So I don’t get it. The email you sent out reads, “Visit the video service on the PlayStation®Store through a registered PlayStation®Network account before 11:59 PM ET on 7/14/10 and receive a download or stream of Charlie’s Angels in Standard Definition at no charge.”
To my mind that means that, upon visiting the store, I can watch the movie. So that’s what I did but the store tried to charge me $10 for the movie.
Now you say here that you’re going to send me an email as a result of my having visited the store? When? Do we have to wait until after the 14th to get the email?

@ 192 yes my ps3 is activated for videos.
when i go to the playstation store there is no tab in the side for the videostore its not there at all. plus for movies, it says that my account cannot access the content.
i can only assume that maybe theres something wrong with how Sony Playstation Store perceives my account.
my internet connection is through aol canada, and because of this i have an US ip. but my account is canadian. im assuming theres a conflict between the 2 so playstation store can recognize my account. hence why i dont have a playstation video store tab, and why i cannot access video content on my account.
in short this sux. and i doubt sony is going to fix this problem just for one customer like me :(

I’m just glad the store is finally available. Props to all those who worked to make this available. Canadian (CRTC) laws aren’t easy to work around with as others might think.

Okay, I’ve given this a fair shot…
– Where’s ABC and CBS? There’s FOX and NBC, but even those don’t have all their shows.
– The movie selection is better, but still weak. I tried looking up some random popular movies series (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc.) and couldn’t find them.
…This doesn’t cut it. I’m not going to bother turning on my PS3 and searching the video store if I know I’m unlikely to find what I’m looking for.

Thanks for the easy access to movies and tv episodes (awesome selection), but you totally missed the ball on pricing.
I can go out to several locations and rent a dvd/blu-ray for $1.99/night (that’s usually as long as I need the movie for). I can go to the movie store here and rent a new release for $5 for 2 nights (dvd/blu-ray same price). Your TV episodes are horribly over priced (why do I want to “own” an individual episode?); it costs more to watch a season of a tv show than it does to go out and buy the dvds.
Sony, you totally missed the ball on this one – drop your pricing and then maybe I’d consider using this new service.

I visited the video store on July 1, and basically every day since then, but have never gotten my free voucher code. Yes, I live in Canada.

Alright for those who haven’t received their voucher, I contacted sony and they said it could take up to two weeks for delivery. Hope that helps!
Sinat, I visited on July 1st (Or 2nd?).. someone said it take 10days, its now July 15th (Visited at least 4 times between 1 and 14) and I still lack the code. So I may have to wait ANOTHER two weeks?

They chose Charlie’s Angels Because Sony owns Columbia pictures, their-for doesn’t have to pay as many royalties to give it away.
Also it is a movie most people like but not enough for them to lose a lot of profit on.
Sony is probably throttling the # of codes outgoing at a time to prevent a backup of data requests at a time.
bonekill, they’ve had 17/18 days to do it. (When I first heard about this, I was told I would get it in TEN (so 7/8 days))
They didn’t start sending them till the 14th, therefore the 24th is ten days.
Also I still think they are limiting the # of codes out at a time.
One of the main reason Sony is giving away a freebie is because it shows the quality of the new service (Therefor more buyers), If an entire nation downloads the SAME 1.3GB file at the same time. Anyone who isn’t using a dial up connection will be far from their max connection speed.
If someone with a 15MB/s connection is downloading at only 50KB/s they will complain and believe the service is horrible.
