Hi everyone! For those of you who still have yet to pick up your very own PSPgo system, there’s no better time than now. As most of you already know, PSPgo is the first all-digital, full-game handheld entertainment system on the market to date. Since its launch last October, we’ve seen a tremendous response to the newest member of the PSP family. If you’re ready to take the next step in portable entertainment, you’re in luck!

For a limited time, we’re offering an incredible value to all of you PSP newbies. Now through Sunday, March 21, 2010, U.S. and Canadian consumers who purchase a new PSPgo system can download one of our top PSP titles from the PlayStation Store at no additional cost. How you ask? In short, this limited-time offer combines the PSPgo system with a PSPgo In-game Promotion Code, which entitles you to a digital download of either LittleBigPlanet (PSP) or Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines.

PSPgo Voucher Code

The PSPgo In-game Promotion Code redemption process is simple:

  • You must purchase a new PSPgo unit between Thursday, February 18, 2010 and Sunday, March 21, 2010.
  • To redeem code, you must create a PlayStation Network account or login to your existing account directly from your PSPgo system.
  • SCEA will then e-mail a code (using the email associated with one’s PSN account), which is good for one qualifying PlayStation Network account to download the game for the PSPgo system, via the PlayStation Store.
  • All in-game promotion codes must be redeemed by March 31, 2010.

With more than 300 downloadable games, and more than 2,700 movies and 17,000 TV episodes available on the PlayStation Network (video download service available to U.S. residents only), PSPgo is the ultimate handheld entertainment system designed for the digital lifestyle. Again, the PSPgo In-game Promotion Code will only be available for a short while so be sure you take advantage of this limited offer soon. As always, we look forward to hearing your feedback. Enjoy!

  • This is really messed up … u guys give the newbies free games while some of us who bought it on the first day it came out get nothing…. we believed the psp go! was going to be a great thing while other people thought it was simply going to fail… u guys at sony should really consider giving us a thanks or some freebies too

  • 1.So we got a crap version of rockband lite
UK gets like up to 5 free games if you have umds on the list and UK also got GT for free.

2.I dont think Sony cares as much for are psp go Owners.

3.Make it for “launch to end date” that would be fair.

4.At least put some Digital Downloads on RLS.

  • HEY SONY, WHY NOT RESPOND TO THE PEOPLE?? TOO AFRAID TO GET FLAMED?

  • Glad to see I’m not the only one that feels left out!

  • I too was lucky enough to buy my PSPgo last Thursday, however I too have yet to see any sign of the email with the voucher code… was planning to buy and play both LBP and AC:B, but it would be awesome if i could save that $40…

  • Still no voucher code. What gives?

  • THANK YOU SONY FOR SCREWING EARLY ADOPTERS YET AGAIN. F U TOO.
I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT YOUR PRODUCT ON DAY ONE.

  • I’ll stick with my PSP 2000 so I can actually play new games when they come out on UMD thanks anyway.

  • I did buy a PSP go based on this promotion and have not received an email (its been over 24 hours)… is there anyone to contact?

  • I also bought a PSPGo on 2/18 — no email or any information from Sony yet. If the bonus has been available as of 2/19 per this blog title is there anyone we should/can contact?

  • WTF!!!!! I bought my go on day one, no game for me!!!!. They should give this offer to every one wo has bought the go.

  • hmmm I just got my psp go since january, Can I still get those games.

  • Yeah, I just bought a new PSPgo due to this promotion as well and I have received no email at all either with the code for the free game!

  • Where is my code?????? I did what you said. I want my damn game!

  • where’s my voucher ?..

  • Start Rant.
If anyone has received there voucher please post how long it took. I found this only http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psp&thread.id=3525802&view=by_date_ascending&page=2 He said, he called Sony and they said it takes around a week. They wait for the store to send the serial number in? What? You are kidding right Sony. I mean it registered the serial number to PSN when you logged in right? I mean the PSN server knows the mac address, the IP, the serial number, what account it is registered to and activated on, and the email account associated with it now, and whether this PSPGo was ever online or ever recorded before as sold. Probably knows if any games were ever installed on it. What gives? What? Give me my game already!
I already own a PSPGo Small and Bluetooth, 1000 OG, 2000 thin, and 3000 bright and mic.
They are so great when you have a bunch of people over to rock it with.

