That box cover was around the internet for quite a while. Everyone thought this one will be the final box art (which means everyone thought it was a leaked official box art). but I guess it was a false rumor.
Hey guys, first time poster, longtime huge fan (God of War, PS3, Sony, Kaz Hirai, Kevin Butler).
There has been quite a brouhaha on various gaming sites and forums due to the box art. Now, it’s understandable that you fine folks at Sony were probably influenced by the sheer artistic ingenuity and integrity presented on the U.S. box art for Metal Gear Solid 4, but surely you guys can 1-up that!
Just imploring if you would reconsider.

I’m pretty disappointed with the box art. You guys broke the tradition of having his back towards us. This is just like the MGS4 box art, at least the CE had the cool one. So the Ultimate Edition should have a different box art. I bet I can make a better box art then that.

Wait, Wait, Wait. Let me get this stright. SCEA asks America if it wants God of War 1+2 in the collectors edition of God of War 3(probably after it had already decided to remake the games).
America says yes please, SCEA ignores that answer and releases it by itself but Europe includes it?

First off for people on here saying they aren’t buying the game because they don’t like the games box art…seriously grow up and get a life if that is going to be deal breaker for you.
Now are as a PS3 Slim bundle with God Of War III, it’s in the works and Sony is trying to keep it a secret. They will eventually give us the info on the bundle. I mean rumor is going on right now that Target cleared out their inventory of the 250GB PS3 Slim model because they know a PS3 Slim God War III bundle is planned and will be coming. Also in Europe it’s already been confirmed and pics are out on the internet about the bundle. But honestly the only way I’ll be buying a 2nd PS3 is if Sony gives us a custom themed God Of War III console like what Japan got with that very nice Final Fantasy XIII bundle.
Also Sony really missed out by releasing the new trailer on 2/11 on SPIKE TV.Sony should have payed the millions and released the new trailer during a Superbowl commercial. They seriously would have gotten more exposure and hype for this game from the people who are casual gamers or the people who still don’t have a PS3 and have been waiting for this game to come out to buy a PS3.

The reason why the HD God Of War Trilogy is being included in the Ultimate Trilogy Edition in Europe is because right now Europe still does not have the option of buying the HD Collection separately. It’s really a trade off would you have preferred SCEA to not release HD collection a last November and made us wait until the release of God War III for the collection to be available to play in HD on the PS3? Also the Ultimate Edition right now is pretty expensive at $99 bucks or even $89 bucks off amazon.com. If they would have included the HD collection it would have drive then God Of War III Ultimate Edition to the $130-$140 price range with out tax. If anything SCEE messed up and screwed the people in Europe by not doing the same release with HD Collection that we Americans got here in the U.S.

If you haven’t picked up the God Of War collection you need to! It’s graphics, gameplay, and story rival some of the best games to this day!

The main question is will this game or should I say “main event” of this year, run in FULL 1080p???
Also, I love Pandora’s Box and all the content that will come with it. But like others I too agree that the box art should have been in the same line of the previous 3 installments and a lot more EPIC! But you never know what Sony Santa Monica Studios has in store maybe the cover art is reversible like the previous ones. Let’s hope.

its not enough we miss out on half the stuff like limited editions to games or official guides.

I was all excited about the Collector’s Edition, but I dont care about the music at all and the box looks like it will be pretty cheesy :( Why wouldnt you give us the Blades of Chaos? I mean, 1 blade, made as a sort of case to hold the dvd of the game and such would have been sweet!

Will the box art for the ultimate edition be the same? Or will it say “ultimate edition” or something like that. Also, will it be a darker version, like the one shown previously? I personally think that would be great to include with the ultimate edition.
What’s with this ugly box art? Sony, please please please change it!!!!!! This resembles nothing of the other two great games. What were you thinking? This is truly by far the ugliest box art in gaming history and I really mean it. I mean come on, kratos looks like he is wearing mascara. we all know that gow 3 will be spectacular and will be a top contender for game of the year. we have the e3 demo but that demo is old from june 2009 and i am hearing the new build blows e3 demo out of the water. now this new footage of titan gameplay has been confirmed and will be shown february 11th on gametrailers tv.
now anyone on this board will get gow 3 no matter what. but i think once sony shows the new footage on february 11th they should release a demo on psn as well showcasing the newer build.
a new demo will bring in all those gamers who forgot about gow because the demo is almost a year old, and get everyone hyped to the maximum for this game as i know this game will own everything and i want it to sale more than those medicore games like halo that have the same old boring gameplay.
besides once the trailer is released february 11th, they might as well release the demo so we can play that sequence because we would have already seen it.
