White Knight Chronicles: Free Quests through June!

Cristian Cardona's Avatar + Posted by Cristian Cardona on Mar 09, 2010 // Associate Product Marketing Manager, Software Marketing

By now we’re hoping many of you out there are enjoying everything White Knight Chronicles has to offer on the PS3. For those of you who have gone through the single player campaign, there’s still plenty to do on GeoNet and with the Georama. If you haven’t taken a look, be sure to check out this video that tells you all about it!

And if you think you’ve done it all, guess again. Beginning this Thursday, March 11th, we’ll be offering up additional quests for free every week through the end of June! You read right, free. Just log into the PlayStation Network, start up your copy of White Knight Chronicles and you’ll see new quests pop up on the World Map. Each week we’ll be releasing a new permanent quest, as well as limited quests that will only be available for two weeks at a time. To find out which quests are active, be sure to follow our Twitter account. We’ll be shooting the names of the permanent and temporary quests out through there.

To celebrate these weekly updates, we’re going to run a sweepstakes! Just log into any of the following quests in White Knight Chronicles:

  • All in the Cards
  • All in the Cards II
  • Station Attendant
  • Station Attendant II
  • Heat Waves
  • Heat Waves II

Log in between 5pm PST on Friday, March 19 and 11:59pm on Sunday, March 21 to get entered into a drawing to win a 12-inch White Knight figure:

White Knight Chronicles Figure

Specific rules to the contest are below.

Good luck!

Love this game, I have over 250 hours in it already with no signs of stopping. Thanks for supporting it.

The figure unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. I would like to personally suggest you air (if possible) the incredibly awesome UK commercials. Those commercials really get across what this games strengths are. Looking forward to your continued support.

WKC in-game character name: Augwys

Damn. I don’t have any of those quests. What are they, GR8+? All the same, this is definitely awesome news. Way to show love for the early adopters. =D

@ reson8er (1)
Agreed. I really am shocked at how many games releasing on the PS3 are being let slip through the advertising cracks. For such a massive first quarter release schedule (WKC, Heavy Rain, GoW3, MAG, (FFXIII), Bioshock 2) the public at large probably has next-to-no idea.

Great news. I’m really enjoying the online part of the game.

What are the GR requirements for the quests listed above? Are they also available only during the sweepstakes period or will they become permanent quests?

GR requirements for the above start at 7. They will be available after the sweepstakes (except for the limited quests). You’ll see which ones those are each week through our Twitter account.

Is there any way to get some of these quests permanently? I don’t want to enjoy some quests and hten not be able to play them anymore after the 2 week period. They should stay unlocked if you’ve beaten it more than X amount of times. T_T

well, after beating the game i trade it on my local gamestop for a couple of psp games.because i found the storyside of the game to be short..(btw,there’s a bug that freezes your ps3 in the last maze)the online portion of the game is well done but the thing with me is that i share my ethernet cable when noone is on the computer because all the routers that i have tried have fail shortly afterward…

anyhow, like i said the online portion of the game is fun but storywise the game is short.hope that the next wkc will be more complete in the story and gameplay department as well!

+ Revolting on March 9th, 2010 at 1:58 pm said:

The issue with lack of DLC available outside the USA territory mentioned in comment 3 is also true in Europe and the UK. While you can access the online town downloads on the PSN store via the game itself, you cannot access any White Knight Chronicals content directly from the store itself, and there is no way to get the character re-design token.

I really like the game, but the game has some major balancing issues. After beating the game my brother and I went and played online we are way too high of levels. We just walk through enemies, and even boss right take only few minutes. We stopped playing once we got to GR7 and have not played for a few weeks now, because it was so boring. Online and single player leveling should have been separate.

+ craiglaurence on March 9th, 2010 at 2:33 pm said:

Hi. Thanks for the new quests. I have a couple suggestions/requests:
1) please tell us the full week in advance which quests are to be released and which are perm or temp.
2) please tell us the GR req of all the quests when announced.
3) please tell us which unique items may be gained within each quest especially the temp quests. the biggest source of griping online is people who can’t get certain items to do enhancements and don’t know when they will. you took the first big step to answering their complaints.
thanks again.

Will the temporary quests, when June has come, make a comeback, or once the two weeks limit gone, we will never be able to see them again ?

I’d love to play ALL the quests in the game, even more for the rewards (weapons, etc), but I’m not sure, since I’m starting my internship soon, that I’ll be able to spend a long time in front of my console…

Thanks !

I bought the game and i must say ive been a bit disappointed, its an ok game but not great. I hope you correct what have to be corrected in WKC 2 because now the game is a bit boring.
First you end up using always the same attack or almost because it dosnt cost any AP then you use the same combo you have made over and over.
Secondly, its takes way too much time to do anything in this game like collecting items to get a weapon that is not really useful even if its stronger or upgrading things. It can take an eternity, i have nothing against this but when you have to do the same things 10000 times to be able to do something, it gets repetitive.
The online quests are a nice additions its fun but when you have to do them 50 times each and their are all similar in a way, you end up closing your eyes and just press X.
Shorten the video when you transform yourself into the white knight, first time is nice 2nd time still nice 3rd its ok ive seen it then it gets frustrating.

36

+ Berae on March 9th, 2010 at 3:39 pm said:

oh and the end could have been better even if its a trilogy, you stay with a bad taste when you know its the end and it is how it ends.

Thats about it for what i can think of right now, im not saying its a bad game but it could have been way better, it is just an ordinary game even if i liked some of the little twists in the story and the online mode, the rest didnt ended up as good as what i could have hope.

37

+ Berae on March 9th, 2010 at 3:48 pm said:

and to finish i forgot to talk about Georama, its a very nice idea and its fun trying to recruit people to work in your town and find new items and such but it needs improvements, like maybe when your workers find items and then you decided to switch workers for a bit then you stay with the items you found already. It needs to be progressive, thats my opinion by the way lol. Items are too expensive too, people are not buying in other stores because its too pricey.
Including real money in the game was a really bad idea, people who pays can have access to items that others cant access or must spend money to have them faster. I dont mind paying for new things but this…
Trophies are a bit ridiculous too, it reminds me of socom confrontation in a way.

Thats about it now. Thanks for reading

Hi Christian, you were involved with White Knight Chronicle’s localisation, right? I just wanted to say that I would like the option of having Japanese audio in White Knight Chronicles 2 whenever it comes out. A lot of people prefer hearing it in its original language particularly when there were lip-synching issues in the first game.

Aside from that I think it’s great that the multiplayer component is being supported for free after release. Keep up the good work!

I’m GR9, lvl 50, rebirthed once and have the Queen setup. So I decide to take a break when FFXIII launches and what happens? You try to force me back on and take me away from FFXIII a mere 2 days after it’s launch? And by force, I mean force! “Come play these quests kids or after two weeks they disappear forever!” WTF NO! Let me play FFXIII! I should sell my copy of WKC because of this sh!t they’re pulling. You dropped the ball on the timing and most likely did it on purpose!