  • So, I went to Target, bought my wife a PSPGo today, now our second PSPGo. The reason why is she likes the portability of it and loves to plug it into the bedroom television and use the PS3’s controller with it, it is like a mini ps3, (kind of) but I usually have the PSPGo with me so I thought this was a great opportunity to pick one up for her and get Bloodlines for me for free, since we already own LBP.

I did what you asked Sony.
Opened the box, charged it, updated it to 6.20, logged into my account, activated the console and then checked my email. No email and no voucher. What else is there to do? You never said I have to wait an hour or 2 weeks or I would have probably not bought it today, since I already have enough units.

  • This would bring me to the total lot shared of games between the PSP’s. The advantage of owning digital download games is that you can have the games on 5 PSP’s with the same PSN account. That makes up for the price of the games when you feel like they should be cheaper because of the no UMD’s and no packaging. That is pretty sweet Sony, thanks for doing that! That should answer your questions on why I would own so many besides the reason above I sated. I also love them all and would never sell one just to upgrade to the newest version. Been in since day one.
I expected to be playing Bloodlines after I purchased the PSPGo and that is not happening. You said it was easy.

  • Well I don’t think so. I mean I am writing to you now about this. 6 hours after the fact. This will not encourage others to act so fast on this promotion. Why would you make a promise and then make someone wait. With today’s technology and you Sony, being one of the leaders of it, this should be immediate and you know it. You take money right away, where is my game you promised me. I will return the PSPGo in 5 days if I don’t receive mine by the 26 of Feb 2010.
Then you can take it back from the store I purchased it from used. I have no patients for this kind of promotion. I am a loyal customer and have spent thousands of dollars on you.
This really sucks. Who the hell wants Rockband on a PSP anyway? Especially, a scaled down version of it.
    End Rant.
    5 Days Sony…

  • Dear Sony,

I want to point out in all sincerity that I was joking and intended to “lol” my earlier post but forgot… Instead I seemed like a selfish d-bag, but I did not mean to. LOL

But someone on the forums said it may take about a week for us to get our codes. Kind of screwy if that’s the case and you never told us, but okay. I can live with it. So calm down people. We will get our free games… eventually. lol

As far as people [DELETED] about not getting a free game when they bought a PSPGo at launch: are you serious? This type of stuff happens all the time. Just deal with it. It’s like people who bought an iPhone at launch, and then Apple dropped the price a hundred bucks or something like that a few weeks later.

That’s just the way it goes. Accept it for what it is! You can’t go bitch because you HAD to have a game or something the DAY it came out, then Best Buy has a promotion for a free $25 dollar gift card with that same game the next week. That’s life, pal. Grow up.

  • Sony gave like 3 free games to European folks who updated to Go’s when they first came out. Should we complain about that? Or about not getting games on the same day as other countries, not having TV services for PS3 or PSP that other countries have? Not having video store in certian countries? No, we should just shut the hell up.. but instead we will just [DELETED] and [DELETED]. Such a needy and ungrateful bunch of people that feels the world owes us something, aren’t we?

It’s free stuff. Don’t get mad because you didn’t get something FOR FREE. This is their way of giving something back to the North American people who buy a Go. It’s an awesome deal and very kind of them. Just like THQ giving away Red Faction: Guerrilla for free to people who purchase Darksiders. It’s a free game… pretty frickin’ awesome kif you ask me. Yet everyone had to gripe about it.

You always forgo awesome deals like this when you BUY SOMETHING AT LAUNCH! So PLEASE stop complaining!

  • Wait.. I just read that Sony gave away Gran Turismo PSP free to Go owners when it first launched. If that’s true, then everybody’s [DELETED] about nothing…

  • You know, there’s something else about this promotion I don’t quite understand…

They email you a Voucher code…but how do they know what game you want? Is it supposed to take you to a screen where you choose the game after you enter the code?

