  • Infamous free trail for 60 minutes and for free didn’t really impress me. the fact that we have to subscribe to get a free trail of it is like buying the game to try for 60 minutes whats the deal with that

  • @50,
I agree the updates have been bleak lately.
It seems were getting less and less demos and other good stuff.

The thing i look forward to in the updates is pulse.
And as for ps+, well i’m glad i didn’t buy it aswell.
They made it sound awesome, but in reality it’s just a glorified rental service.
With games and content, that has been thrown in the $1 bin.
    Because nobodies buying them.

Bring on the awesomeness that you advertised ps+ to be.
This looks like it was thrown together in a few hours…
It isn’t worth the money not even close.

You should have taken your time and made the service more desirable, before releasing it.

  • i only boght one episode of quore, and it sucked a** dats all i nededd to never ever pay up, and then i just been getting d free ones, and now that i risked been a year long plus subcriber, i dont regreat it one bit, and on top of that i wil noe get free qore every month. suck for u 2 year qore subscribes, sony really nailed u guys lol

  • and the reason that there is no demos or any good stuff is maybe because this wave of game releases suck? kmon guys, wut u want? lbp2 kz3 demos? kmon way too early.

  • Oh and earlier today i receive a message that PlayStation network was going to give each user a promotion code of $50 dollars so each user wouldn’t as there friends for their email and password just to download a game to their PS3 or something, and that is what happened to me today, so Grace is that true or not

(sorry so errors in the last one :p)

Grace, I appreciate your response as to whether free Plus DLC is tied to the subscription or not. But I feel that we’ve been mislead with regard to this. I’ll provide some quotes here:

From the US blog: “Each month there will be dynamic themes, premium avatars and premium game elements/add-ons for you to download and many will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus members only. These are yours to keep forever once you have downloaded them.”
    source: https://blog.playstation.com/2010/06/24/playstation-plus-your-questions-answered/

    source: https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/06/23/playstation-plus-explained

Please address this. 99% of the time I’m the biggest supporter of Sony, PSN, PS3, and PSP but I really feel that this was handled unfairly. I hope my post is at least read if not responded to. Thank you.

  • @shock24i That’s an obvious scam don’t give any email and password! You’re going to be ripped off. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

  • AM NO GRACE, BUT THAT MESSAGE AKA (CHAIN) SMELLS LIKE BULL SHI&& BUDDY.,

  • What in the world is Hamster Ball Unleashed? I don’t think it exists.

  • I am honestly disappointed with PS+ right now and I’m usually not the one to complain smhh. None of the main things I want is installing like WipEoutHD or the Qore episode. what’s going on?!

  • Ahhhh man, kinda wish I hadn’t signed up for PS+ now… I should have known it was going to turn out just like that whole Qore thing w/ a lack of content & it being nothing like they promised… ugh.

  • Thanks Grace

  • after watching the tech demos for the move, i am realizing more and more that i prefer the wii motion control over the move due to the move needing to be bought separate from the ps3, and the price it costs in order to use 2 moves, the camera to track it, and the sub controller (not to mention the games themselves). meanwhile for $200 the wii comes with 2 free games and full motion control. also you keep incorrectly labeling the move as “revolutionary”, while admitting at the same time that motion control “isn’t new to playstation fans”. The reality is that the move is just an EVOLUTION of motion control and of the wand-shaped controller. NOT A REVOLUTION!

  • Where is Lego Harry Potter for my PSP go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The free DLC is your to keep according to this.

  • What time is the Australian PS Store updating?

  • Is there content in PSS that is invisible to me because im not a plus subscriber? if so i’d like to at least see it to know what I could be getting.

  • Excellent, Persona 3 has arrived! Very happy to see it made the launch date alongside the retail release, a breath of fresh air and no mistake.

With Peace Walker, ModNation, FFIX and Hot SHots Tennis, I’ll be happy now until Valkyria II shows up ^^

  • OUCH.

Qore hasn’t been that great lately (both content + freebies), and now you’re giving Qore to Plus Members? :(

I’m happy for the Plus Members, but I feel like I just got kicked while down after being an early(ish) subscriber of Qore. If I subscribe to Plus I have to pay for something that I’m already paying for (Qore).

