The Tester – Episode 5 Available Today

62 5

This week’s episode is called “Buzz In or Buzz Off.” The remaining 6 (only 6!) gamers take on a BUZZ!-themed quiz challenge testing their mastery of all things PlayStation. It really heats up when SCEA’s Director of First Party Quality Assurance, Jeff Wilkerson, joins the panel this week to evaluate who might have what it takes to work on one of his QA teams. There’s no place to hide in this episode and somebody is bound to crack under the pressure.

This knowledge challenge is anything but trivial. Who’s got the answers? Who has no clue?

Find out in Episode 5 and witness every twitch, lip quiver, high-five and blank stare to see who goes on and who goes home.

The Tester is available in both Standard and High Definition formats from PlayStation Store and also showing in PlayStation Home – Theater 8, where another free cast T-shirt will be rewarded. (This week, it’s a “Luge” shirt.) ‘The Tester’ commemorative items are also available in the Theater and Central Plaza kiosks.

And, also running through this weekend, you can catch up on the first half of the season during a special ‘The Tester’ Marathon of the first 4 episodes playing back-to-back in a separate theater through Sunday, March 21.

Thanks again for downloading and watching the series. Enjoy Episode 5 (of only 8)!

  • I’m sorry but this show is an absolute DISASTER!
I stopped watching after the 2nd episode when it got incredibly boring. There’s not even the slightest parralel imagination with the gaming industry whatsoever. I would have at least expected to see the challengers fight each other off in…well, in a video game. I mean isnt that was this dream job is all about? Playing games?

  • i like this show and any one who has a problem just dont watch it duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Gi Gi aka *star* is only being kept cuz she was on a game show anybody ever wath the next ultimate gamer on syfy she was on it there and lost so I think it will come down to her and cyrus

  • Star is such an ass player. Why the hell BigD got kicked instead of her? Shame on Sony. Actually, I already noticed in the beginning that this “SHOW” is very BIASED and UNFAIR, and the more episodes there’re, the more you realize how fartyass the people working in Sony Playstation ARE. You don’t pick someone because he “looks” like a better gamer/tester/whatever.

  • @53

Yeah she was on WCG Ultimate Gamer which overall I thought was a great series. I really hope that she doesn’t become a tester though, especially for Sony. I mean REALLY?!?!?!?! You don’t even know when the PS3 was released?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Whether or not you knew Brent Gocke’s position title doesn’t sum up to you not knowing the year the PS3 came out. Hmmm, I wonder why she doesn’t know that? Is it because she probably never owned or played the PS3 until hearing about casting calls for the Tester??? I’m sorry, but I don’t want an avid XBox360 gamer working for Sony just because she wants, oops sorry, needs this job. She reminds me of Goof “needing” the job rather than “wanting” the job. Star can support her daughter with some other job. To me, it doesn’t really seem like she could live up to “Sony Standards.”

  • Yeah , i like this show, i think on the next episode.. episode 6 star might get eliminated, but i think cyrus or doc might win.

  • @55
U r so right thats all they played in the WCG was the X box not the PS3 I like the show but hated them 4 that and I agree with u about her needing the job GTR hero please she may be ranked there but what else could shr do not much and wasnt the PS3 un 07

  • Huge fan of the show. And i want to know when thee next tester position is open. I also got the Game Over Luge shirt on ps home. Its awesome

  • its rigged star has been the crappiest person every challenge. Why would they ask her guitar hero questions knowing thats the only game she plays! she missed ALL the questions beside th GH one! She didnt even know ole boys title! Her finger nails are all cruddy, and she don’t know anything about PS3! WHY IS SHE STILL THERE SONY? MARK MY WORDS MY FELLOW PS3 PLAYERS WATCH STAR WIN. She should of been gone round 2-3-4 and 5.

  • Star, go home honey. Get a life, sort your face out and a get a real job!!!

  • I love the tester I watch it with my girl. I think it is a great idea- the show is really entertaining. I don’t like Doc too much though; that whole alliance thing was pointless in a show like this. I can’t wait for the next show (paint balling). I can’t believe the three “alliance” (sic)(joke!) members throw Star under the bus. I agree that she has had a lot of chances but ganging up on her is wrong. My personal favorite Big D left last week :( Now it is all up for grabs. Finally, I love the show and hope for more similar shows in the future! Thanks

  • Wow you’re all right. I mean the fact that Star can’t shoot light pink paintballs at a target that is white, can’t name EVERYTHING about sony (oh hey did you know that there were about 5-6 other questions that weren’t aired that the competitors couldn’t answer during the quiz?) and the fact that she can’t hit pins while running around in a giant ball while blindfolded hitting pins TOTALLY means she’d be a [DELETED] tester for sony.

I mean the fact that she was a tester already for 2 years for a company working on games for the PS2 and PS3 TOTALLY has nothing to do with the fact why she was chosen for the show and we all know if you aren’t a master LARPer you are NOT what sony is looking for. Good job guys, you’ve basically said that these “tests” are what makes a good tester and not actual gaming skill or prior testing experience. You call the show stupid but are basically saying that these “tests” ARE the guidelines that should be set for hiring a new tester. LMAO