I guess no one here would know, however, since I’ve yet to hear of anyone getting a code thus far…

I didn’t buy my PSPgo on day one, like most people here, but I did buy it within the same month. Until I got a LBP voucher as a x-mas gift from my girlfriend, I didn’t even use my Go much for that two months. (And, the voucher didn’t even work at first, had to fax to Sony to get it to work, which was a PITA)

I just think it’s a rip-off to not get some sort of cool game for being a general supporter of the Go, and not buying it at a specific time or date. All Go purchasers should get their choice of one game, no matter what.

Someone needs to contact Sony about this and see what they say. I’d like to see what they come up with for this one.

  • I have supported sony tremendously over the years but the PSP go is where it has to stop. The GO is a NO GO for me. It’s a failure on so many levels, and should also be pretty obvious to a lotta gamers out there, even the fan boys.

  • @rockstarnati
It was free to UK users. The US buyers (like me) only received a patapon 2 demo (had already bought the full game) and the rock band unplugged lite edition (still cannot buy the full download release)…

  • PSPgo is too much money for not enough content. And I wil never buy one at $250. I can get a 3000 PSP for $100 dollars less and buy a PS2 with the cash I save. And PS2 needs a price drop too $100 for a system that does not even get new games they just port PSP games over to it. And there are too many good game on PS3 right now any way. :)

  • Sony can keep the free game if they could PLEASE GET ROCKSTAR TO FIX THE BUGGY VICE STORIES AND LIBERTY CITY DOWNLOADS!!!!

People have been complaining about these for months and Sony and Rockstar haven’t done a thing.

  • I will just pile on with the other owners. As an early adopter I am sick of getting hosed. I marched out like a good fan and I get zilch for it? Seriously? It might be time to start wondering about my loyalty.

  • Just got off the phone with Sony. Customer service guy never heard of the promotion. After he saw this very blog page, he looked it up and said the vouchers could take a week to be sent out.

  • @x-Kicks-x Ah ok. I see. Crappy.

  • So i just emailed them and this was their reply.
“If the consumer is 17 years or older, they will receive Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines. If the consumer is under 17, they will receive LittleBigPlanet for PSP”
and they said it would be sent out within the week.
I want little big planet. I wonder if changing my birthday would help?

  • Pretty stupid if you don’t even get a choice. Does anyone really care about Assassin’s Creed?

  • I don’t. and i just emailed them and said what if we have assassins creed and they said they there wasnt anything they can do cause the vouchers are sent to the age you signed up with.

  • I sent them an email myself (praying that I don’t get an automated response and someone actually reads it).

My situation is thus: I bought a PSPGo for my daughter, who is 7, as a birthday present this weekend based on this promotion. Now, as she is only 7, I don’t want her to have a PSN ID just yet, so I logged in with my ID with the idea that once she gets her LittleBigPlanet I would then erase my account information before handing over the system.

Since no where in the promotional information does it indicate that Sony will pick the game for you (it sounds much more like you get to choose the game yourself), I was a little surprised to read the comments here that it’s based on the age of the account.

Naturally I don’t want my 7 year old playing Assassin’s Creed, so I hope Sony can work with me to ensure I get a LittleBigPlanet code, otherwise I’ll just return the PSPGo.

  • Sony is making all the classic mistakes of failed, once great businesses (IBM, Xerox, etc…). Sony is deciding what it thinks the consumer should have and not listening to what the consumer wants. If you don’t give the customers what they want, don’t be surprised when they go to someone who will. Xbox and Nintendo seem to know exactly what their customers want and that is what they give them.

    Sony… not so much.

Giving the buyer the game they want should be a real easy thing to do. If Sony can’t get something this easy right, then they should really consider getting out of the home entertainment business.

  • I bought my PSP Go on Wednesday, February 17, I’m kinda pissed to be honest. How can they offer this to new buyers and not everyone else? I hate complaining, but that sucks.