  • sowoodrockafella

Excited for monkey island 2, is it released in England today?
Are you putting Hogs-of-War on the PSONE list?
Can the Necroscope comics be added to the comics for PSP?
    Thanks

  • Darkstalkers avatars…I wonder what new games will be announced at EVO hmm

  • Hey Grace,

I know you mentioned that the Qore is given out as single episodes, but if I recall there are some items that we were only able to get if you’re an subscriber.

Would we still get those things through Plus if we have subscribed to Plus for a year?

Wouldn’t make much sense if the Plus members were to miss out on some Qore subscription goodies.

  • Only interesting thing at all is the Darkstalkers avatars. Makes you wonder what will be announced soon (hopefully)….

  • Is is true Earthworm Jim HD is coming out July 10th? I read that on Gameloft’s website and thats on a Saturday. So wouldn’t it be July 13th instead?

  • Anyone wanna tell me why the new mw2 content is for certain games only? This is a huge rip off. I know for sure I’m not the only one who can’t download this. As an irate customer I would like an explanation please.

  • What a bunch of half-wits. The MONTH for PS+ started LAST WEEK. Surely ONE isn’t an overly large number. Hell, I figured it was going to update once a month- a weekly basis is actually a better way to do it.

  • I have to ask: what is with all the whining lately? Professionals or not, anyone would get aggravated listening to this kind of chatter 24 hours a day. If I didn’t stop in here on a regular basis, I wouldn’t know there was anything wrong. Seriously, I was fine with the update when I downloaded it, yet in here you’d think they’d given your PS3 herpes. Does the sun EVER shine with you people?

  • Holy crap! CCR en masse on Rock Band! SOLD!!

  • Another week, another reason not to get psn+

Sorry, but nothing you have offered is of interest to me.

  • I have no clue what these kids are whining at. This is a great up date. Huge if you ask me. It must have taken a long time just to write all that stuff in. PSN+ is still way worth the $50 I put in to it, even if there goes 2 months with nothing I wanted it still out weighs the money. The Auto Update is GREAT. But there are some problems. Wipeout HD is missing from the download list of PSN+ and Qore is still a pain to find to download. Considering I paid 3.85 a month for this. its way awesome! Stop whining, you sound like my 9 year old :)

  • it’s funny how in the commercials it’s said you “get free games” with ps+ subscription, when in fact you only get to rent those games and lose them once you stop paying for the subscription.
End result: you get no games.

  • That’s annoying; now we seem to have to pay money (PSN+) in order to take advantage of any price sales… And I was about to finally pick up SSD. PSN+ should be about extra content (freebies and the like) not about a fricking CostCO membership.

  • WOAH! LBP New LVLS! i want i want!

  • Good update, I have one quick question that is rather important to me and I’m sure others in similar situation.

Is Qore included into PS+ yearly subscription?

I had been a Qore subscriber since the service launched and after seeing July Qore issue being free to PS+ user I’m strongly considering joining subscribing to PS+.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @Ry-Tron: 5 games are on sale which don’t require PSN+. PSN+ right now is only $3.33 a month when you work out the price for the 15 months you get (& $4.17 after the 3 free months offer disappears). I saved $5 just off the purchase of SSHD alone. If you can save $5 a month, you’ve gotten your money back from PSN+. Luckily, for me, I saved more with the DLC content I had planned on buying anyway, but got free last week.

@Lt_Sokol: You do get the individual episodes of Qore. If there are any benefits from the yearly membership of Qore, you don’t receive that, but for anyone who buys the individual episodes, it comes free each month for PSN+ members. I downloaded mine last night & am looking forward to watching it. :)

The only other difference is that once you are no longer a member, you can’t access the episodes of Qore you’ve downloaded. Even if you do renew to PSN later on, all previous content like that is available to you again.

  • How come the LBP dlc level kit didnt get trophies with it.
That would make me want it more.

All LBP dlc should get a discount when your a PS+ member. Half off everything.

  • Hi Grace,

Many of us understood that freebie DLC as part of Playstation Plus remained yours beyond your subscription period as mentioned in various places including here on this blog:

“Each month there will be dynamic themes, premium avatars and premium game elements/add-ons for you to download and many will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus members only. These are yours to keep forever once you have downloaded them.”

