No wonder 360 fanboys get to brag about higher sales. All these people here would prefer not supporting PS3, but instead buy and spend their time playing out-dated and over-priced 10-15 year old PS1 games.

If I were Sony I wouldn’t sell ANY good PS1 RPGs on the Store or any PS1 games period. Maybe people would actually spend money on PS3 games. PS3 has PS1 backwards compatability, that’s good enough for people living in the past. I would ONLY make downloadable PS1 games availible from the PSP store directly like the comics. Because people with PS3 should be supporting PS3 games. Period.

For shame on you self proclaimed RPG fans not buying Demon’s Souls. And don’t pretend like you all did, because I know from the sale, you didn’t. And I hope all you people crying for PS1 JRPGs are buying White Knight. If not, you’re hypocrites and tools and the reason Sony is still in 3rd.

@148. Me buying things on the psn has no affect on me buying ps3 games. so your comments are probably wasted on the majority of us. I like to get the most out of the system. that includes all aspects of the system, movies, downloadable games, and disc based games. We are here to discuss downloadble content. Stop making assuptions about other people’s spending habits.

i dont know why lots of ppl constantly hate updates that don’t have anything major in them. it kinda pisses me off because people that come out with all this stuff put a lot of effort to make just ONE piece of DLC. i mean yea they make these things because we demand it, but don’t hate on the lesser updates, at least its SOMETHING ya kno? better than nothing. besides, the bigger updates give us something to look forward to. keep the updates comin ppl. :]

@148
If PS1 classics are causing poor sales for ps3 titles, shouldn’t xbox360 and wii games sell poorly as well due to XBLA and Wii’s Virtual Console?
I doubt any ps3 owners would ignore ps3 games and only buy ps1 games. That would be just ridiculous.
PS3 definitely need a good library of new and old games if they are going to compete against XBLA and Virtual Console. Some people want to revisit older games on ps1 and that could be one of their reasons for buying ps3 instead of xbox360.
Demon’s Souls’ poor sales probably don’t have anything to do with people buying ps1 classics. White Knight Chronicles is a mmo styled rpg and Demons’ Souls is a tough game that can be stress inducing. They are not the same as PS1 rpgs. It’s a matter of personal tastes. Demon’s Souls or WKC might not appeal to all rpg gamers. So let’s stop playing blame game.

Wow, nice generalization there pal.
Not everyone who asks for PSOne classics boycotts buying PS3 games too. And for your information, even though PS1 discs are abundant on sites like Ebay, games like Suikoden II DESERVE to be put up on the PSN for the sole reason that it costs upwards of $100 to get a copy anywhere you look online. Not everyone has craploads of money to spend.

Really? A corny fishing game? Where are the PSOne classics that a lot of people actually want? Final Fantasy IX, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, maybe Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Xenogears … the list goes on.

No one wants Bass fishing.

Pretty fail update as far as I am concerned.

Furthermore, the only worthwhile points in the post this week are the price drops on Critter Crunch and Zen Pinball. That is ALL you have given us. TWO WEEKS! Get it together, Sony. Critter Crunch $3.50
Burn Zombie Burn $4.99
Zen Pinball $4.99

Prices like those for games i can’t pass up.

Any word on whether updates to premium & dynamic themes are in the works?

With the frequent firmware updates, new icons get added. This can frequently make a visual mess of the xmb, as they do not match up with the custom icons.

2nd, Why is the inconsistency of an update such an issue? I mean, I’m as excited as the next guy to see what’s new, but really? There nothing else you’re doing but waiting in front of the PSG angrily awaiting the update so that you can be the first person to watch a video? I’m not trying to be cruel, I really would like someone to clarify. I’m sincerely curious, since I’m just satisfied to get the update whenever it comes…
