Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Has Arrived for PlayStation 3!

242 0

We are proud to announce that the highly-anticipated, long-awaited release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City (including both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) for PlayStation 3 – is here. We know PlayStation fans have been anxiously waiting for this release, and we sincerely appreciate all of your patience and support over the past year as we worked to get this game to you as soon as we possibly could.

As most of you may know, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is two complete game experiences as episodes set in Liberty City: The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Both games are included on one disc, and do not require a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV to play (though if you do own GTAIV, you can also purchase and download the episodes digitally via the PlayStation Network).

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll find in Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City:

  • New missions and storylines
  • New weapons, including a grenade launcher, sawed-off shotgun, and sticky bombs
  • Enhanced physics for motorcycles, as well as new vehicles (yes, including a tank)
  • New radio, internet, and television content
  • New multiplayer modes and locations
  • Full PSN Trophy support

  • sort of reminds me of the monteal screw job” …. from the WWF DAYS ” ROCKSTAR YOU SHOULD BE VERY ASHAMED OF YOUR SELF” LOST ME AS A LOYAL FAN”

  • @201

Rockstar didn’t screw anyone. Microsoft knew this day was coming. It had to be timed exclusivity all along.

Microsoft loves their secretly timed exclusives. Just look at Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden II, the Fallout 3 DLC, and the Modern Warfare 2 DLC.

This is also why Rockstar and Microsoft never flatout denied that it would EVER come to PS3. They have always said “It is exclusive to Xbox 360”, which technically doesn’t rule out a PS3 version in the future seeing as how it only addresses the situation at the time of the statement.

  • Too many crybabies, you 10 year old kids should grateful that GTA IV even got ANY DLC for the PS3. You kids can keep on crying and whining like stupid little fanboys, I’ll be playing EFLC. :)

  • Bought it on disc for the Vice City Radio station for $35 on amazon.

  • Can’t wait to get this from gamefly. Its next in my GameQ, but it seems that it went from available now to low availability in just one day… should’ve sent back band hero sooner i guess.

  • Guys, just a dumb question.

I cant play the DLC. I downloaded The Lost and the Damned, the install was sucesseful but I cant play the DLC.
When I start the game, none option to play the expansion apear. I tried to start a new GTA IV game but still the same problem, none option apear. I redownloaded the expansion, instaled again, unsucesseful. Anyone can help me?
    Cheers

  • You people complaining are unbelievable. It seems like most of you forgot that Rockstar is a business, not some charity to make you happier. They got paid good money to keep it exclusive, and they got money from the 360 sales. Now they are getting even more money from the PS3 sales. If you ask me, this was a smart move by Rockstar, and I congratulate them for their success.

I don’t see how PS3 owners got “screwed over.” Rockstar is not obligated to sell anything to us, therefore they can do whatever they want with their products.

  • I completely agree with tgordon2191 but would like to add that. Stop complaining about the price. Either buy it or don’t and shut up.

    Supply and Demand people.

  • To allanphantoms,

What region is your GTA4 disk. It must be the same region as your dlc. Im thinking you don’t own the US copy…?

  • kichiku-gunso

Its a region 2, Asian version I think, but in english.

I forgot this point, do you know if have some way to play the dlc by this disc?

  • allanphantoms

The only way you can play the US DLC for this game is if you own the US version of the disk.

You will need to either by the US version of GTA4 or buy the disk copy of this game. If you want to buy the disk copy I recomment PlayAsia.com. They are really good. I live in Japan and use them all the time to get US copies.

  • @MrBeatDown
    Thank you!

  • a little late Rockstar. I have a ps3 and 360 but i only like playing GTA on the PS3 controller. I would’ve bought this on PS3 a year ago but not now. Maybe when it drops to $10…

  • kichiku-gunso

Thanx a lot dude, I live in Brazil and here is easy to find a US copy. I’ll try to exchange mine with someone that don’t care for DLCs.

  • guys how do i get the game it says i have to download??

  • At least we get free online and don’t have to pay like u do on xbox!!

  • If Rockstar is expecting praise and gratitude from me for giving us the DLC a year late at a more expensive asking price, they had better look elsewhere. I am sick to death of receiving sub-standard and heavily delayed content from numerous developers simply for preferencing the PlayStation3 as my console of choice, and then to throw in absolute rubbish like; “we worked to get this game to you as soon as we possibly could”, just adds insult to injury as far as I’m concerned. I think I speak for the PlayStation community at large when I voice these opinions, so I’ll finish by saying to YOU, Rockstar Games, that YOUR greed has cost you MY money, in that I will never buy either of the two Episodes from Liberty City OR Red Dead Redemption, two games I was very much looking forward to but have no choice but to ignore now, because if I go on as normal then screw-overs like this will do nothing but continue

  • @ Dj_Majestic_PHAT

that sucks for u bro u payed 4o something bucks for two tony downloads off the psn man u could’ve just bought the full game on disc at a store but all i gotta say is epic fail for u and this game is amazing i definitely recommend this game for all gta fans and buy this game on disc it’s a better deal

  • can i download the game on the PSN store and play it without having GTA 4?

