  • are they trying to add all the ps1 classic games no one plays first?

  • Still no Dissidia retail Price, no Crisis Core. Well if that PSP2 ever comes out, I don’t think i’ll be purchasing it. I want my money back sony!

  • Meh, a ok update…only because the previous ones were lacking at best.

(Quoting @40) “beggars can’t be choosers.”
Its really sad that gamers aka customers, of what it is that Sony is selling (half-heartedly) even have reason to use such a phrase as the one above.

Personaly I had thought about getting rid of my PSPno about a month ago due to lack of so many already exsisting UMD games not being released and new release titles that are still not available. This update was my last to wait. I’m getting rid of it tomorrow.

I also boycott all these “second-hand” games being “ported” to psn, Braid touted as a “new” game released on psn nearly a year after the 360 having it, with added insult the $14.99 price is laughable. (half price for a time, $7.49 is still a joke. $4.99 would have been reasonable.)

    Assault Heroes…
Castle Crashers…when its released later this year at $14.99 over a year after the 360 release…

Sony, support your fan base by supporting your console & handheld.
Dont milk our wallets on old titles.

And for the love of all things “Gamer”….never give your LOYAL & DEDICATED fans a reason to say….
    “beggars can’t be choosers.”

  • I have reflexes on par with someone dead, I hope we can get some rpg action up in here

  • Booooooooo no Bad Company 2 demo like 360 got. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I want PES2010 on psp go !!!
pls pls pls pls pls pls pls pls…

  • Nice update with the UC2 demo, but I have been forever waiting for the arrival of ‘Brave Fencer Musashi’ for PSone classic to come to the store. :)

  • @Kal-Hell – Go back to your rrod machine then you xbot. Jeesh. You had to be a typical xbot and bash the PS3.. well you are going to get a lot of flak for that.. doing that on the official PS blog is a no go. Get the hell out if you don’t like it.

The demo of Uncharted 2 was released as 100000s of people got a ps3 in the last few months. It’s been proven that demos can hurt a game if done before release, sometimes. People will play it and say ok , i got enough out of that, and don’t buy it. Doing this way people see the videos and the only way to play it is to buy it. After they get their initial sales they release the demo so people that didn’t go get the game get a taste. Not all sales need to be done on week 1. OF course xbots wouldn’t realize that.

  • A perfect day on the blog ruin by a crappy store update.

  • This is a great update. But yeah Sony we need more PS1 rpgs… Square Enix has over 30 rpgs and other games like Bushido Blade, FF9, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, etc… that you guys haven’t released. There is also Sony’s own LEgend of Dragoon (my favorite RPG of the PS1 era). Vandal Hearts 1 and 2, Suikoden2 from Konami, Mega man legends 1,2,and tron bonne, breath of fire series from Capcom. Colony wars from Psygnosis(sony leeds), Diablo 1 from Blizzard, RE/Loaded, deception, fear effect, legend of Legia, lunar silver star story. Why are none of these games being released on the US PSN? They have them in Japan.

I am a major, major RPG fanatic and I love these games. It’s so cool to be able to play PS1 games on the PSP and on the PS3.. You’ve been asked multiple times. Just putting out a few ff games isn’t going to cut it , we want the entire PS1 library. Even your 1st party library GT, GT2 ect aren’t even on PS1 what’s up with that. You want to increase the psp library then release these epic classic games already! Just saying PLEASE!

  • Nothing special

  • Um ok seriously wtf is the obsession with pool n pinball? Do u guys realize u have 20 variations of both on the psn store? Seriously u release mini n a “classic” which r both pinball related. Come on put out real games. U can only play so much pool n pinball. Give us the games we request n stop with the crap.

  • @BlooodyCow – Do you ever have anything positive to say? The sense of entiltement you guys just shocks me. There are 56 weeks to a year. Every week can’t be great. I take it you weren’t here a few years ago where you wouldn’t get games for weeks. The unleaash over 3 full games , a bunch of dlc and add ons, 2 ps1 games, and demos and still their are whiners.

  • @phinnv you complain every week. I guess you missed the exclusive BC2 beta for the PS3 over a month ago huh? Jeesh, go play your rrod machine.. Kids these days.

  • The lack of PS1 classics = to sell more new PSN titles like pixeljunkie games. As you can see on the top downloads chart, Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are the best selling games. Of course PS1 games sell better than other original psn titles because they are cheaper and generally better, longer games that once released as full-priced games in the past. I think they are releasing games like Championship Bass and Extreme Pinball since these games won’t interfere with the sales of other PSN titles. Poor strategy on their part since it isn’t working and it’s getting the fans upset.

Also, lack of PSP games = they want you to buy minis games. I assume minis games are not selling. They are too expensive for mini games IMO.

Lastly, the top download chart for the past 2 weeks had no ps1 games, then this week they magically re-appear back on the chart. It doesn’t take a genius to guess what’s going on.

