When it was released last December, PixelJunk Shooter received plaudits for its old school shooting gameplay coupled with modern elemental physics. Also, it’s just plain fun.
As the first PixelJunk game with a story, it’s also the first PixelJunk game with a sequel (as opposed to an “Encore”). Here are producers Deb Mars and Matt Morton with more on what Shooter 2 will bring. HINT: fan-requested feature addressed.

I LOVED Shooter 1. It was just soo short, by the end of it, I felt kind of ripped off. Even for a cheaper game. If they said that this was maybe twice as long, then I might consider it.

can you please do us, gt fans, a favor: if you see kazunori yamauchi there in e3, ask him whether all cars n gt5 will have cockpit view. man, gtplanet and other blogs are going crazy because everyone believes that the standard cars will not have cockpit view. i know gt5 will be launched in 138 days but i just want to end that debate right now.
oh yeah, i bought PixelJunk Shooter 1 day one. if it’s made by q-games, it’s an automactic buy. same with PJ:S2.
Hrmm… i’ve been thinking and i cannot think of anything that could be added to the pixeljunk series that Everyone has requested. hmm. this is a problem, i gues i will just have to wait for them to announce it.

Anything Pixeljunk is a day one purchase for my household. Shooter was a bit short, but we still enjoyed it immensely. I’ve burned out on it myself, but my four year old still plays it often (PJ does such a great job of keeping the games open to different skill levels).
My only worry is that you’ll don’t something rash like dropping local multiplayer in order to add internet play.

Can’t wait to play this one. I loved the first one, especially the lava. It kinda reminds me of the orange whip fountain drinks that I used to get from the bowling alley. I think that’s what they call it. Every time I play Shooter, I crave that stuff. That’s not the (only) reason why I like the game though, lol.

I am so excited, but I paid $15 for the first one with only 3 levels… if I am going to pay another $15, there better be more than 3 levels! It was a great game, but the lack of replayability just makes me regret buying it. Online better be awesome!

i have the first game and i love it i will be buying the second one .
What a great game! It will be in my download queue on day one (or before if there is a beta).
I hope this one is a bit longer; it took my husband and I 6 months to play through each Eden and Monsters to get all the trophies (including their respective Encore DLC). Shooter took us only 2 weeks, and was kind of a let down from that perspective.
Another thing I hope they improve is the music. We really like what we could hear of the music, but it was so quiet even when configured for maximum volume. Audio quality has always been an issue in PixelJunk releases, so maybe they’ll finally take advantage of the PS3’s audio capabilities with this release.

Shooter was my favorite pixeljunk game.. and one of my favorite games PERIOD.
That Shooter 2 is already on the horizon just makes me so thrilled!
I hope it will be significantly longer than the first one.. and have more things to do. It sounds like that will be the case, and I couldn’t be more excited about that.