  • I agree… my PSP is for my daughter… if they send her assasins creed, there is going to be some serious problems.

  • UGH I hope we get to pick which game we want. I don’t want Assassin’s Creed at all. What a bummer. :(

  • What if you didn’t get emailed the code yet? Is there a waiting period to receive?

  • @ rockstarnati

I think what people are really upset about is Sony’s decision to screw over those who have shown loyalty to their brand. I have been a loyal Sony owner since the days of the original cassette tape Walkman and never have I felt so betrayed. It has only been 5 months since this product has been released and already people who buy now are getting a much better deal than those who already purchased. I received a PSP Go as a gift for X-Mas otherwise I probably would never have gotten one ( I never even updated from the original PSP- never thought it was necessary). Now I find out someone who drops cash on this thing gets a better deal?

  • @ rockstarnati

Also, you can’t compare this situation with a gift card or something else being offered in store. We are talking about a digital service rather than a physical copy of a product. A good enough reason for Sony to give this promo to already existing PSP Go owners is the word of mouth advertising it would create for the product (which is free advertising for Sony and also known as the best kind of advertising). So buddy, next time you feel like attacking other users of this site maybe you think out both sides of the issue before running your mouth and proving that the 1 brain cell you have left is dying of boredom.

  • So lets see what Sony has to say about this. Will they actually reply and let us know what they were thinking when they came up with this half baked scheme? Or will they leave us in the dark to get more irritated until we finally give up on them and move to a different company (it’s not like they are the only choice out there for any products they sell). Your move Sony.

  • @narmstrong

Okay. You make some good points. Also, I did not mean to “attack” anyone and apologize if I came off like a d-bag… but all I was trying to say is that this type of stuff happens all the time. There’s not much, if anything, we can do about it; and we should not feel so entitled. Nowadays everybody thinks the world owes them something. It’s an epidemic and that was my main problem with this whole thing.

    BUT

To be honest, I’ve had some time to think about this and the fact that European customers essentially got 4 free games at launch and the US got jack really is B.S. I’m pissed about it too. I was thinking in terms of people complaining about new go customers getting a free game, but not old ones. I neglected to factor in the fact that Europe got free games at launch. I apologize. I honestly wasn’t thinking straight. It really is messed up.

  • Forget my tired late night ramblings and focus on this: Europeans had a chance to get a total of 4 free games at launch. New customers, like me, have a chance at a free game. US launch consumers got nothing. That’s a crap deal, Sony, even for new US costumers in a way. US launch customers deserve better. I wish I could give you all a free game to apologize for being such a dumb@$$last night. lol

  • i have a psp go and i recive a promotion code in 7jan 2010 on the UK psn i download one of three games. now can i recive promotion code again or yes how to do it just i should go to the playstation store and the code will be send for me?
    thanks for any help.

  • At what point do you get to choose Assassins Creed or LBP? I got an email yesterday regarding this promo, but it only advertised Assassins Creed, which I couldn’t care less about. Ah well. I’ll skip on the PSPGo until CFW gets back in the game.

  • We don’t get to choose, if you’re 17 or older, you’ll automatically get Assassin’s Creed. Everyone else gets LBP.

  • That totally sucks if we can’t choose. I wish Sony would get off their asses and reply to these comments. The confusion really needs cleared up. They should be obligated to tell us it will take a week to get the code and we can’t choose what game we want.

  • I agree about not being able to pick the game as it says NO WHERE in the promo that they pick for you based on the age of the PSN ID.

As for when we get the codes I think it’s a little funny that the promo says “Get your PSPGo and a game TODAY!” not a week later.

  • What about all of the loyal PSPGo owners who got their PSPGo on day 1? When Europe did this promotion they didn’t leave out the people who had already supported sony. Why wont US/Canada do they same? That seems unfair that if we would have waited to get the Go we would get this promotion when we were the ones who help create that

“tremendous response to the newest member of the PSP Family.”

A little love for the proud owners would be nice too!