  • Meh. I know this is a problem for a lot of you, but I look at it as “Ha ha! Yet another 360 exclusive lost!” Though, I don’t really play or even like GTA so I suppose my position’s a bit different. I will agree that the price is ridiculous, all things considered.

  • For those who are feeling miffed, but still want the game, I would like to point out that that multiplayer event is the perfect time to snipe off the devs…

  • I’ll admit, I don’t personally like you guys at Rockstar for taking down my GTA4 vids on youtube due to copyright infringement, even though it was all just gameplay. And I especially can’t stand you for your editing of Manhunt 2, as the beta beat the crap out of the final game.

BUT, you do need to realize I still buy your games as they are fun games to play, and I still support your company as a whole. The GTA games and Manhunt games are top notch in fun. So I guess I will always buy your games. Bought this yesterday morning and loving it right now. You guys just need to learn to ease up on the youtube vids people create, and in the future when making Manhunt 3, if you get pressured to edit the game to death, then just release it as AO on the PC. That would have saved Manhunt 2 from being butchered to death.

  • Jeronimo Barrera, Thanks for linking to PS3Trophies.com, you and Rockstar rock!

  • Well if it wasn’t for the downgrade required by the last firmware “update”, I would probably download the expansions. But since that would remove a critical system FEATURE, I will no longer have a full collection of grand theft auto, regardless of how much I love the series.
You want me to blow money, reinstate the FULL capabilities I payer for!!

  • Rockstar is a corporation made up of lies. I remember when Liberty City and Vice City Stories came out only for psp. Rockstar claimed they have no intention to release the game for the PS2. What a month or two later PS2 received it.

Sorry but I dont support a company that lies to its customers. If it was not for the Playstation fans chances are Rockstar wont be here today, yet this is how they treat us.

  • Very expensive for me to buy.Is there a bundle on sale in stores?

  • Dear rockstar

on behalf of rockstar i would like to announce that abomination 806 talk so much crap about waiting to buy your game when it goes down to 7.99 but for some reason he happen to buy it at gamestop for 40.00 plus tax so rockstar continue the good work hope to see a new grand thieft soon thank you.

  • ok ok, who gives a damn about a 20 add on. most of u people are right, they waited way to long on this release and its killing them. i have heavy rain and im so busy with it idk if i will play gta4 anytime soon. im gonna buy battlefield bad company 2 this weekend and cant wait for red remdeption. so mayb next time yall wont wait so damn long……….

  • Im Gettin EFLC Today! Cant Wait!

  • Wow, so much hate. It seems nobody wants to buy this game because it was released on 360 first. It will suck if GTA doesn’t sell well on PS3 anymore, it’ll make rockstar think they don’t need to make games for the PS3 anymore. I, for one, am going to download both episodes to show my support.

  • Are you going to handle the Red Dead DLC the same as GTA?

  • Awesome, the DLCs are finally here; …but $20 an episode… I don’t think so, not for old content other console owners had for around a year. Maybe when they go on sale, hint hint.

  • Cant play Ballad of gay tony. Downloaded it twice from the PS store. Nothing happens it boots up to Niko’s story.

  • hey ppl can anyone tell me how to open the episodes or what i have 2 do to access them from gta4 cause i’ve downloaded them and can’t seem to find them

  • @truegooner4eva
Go to “New Game” in the pause menu and start the episodes from there, smarty pants.

  • i have tried that but the it goes back to the main gta 4 game

  • can it be due to the fact i have an american gta4 game but a UK version ps3 can someone help plz

  • WOW This is so good!!!
Tanks , new radio , internet , and television content!
Including new multiplayer areas and mode.I am getting this soon on the disc

  • u know gta is it a full game on playstation store ?

  • I downloaded the GTA 4 Liberty City. I have installed it 10 times. It shows up in Games Utitility but it doesn’t have an icon under Games. It cost me 25 dollars and I can’t find it anywhere!!! What have I done wrong?

  • I booted up my GTA 4 and paused it and went to NEW Game but still went to the Cousins Bellic. This is poor poor service from PlayStation. I should have bought an Xbox.

  • I understand were most people are coming from. Either it’s loyalty issue the fact that XBOX got it first i get this. But that won’t hold me back from getting it. The biggest issue for me is the effing price. I get their is a profit that needs to be made now that it’s out for the PS3. But 40 bones is crazy for a year old game. I got no problems with paying some cash for video games cause i realize how much goes into making them. But to throw a outdated game out there with the price tag of almost a new game. I’ll be waiting or just forget about it.