Well, I wish the best for PSN but if what I mentioned are remotely true then they need to change their strategies. If they want to build a community of fans, they are doing the exact opposite of what they should be doing.

  • @Psikorps – an old title to you is a new title to me an a lot of other people. I don’t own that pos rrod machine and never will. I don’t support that pay to play crap unless it’s an mmo. Just because a game came out on another system doesn’t mean it’s crap. Just because a game is old doesn’t mean it’s crap. I play PS1 classics on PSP and older psn/ps2/ps3 games all the time. I don’t get how this gen of gamers think old games are crap. There are 1000s of old games that I would love to come to psn. Just because you are one of the “have to have new to be good” crowd doesn’t mean the rest of us are.

  • Also when is the pseye gonna obtain some support I bought it a year ago n it still has the same “games”. I mean seriously I should get the ps3 motion controller for free just for supporting this pice of unsupported crap for so long? Why release a device n not support it? Oh wait that sounds like I’m talking bout a psp too. In fact iam. Both cases of products with great potential and zero support. Sony stop screwing ur customers n loyalist. U want people to buy ur products support them with content and give them a reason to.

  • @112 midnightshade
Tell me, has there been any good update this year? I know it just the first month, but you think they can start the year with some decent update rather than crappy ones.

I love Sony and anyone that has me (my real account, not BlooodyCow) on their PSN, knows how much I support Sony. I buy all their first party games and all the PS3 exclusive. Well maybe I miss one or two PSN games because I have no interest in them, but I probable buy 95% of all Sony first party exclusive and about 90% of exclusive overall. I just want to see them succeed and support the fans a little more with better store updates. We had 1 avatar (premium) update in 2+ year. With all the backlog of PS1 games, you think we might get more each week on the PSN.

  • @BlooodyCow – Ok , my bad.. I see your point there. I too would love some avatars and PS1 rpgs and other ps1 games. I just get mad when I see people bashing .. there is always xbox trolls on this forum which drives me crazy, as they always bash. Anyway, i do agree with what you said on your last comment.

  • @118 midnightshade
Yeah, I would love for them to add some PS1 JRPG on the PSN. I never got a chance to play FF9, Legend of Dragoon, and the other classic PS1 JRPG. I played FF7 back in the PS1 days, all the twisted metal games (would love the buy them again since I no longer have the disks). Sony have such a rich history of games on PS1 that they can release on the PSN, but somehow they are taking their sweet azz time. I understand there is legal problems, but can the please put some more effort into getting them for us.
Also the whole avatar situation is just laziness. I go the Playstation forums and I see a ton of user created PSN Icon that they want Sony to use. How hard is it exactly to create these icons.

  • i want linkin park for Rock Band Unplugged!

  • The Uncharted 2 DLC should have been free. I thought it was in Japan.

  • Why’s our Battlefield Bad Company 2 demo 1/2 weeks after the the other console’s?

  • i think i’d have more fun just hitting my pspgo with a hammer than actually playing it because the games i really want are not on play station store, for ex. FF CRISIS CORE! Adding no actual psp games makes me very upset sony

  • Booooring

  • Most of the ps1 titles that they have put up can be had for a buck or two at used shops. And yes, I will complain, cus they said they would support it and they barely are. I mean the go was a “big deal” for Sony at E3, they made a big deal about it, hyped it up and then……….. yeah. I will admit there are a few good games, ff7,8,tactics, but I didn’t spend 250 bucks to have three or four games for it. And it is up to Sony, if they want games on psn they will work with the publishers to get them on there, but kicking back and say ‘they’ll come to us” is just bad business. If the publishers want more of a cut, do it. Don’t charge the publishers…….anything, that’s just backwards.

  • @Psikorps – How much are you selling it for? Feel free to message me on the PS3

  • COD mw2 should have downloadable areas, new ones, with more people and less invisible crap….wicked game, but more foreign settings or domestic ones!

  • I regret buying LittleBIGPlanet for the PSP. I would NEVER pay for downloadable content with it. I can’t even play with friends on it. What a joke. I hate it. The levels suck, the play sucks, and creating levels suck too. Hello no to PAID DLC.

On the other hand – Uncharted 2 – YES!

  • Not too bad of an update. Downloading the Uncharted 2 demo now (already planning on buying it next paycheck, though).

By the way, I really wish you guys would put more of the better PSOne Classics on PSN. More frequently anyway. When will Xenogears come to the US PlayStation Store?

  • Might get the winter games. Sky jump was such a POS that I can’t pass this gem up. Minus wind for the MF’in win. Reminds me of the Tour de France game. Hours that wont ever come back.

  • Decenent update. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap the U2 skins were. Pool’s not my thing, and from what I’ve heard, the AC2 DLC “flows” better when it has the proceeding memory, so I’m down with buying it, just not yet. As for the LBP PSP “level packs”, are they actually playable levels, or just extra stickers/goodies etc….Dissapointing PSPgo support though.

