3D Dot Game Heroes: Your One-Stop Shop for Natural Sword Enhancement

Aram Jabbari's Avatar Posted by on Feb 04, 2010 // Manager of PR and Sales, ATLUS

PlayStation Blog readers,

No one wants it to be them: the King tasks you with slaying evil and saving the kingdom and suddenly you’re unable to get the job done. You come up short. You can’t perform.

So why sit around wondering if you’ll be up to the challenge of rescuing Dotnia? It’s time to take some action and make sure that when you need to make with the hero-ness, you’re ready for whatever comes your way.

Introducing the Blacksmith, your one-stop shop for natural sword enhancement! You don’t have to be shy about it; every hero wonders at some point: Is that hero in a neighboring kingdom going into battle with better equipment than I am? Do all the land’s denizens look down on me for having a smaller blade in my scabbard?

Worry no longer, adventurers! One trip to the Blacksmith and a few well-spent coins will make you prouder, braver, and more dangerous than ever before. Get yourself a big heaping of good ole’ respect with some upgrades from the man with the metal mallet – the Blacksmith!

This is just one in a series of video vignettes we have planned, PlayStation Blog readers. Stay tuned for more, and don’t forget to pre-order your copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes, coming to PlayStation 3 on May 11, 2010 with an MSRP of only $39.99!

No final decisions have been made regarding Atlus Spoils bonuses for 3D Dot Game Heroes. Still, it should be mentioned that we are bringing the game to North America at the awesomely irresistable price of only $39.99.

Not to post twice in a row, but these are REALLY clever (saw this one on Gamepro yesterday)… how about a DVD with these promos as a pack in. This game is going to be such a blast. I love the insane fighting mechanics.

I just hope I’m able to pre order when the time comes. If not I hope its not a short lived print run.

I love how the poor little [DELETED] is getting knocked left and right like no one’s business in the beginning of the promo. Poor little guy.

Awesome video! Any chance we’ll see some of those great Atlus Spoils for the game? :)

SOooooo….the question is, After increase the size of my small sword into a monstrously massive sword…will i be able to hack n slash for much longer periods of time? Will Dotnia be impressed by massive sword and stamina? We shall see….

The door isn\’t closed on special stuff for 3D Dot Game Heroes, but the decision was made early on to make the game as appealing and accessible to as many PlayStation 3 owners as possible, hence the game\’s super-duper $39.99 MSRP at launch.

This whole promotion is one long joke about the male member, and I use the proper word for it beginning with a “P”, in the context of asking a reasonable question, and my word use gets censored?

Some people have a really skewed view of what is and isn’t reasonable. And while I might be one of them … I am not alone here.

AHA! The greatest of all spices for the low-brow chef. Ah, innuendo, is there nothing you can’t make dirty?

Kudos to Atlus for opening the door for Freudian analysis of pretty much every RPG, action and adventure game ever released! (Aerith and Sephiroth pretty much at the top of that list)

+ Voozi on February 4th, 2010 at 10:21 am said:

There’s a difference between rip off & a homage, 3D Dot Game Heroes is a homage.

Any ETA on when the replacement guides will be mailed out?

Looks like a lot of fun! was browsing the site yesterday and it sold me on the game. Can’t wait to play it. *That* game was, i think, the first game i ever owned, so i am curios about 3D.H and what bit of nostalgia can bring me.

PS. Demon’s Souls is AWESOME. More PS3 RPGs are welcome!

Except for the fact that this game quite possibly could be the GREATEST GAME EVAR (in this style)!!!!!! This will be a first day buy for me, and i will pre-order even if there are no plans for spoils~

Quick question though (2 actually)…
1. is there going to be DLC? i would love to keep playing this even after i finish!
2. How does the Network part work (if any)?

I must say this was a great preview for the game, loved the humor. I myself of course have it preordered, and have really been trying to inform the ps3 owners that shop at the local Gamestop about this game.

And I can now say there is a few extra people out there waiting for this game to come out, and at $40, I must thank you, as must my wallet.
