Wakeboarding HD Coming to PSN March 25

Scott Hyman's Avatar + Posted by Scott Hyman on Mar 15, 2010 // VP of Publishing, Creat Studios

Hey PlayStation junkies! I’m back yet again to announce our latest and greatest title for PlayStation Network. We’ve been working hard on this one for a while, and everyone here is very excited to finally announce our newest action platformer, Wakeboarding HD!

Do you like fast-paced arcade games? Do you like wacky, over-the-top tricks and stunts? Do you like crazy, high-speed racing and obstacle courses? Do you like beautiful, serene, tropical settings? Do you like wreaking havoc and chaos in beautiful, serene, tropical settings? (If you answer no to all of these… what are you doing here, anyway?) If so, then Wakeboarding HD is just the game you’ve been waiting for.

And you won’t need to wait much longer. Wakeboarding HD will be available on the PlayStation Network on March 25 in North America for $14.99.

Throw back to the non-stop action from the best of 90s arcades, while embracing the highly realistic killer waves that only the might of the PlayStation 3 can bring you. Wakeboarding HD drops players into 20 top-velocity, water-filled levels to maneuver through tracks, perform high-flying tricks, collect bonuses and avoid dangers from exploding mines to bloodthirsty sharks. (Seriously… sharks!) Show your skills and transform the South Pacific paradise resort into an action-packed extreme playground.

Jump onto docks and over boats, balance on rails and waves, and launch over buildings and landmarks. Flip, grab, roll, and spin as you hurl across the water and through the air. Smash through billboards and boats, splash the skimpily clad tourists. Race against your buddy in any mission with side-by-side split screen action.

Sound cool? Don’t just take our word for it. Check out what the trusty folks from TheSixthAxis.com had to say about Wakeboarding HD. We’re confident that you’ll enjoy the insanity as much as they did.

As always, a big…no, HUGE thank you to all of our fans and customers! We love what we do, and we can’t do it without you all. Please let us know what you think of Wakeboarding HD, and what else you would like to see from TikGames/Creat Studios. Enjoy!

Thanks, jelly_bean. We’re thrilled that you enjoyed Interpol.

The local split-screen 2-player mode makes a great time with buddies on the couch. Please let us know what you think when you play.

1. what’s the native resolution? 1080p? 720p w/MSAA?

2. who did the music?

3. are the sound assets 24-bit and/or losslessly compressed?

My husband and I loved Magic Ball, Cuboid, and Mushroom Wars. We’ve even bought all the DLC available for each of those titles.

If it’s 1080p with 24-bit audio, I’ll buy it immediately. Otherwise, I’ll need to wait for a demo.

keep up the good work!

Looks pretty cool, reminds me of Wave Race. Not sure if I’d buy it at $15, depends on the length and features.

Looks fun! but with FF13 (which suck btw but i want to finish it anyway)and god of war 3 its tough to get another game for now. I love the games you guys are making tho, so i might buy it a little later.

Here is something i would like, a suggestion.. A new interpol game with a full screen picture 1080p and a bit more difficult, that would be awesome.

Thanks! I haven’t had any reason to buy DLC for a couple of months now. I have $150 in my wallet, but nothing worth buying for a while until now. Looks like great fun for everyone in this house. Hope you have a great release!

If you could make snow that looks as good as that water…

a mountain snowboarding game would be wow LOL

anyhow, I think it should have Motion controller implemented as an extra, SIXAXIS as a 2nd controller option would be great. Will it ever get PS MOVE support?

@ Scott Hyman
Can you replace Grace at the playstation store update blog? I think your reply more in one blog than her in all of her blog.

By the way, the game looks cool, but i’m on a low budget right now (I can’t even play FFXIII or GoW3 when it will release :( )

Mr. Hyman, I’m quite impressed. Capcom (and John D) may be unrivaled in their blog-breaking comment contests, but you seem to have a contest of your own going on, and I do believe you win. =)

While we’re on the subject of “impressed”, I find those graphics quite impressive as well (not only as a PSN game, but as a game period) . You guys really do great work, and I intend to continue supporting that great work.

Seeing how good this looks, I bet you’d make an awesome snowboarding game…. hint….hint……

…hint.

DO WE HAVE TO BUY IT? AND WOULD IT BE WORTH IT?

We really do love our customers, but we don’t give our games away.

So, yes, you have to buy it. I don’t mean that in the sense that if you wish to play the game that you must purchase it. I mean it in the sense that, you, YoungSlider, are now morally and ethically obligated to purchase the game. And the dozens of other gamers on this thread are witnesses. If you don’t buy it, they will all remind you of how you disappointed them.

Okay, I’m kidding. But, yes, it would be worth it.

Instant purchase I miss playing fun arcade like games such as this! Also the fact that there are 80 dev replies shows what a killer company this is and it supports the customers views!

Sweet! PSN titles look much better then last year! Keep up the good work on these PSN only games! We need more of them! I hope we get some hardcore PSN titles soon, we need something to compete with Shadow Complex, or Trails HD!

The water is absolutely phenomenal. Water is my favorite element, so seeing it so pretty in games makes me happy. :3

I’m running out of space on my harddrive though, so I’m not sure I’ll be getting this. D:

160 just isn’t enough!

Seems like Tik and Creat are inspired by great games, which is a good thing. WaveRace64, and now Marble Madness have been drawn for next-gen inspiration.

Game looks very cool to say the least.

No offense mate but not buying this for 15 dollars. If this was a mini game in Home i might pay 7 dollars for the Home space, but otherwise someone tell me when the game flops and goes on sale for 5 dollars cause I’m probably not picking it up for any more than that. Does not look like there’s enough content to get me to go back to the game for that price.

Looks like an HD version of Waverace like someone else said. Looks beautiful, I think I’ll pick it up tonight along with the new Zen Pinball table.

I heard the Trophies in this game are super hard. This makes it much less appealing.

this game honestly look horrible, if you take a look at shaun murrays wakeboaridng unleased for ps2 that is a real game. i mean this isnt even realistic at all and people are still going to buy it, it really pisses me off. but i can tell you if you want to make a good game make a realistic bmx or snowboard game, that is how you will get lots of money and happy buyers.
