation Network

The December Episode of Qore features no fear of heights, a fearsome knight, fighting Nazis at night, and part two of our visit with Industrial Light…and Magic.

What do aliens, Nikola Tesla and the Bermuda Triangle have in common? They’re all tied together in Capcom’s Dark Void. We’ve got an in-depth preview of the story, weapons, and world of this vertigo-inducing game that literally takes the third-person shooter to new heights!

From Japan, the land of the RPG, comes the latest epic title from Dark Cloud developer Level-5 Inc., White Knight Chronicles. Qore examines the combat system, storyline and online components that are sure to impress when the game hits the US early next year.

The story of an Irish racecar driver who gets caught up in the resistance movement in Nazi-occupied Paris sounds unbelievable, but EA’s The Saboteur is based upon a historical figure. Veronica Belmont talks with the developer about the havoc you’ll be able to wreak as you take on the German forces behind enemy lines.

Last month, we visited Industrial Light & Magic’s Presidio campus to see their movie making magic firsthand. In part two of this feature, Audrey Cleo gets to demo some very cool digital cinema technology that’s produced some of the most eye-popping special effects of 2009.

We hope you enjoyed our coverage of ModNation Racers in November’s Episode 18, because now it’s your turn to drive! Every current Qore subscriber on or before December 15 will receive a voucher code to access the ModNation Racers Beta Test. The voucher will be sent to the e-mail address tied to your PSN ID. Check the ModNation Racers website for the official Beta Test start time. Enjoy!

This episode also includes an exclusive White Knight Chronicles PS3 theme to go along with this month’s lead feature, and another theme based on a classic PS2 title, The Mark of Kri, for subscribers as well as single-episode purchasers. So check out this episode’s download center.

Look for Episode 19 tomorrow.

w00t! Looks like a great episode! By the way, is the White Knight Chronicles theme a dynamic one? If not, then hopefully there is a dynamic theme for that game soon.

AWESOME! I’ve been waiting for the ModNation beta to be announced for Qore subscribers :D Can’t wait to expose its flaws in creation of a better final product!

I love Qore.

BTW, if you’re worried about the email thing…
I never get emails from PSN even though I’m set to receive but I did get my MAG beta voucher from Qore without a problem, so you should be good to go. If not, I remember people asking about it on the blog when they didn’t get it and the Qore guys sent them out. You’ll be fine.

On topic, ModNation looks SOOOO hot. It’s like Mario Kart taken to the ultimate level of awesome. This is going to eat many hours of my life.

Qore is well worth the subscription..I am a day one many exclusives, interviews and behind the scenes stuff.

I recommend that all PS3 owners might not be happy with every single episode but over the year it’s well well worth the money :)

Plus you get the bonus of watching the beautiful Veronica Belmont and Audrey Cleo ;)

+ Uraizen on December 2nd, 2009 at 10:28 pm said:

That’s right, keep the free goodies flowing! :)

+ ChrispyCritter on December 2nd, 2009 at 10:45 pm said:

@67 The Sony email system needs work for sure I don’t get my store updates in my email until Saturday :D

As for Qore emails I have got every all of them without issue the last 2 years on time or way early.

I think most of the people that don’t receive their Qore emails probably don’t check their junk or spam mail or have some email issue on their end…

+ SilverPR on December 3rd, 2009 at 6:26 am said:

hey paying 25 bucks for a full year of Qore beats a 60 dollar LBP GOTY for accessing the same beta anyday of the week

YES! ModNation Racers Beta! That pumps me up! I’ve been waiting patiently for a sweet freebie for being a subscriber and here it is. My second year of being a Qore subscriber has been rather lackluster with freebies compared to the first year. This is great, though! And I’ll receive it for December 15th. That’s awesome… that’s my birthday!

Thanks a lot, guys and gals! =)

+ fredrikpedersen on December 3rd, 2009 at 8:28 am said:

Those who already are yearly subscribers, will we receive the code this week or around the 15th?

+ YungShep on December 3rd, 2009 at 8:39 am said:

the last time around i had to contact sony support for access to MAG beta even though i’ve been a qore subscriber since qore launched…i hope this one is not as stressful, but thanks! i love the idea of play testing a game, this truly make or break my decision on a game. every beta i participated in, i’ve bought the game!

+ YungShep on December 3rd, 2009 at 8:41 am said:

@77 so they will likely stop access to qore on the 15th so they can deliver keys to our emails.

im predicting christmas day tho.

Will Qore ever be available for PSPGo via the PlayStation Store?

+ IAFF4117 on December 3rd, 2009 at 12:31 pm said:

Guess I gotta go renew my subscription!!!! Hell to yes!!!!!!!!!

+ redknight4 on December 3rd, 2009 at 3:43 pm said:

I know scea uses for most of the videos embeded on thier post on the blog if you are having problems here make sure the problem is viddler. becase the version of flash on the ps3 is older then the version of flash available also it could be an issue with the amount of memory allocated to the web browser on the ps3 not storage space but actual ram.

+ Lemonaidd on December 3rd, 2009 at 8:47 pm said:

any idea when ModNation Racers beta goes live?

+ gilgamesh21 on December 4th, 2009 at 4:03 am said:

Hi Kevin, since you are Exec.Prod.PSN, I want to give you feedback on PS3 3.10.
1.Please allow the option to choose the “system start-up” I want.
a. Original “Sony Computer Entertainment/ classical music”.
b. New “PS3/ neo-classical music”.
2. Allow me to have the XMB icons/words stay visible or fade.
3. Allow me to turn on/off the “adticker” in top right corner.
4.Please allow me to choose which “media boot-up” screen I want.
a. Original “PLAYSTATION 3/ jingle” splash screen.
b. New “black screen/ no jingle”.
The original splash is comfortable and heart warming!
5. Please bring back basic black! I want the old black colour theme with my sparkles please!
6. Allow me to turn off the Whats New icon, completely removing it from my XMB.
Every user loves superficial customization. Many PLAYSTATION 3 users would make use of these options.
Thanks for your hardwork, I know you’re trying to make PS3/PSN/XMB better. I know SCEA may not be responsible for the changes, so please let SCEI know too.Happy Holidays!