  • Awesome update. BTW, can we request what games we would like to see added to the PSone Classics?

  • what happened to the AVP demo?
if its not going to be out till after next week please at least have the courtesy to tell us so i can get my preorders in.
i wanted to see if the game is any good before i preorder it since rebellions last 2 games bit it raw! but it looks like as usual your not going to let me do that.

  • Are we ever going to see the Demon’s Souls dynamic theme on the US store?

  • Nice to see Hustle Kings.

Seems to be another disastrous PSPgo update. Still no Williams Collection.

  • Thursday Feb 28th was a epic day for Sony.

    1. They release all that stuff on the PSN

    2. Heavy Rain goes gold and the demo will be here the same date worldwide

    and now…..

3.GTA 4 Liberty City Stories The Lost and Ballad of Gay Tony will be publish on the PSN and standalone on March. check IGN

Great day to be a PS3 user!!!!

  • 3 weeks of crap. thanks, sony.

  • Hi Grace,
Thanks again for the Gravity Crash sale; what a great game!

And thanks for the Uncharted 2 and Thexder Neo demos!

Any word yet on if or when PayPal can be accepted to fund our PSN wallets?

Thanks and have a great weekend!

  • Sorry, one more thing Grace; every time I try to download the Gravity Crash “sun” wallpaper it downloads as the Gravity Crash “space” wallpaper. There might be a problem somewhere there. Anyone else get this too?

  • @midnightshade

Thats not really what I’m saying, Sorry if it came across that way.

What I am saying is this…

As a PS3 gamer, fan, customer and owner I am tired of seeing games “given” to the 360 first.
Making their money there, then when they FINALY get around to bringing the games to the PS3, we, as sort of “second class” gamers are supposed to be all grateful and joyful that we have been blessed with such a great gift.

Games that are out for a year or more, and are being sold to us as though they were just released.

I really dont care if its 360, or Wii, or any other platform. If its a old title, it should have a price tag on par with that fact, as the developers made their money…to have them look at the PS3 as a place “games go to die” after being released elsewhere is annoying and rightfully so.

As for old games, I own 17 of the currently released PS1 classics, I wish some of the more popular titles were released though.

I play them on PS3 and PSP aswell, just because their is old does not make it crap, very true but if those PS1 classics were being sold for $30 a pop, I sure wouldn’t have bought the 17 I have. Good games, old, pricing on par with that fact. (Like Greatest Hits)

  • I want Uncharted 2 skins and Assassin’s Creed Add-on, but only have money to buy one. What do I do?

  • @126…lol
    I’ll pass thanks though.

Im trading my PSPno for a PSP3000 again…all the best games are on UMD and new releases are available at launch

I’m done supporting a product that the company itself does not support properly.

The PSPgo is a great machine, outstanding really but its the games that make it or break it.

Unfortunatly it just does not pull its weight yet in that department, maybe next year as more developers get on board with digital releases and Sony gets cracking on getting digital versions of the current UMD games.

  • @CaptPierce.

Just my personal opinion…but I would get the AC2 add on.
Because it adds new stuff to the game, where as “skins” only change how the game looks but really dont add to it.

  • More PSOne classics no one wanted.

  • A lot of these complaints should be directed at the third parties, not Sony.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s Sony device, so they should be spearheading the effort to get 3rd party content up in the store. But still, 3rd parties have to want to put the content up, and in many cases, it doesn’t seem like they are the ones interested.

And some, like Square and Konami, seem to be interested in spacing out their releases. They don’t want to release more games until current ones stop selling. (Square most notably).

That said, clearly Sony isn’t do that great a job, with some of their old games not up yet. And I have to wonder about the mini approval process, when US developers can get their games up on the store in EU before NA.

  • Please work with Q Entertainment to bring Rez HD over to the PS3 on PSN. A dynamic Rez HD Theme would be great as well.

Other than that no complaints nice update.

  • Nice update and PSOne Classics are ALWAYS welcome!

Any news on when we can see the following PSOne Classics on PSN please:

    – Xenogears
    – Parasite Eve (1&2)
    – Chrono Cross

    Thanks again for the updates!

  • why can’t they put up games like final fantasy 9, xenogears, marvel super heroes vs. street fighter, x-men vs. street fighter, marvel vs. capcom, capcom vs. snk pro, capcom vs. snk 2, svc chaos: snk vs. capcom, guilty gear xx accent core +, neogeo battle coliseum, king of fighter neowave, parasite eve, parasite eve 2, vagrant story…

    hm..

wonder when we’re getting another firmware update. i bet they’re really taking their time and actually doing a QC and a QA with the next one to make sure people don’t report issues with it…and i hope soon we get that b/c patch thing…