The free DLC is certainly a significant part of how I’m determining my value from the service, and this sudden shift and/or lack of clarity from the outset is disappointing.

At the very least I’d suggest adding an FAQ to the PS+ page so that all info about this service is clearly stated and available conveniently in one place moving forward. Thanks.

  • hummm can you sony and the staff with the marketing manager and ceo plus president of sony make something happen ? can you guys get and bring the 1st and yes i said first , Mortal Kombat in HD 3D . it be awesome to play the original MK in high def 3D. also bring in one of my all time classic Killer Instinct , since nintedo aint doing nun for KI, ever since KI gold for N64 launch . so yep please bring the classic SNES KI in HD 3D …. and one more remark . have you ever watch Cold Mountain or Transformer on blue ray with hdmi cable hook up to a bravia 3D tv running at 1080p with max perks to disable interference . oooh my god its freaking gorgeous and look better then the screens at E3 like oh my god and hope we get castle crashers 1st for ps+ subscribers so it shut them complainers up.

  • All this complaining over Plus is rediculous, If you own half the PSN Games in store then good for YOU, dont expect to get the other half as by magic or a “redo” on games you own, & as for the “RENTING” argument goes, Live users are forced to “RENT” Online play & X game chat, with out any real handouts, SONY said Plus will evolve & seing how the PS3 has evolved I im exited to see their vision, even if it involves the god awfule X Game chat (swan cell numbers). Oh & the Plus service was made to be in service longer than 1 year. Meaning unless you are compleatly unsatisfied or just too cheap to resubscribe, you DO own the games, & with 1 Full PSN game every month, A forever plan would have their financial advisors quoting sit n sleep commercials.

  • You know, when they said we were going to get free stuff with plus I thought it was going to be good free stuff.

Aren’t you guys games working with Steam now? Maybe some collaboration should be done with them on how to do sales.

  • AND

  • Love Fieldrunners! I’m glad that the free Minis aren’t some of the lesser quality titles. Fieldrunners was a huge game on Iphone, and the Zombie game was a lot of fun for a mini as well.

  • Its Darkstalkers not “Dark Stalkers”

  • The amount of whining and crying going on is simply amazing. First I see people complain all day “Wheres the update!!!” now its “This update sucks!!!” Especially all of the complaining about PS+ personally I have gotten $40 worth of stuff already and paid $50 for the service and its only the second week. I am very happy with this service and I am glad they decided to do this. To all the chronic complainers….if there is nothing that interests you about this update, just drag yourself away from the computer keyboard and get some fresh air…..you probably need it

  • What’s the difference between “Hamsterball” and “Hamster Ball Unleashed”? Is it that one exists and one does not?

  • Nothing for me, but a great update. Demos, content, games, etc.. A PS1 classic would have topped it off.

Also great is that Sony is actually responding to posts.

The bad is your PSP. The device has fallen off the sales radar. It’s dead except in Japan. You do not have a PSP2 ready, so you need to boost sales of the system and software. What do you do? You have a “Marcus” sales campaign. Horrible idea. You could have put the marketing money into lowering the price of the games. When the PSP came out the games were $30. The mix of games and the price interested me in a PSP. Slowly the game became over priced at $40. Now you wonder why sales have gone to almost nill? It’s the outrageous price of new games. I bought Persona, but that is the last game I’m likely to buy due to prices. I’ll wait until they are at a more consumer friendly price. Which could possibly include me not buying it ever.

PS> LOL. At the Sony Defense Force attacking the complainers.

  • Awesome update! Thanks for the unexpected PlayStation Plus goodies! Was a nice surprise today!

  • Nice update.
The amount of jerks and petty complants here are unbelievable.
That said there are a some legit problems and questions.
    1. The PSP is neglected. You need more downloads. More price reductions are needed. (I think we all know that the PSP hardware is about to be updated.)
    2. What is the status on Burn Zombie Burn 2D, Resident Evil for the PSP
    3. More demos are needed. Xbox live has more.
    4. More avatars

Aside from that, good job on supporting LBP for the PSP and PS3 and I love Hot Shots Tennis. It was a great price at $19.99. Also, I can’t wait for Patapon 3.
