PlayStation in NYC: A Call for Questions

233 12

New York, New York, it’s a hell of a town! I’m currently in the Big Apple preparing to attend a special PlayStation media event tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 20th) that will be overflowing with some of the biggest PS3, PSP, and PlayStation Move games of 2010 and 2011. Exciting!

But it begs the question: What would you like to know about these games? I can’t promise I’ll be able to get an answer for every one of your burning questions, but I will have hands-on access to most of the games on display as well as opportunities to ask producers and developers directly. Your questions will inform an upcoming series of blog posts that will drill deeper into each game’s features.

Please leave your questions in the comments. Below, I’ve attached some brief descriptions of each of the games on display and what features will be shown tomorrow in NYC.

  • GT5 questions:
-Physics for races on gravel were not very realistic in the E3 2010 build. Will they be better in the final game?
-Will Polyphony Digital put new car sounds in the final game? They don’t sound realistic at all. (ex: muscle cars, ferrari enzo, 458, 430)
-Will the 800 standard cars have a cockpit view for gameplay, even if it’s a limited or low detailed dashboard?
-Will we be able to use headtracking on ALL vehicles or just on the 200 premium cars?
-Will headtracking work with cockpit view only or also with “bumper” and roof view?
-Will there be a bonnet camera for gameplay? It’s in almost every game out there and for now we only have a roof camera, which is not the best to play…
-Will there really be “over 40 tracks with over 100 layouts” just like Jeff Rubenstein wrote a month ago on the Us Playstation Blog?
-Will GT5 include the D1GP license for cars, pilots and events?
-Will we be able to customize our cars with new parts like front bumpers and spoilers? What about a livery editor?

  • My question is for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood: Is there a time window yet for the exclusive PS3 multiplayer beta for AC:Brotherhood?

  • For GT5….do all cars have interior/cockpit view or is this just for premium cars?

  • When is the new Trine level coming out in the US? It is already out in UK.

  • about gran turismo 5 is there any damages or any other realastic thing on tires ??? please answer me -_-

  • about GT5, will you be able to import cars from GT PSP to GT5?
and as with gt psp will GT5 be able to play music stored on the ps3 HHD?
really cant wait for the game to come out!
P.S will the game be on sale in europe on the 2nd of nov aswell or is that just in america?

    Thanks in advanced!

  • According to http://www.gran-turismo.com, “Standard cars do not support vehicle interior camera views.” Does this mean that the interior view is not available or the interior view is not as detailed as the Premium car’s interior view?

Another question- Does Gran Turismo 5 have a similar career mode like other Gran Turismos?

  • What tracks will be in GT5?

  • Question about Heavy Rain.

Why was the other DLC put on hiatus because of move support? You can patch the move support at anytime. Why hold something back for this?

By the time it comes out (If, since they’re reporting that it may be dropped now) nobody is going to buy the DLC because of how long it took.

  • Regarding Gran Turismo 5 – will there be a weather system with rain? What about Vector Aeromotive, are they in GT5?

  • Re GT5, the recent demo seemed infinitely more difficult than GT5 Prologue in terms of handling the car. I am assuming that is because the demo lacked traction and stability control adjustments found in Prologue. Is there any information about the inclusion of traction and stability control in the final version of GT5? I appreciate the realistic nature of the simulation, but if it’s going to be that difficult to maintain control of the car, it takes a lot of fun out of the game.

  • Will we be able to listen to our own mp3s on the HDD via XMB while racing or will that feature be implimented into the game just like the PSP version…and will it be possible to create private racing teams for online racing…and as for vehicle transfer from GT PSP and GT5P to GT5 will we be able to transfer cash earnings as well?

  • To-jpedd1…I think personally the physics will be a little revised in GT5 but I know what you mean

  • how many online trophies in these titles? I hate taking PS3 games online…

  • Gran Turismo 5:

Will the WRC championship be included in the game?

    Will there be dynamic weather?

Is there an ultimate edition above the special edition?

  • Iceman_Nightmare

Is the standard cars also going to have cockpits like premium cars do? And will you be able to customize your cars with vinyls and body kits?

  • Related to GT5

    Will there be DLC?

When will we see a complete track/car list?

Will there be a Ultimate Edition In the US?

Do standard cars have a cockpit view

Lastly will it support 3 monitors setup

  • Is Gran Turismo 5 going to have like a 1/4 mile challenges/races/testdrives kind of feature?? Because I’ve wanted this since gt3. It would be awesome

  • Not one Question was answered about cockpit view for standard cars. yes or no. That’s all GTplanet and GT5 forums need.

  • My Question: Should GT5 be seriously regarded as a car/racing simulator if certain features seen in most if not all race sims is missing.
i.e tire/engine sounds, dashboard view, dynamic weather.

  • ^^what i mean is a proper, or at least a close representation of true to life sounds^^

  • In an interview with Shuhei Yoshida (http://uk.playstation.com/ps3/news/articles/detail/item285382/Talking-games-with-Shuhei-Yoshida/) The president of SCE Worldwide Studios said that, in Gran Turismo 5, we could go “chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing our own tracks”. Is this true or was this a confusing misinformation?

  • About GT 5:

    1. I really, really, really hope that the a real “Track Editor” will be in the final game. Nothing just like, put some cones on a plain field, or reassemble just some premade paths in a city. I mean an, for Gran Turismo, appropriate track editor, which allows you to build new tracks from zero/scratch.

    2. Will the premium cars have damage only in the kind of loosing parts, or really deforming metal?

    3. For my German friend. When will be the game released in Europe?

Would be great if you can proof that. Thanks a lot, Harry

  • Gran Turismo: Will GT5 have the same soudtrack theme as GT5:Prologue? Refering to brilliant Easy Listening/ Jazz tunes.
    Thanks,
    OnlineGT

  • Gran Turismo 5:

    1. Is there customization? (A livery/vinyl editor?, custom paints?, body kits?, racing modification?, custom rims? etc.)

    2. Custom Music? Can we listen to music from our PS3 hard-drives, or are we forced to listen to the ingame music?

    3. Are Skid Marks going to make it to the final version of the game?

    4. Will there be team racing? Like can a racing team compete in the 24hr Le Mans? Driver Swaps?

    5. Rally: Will there be weather effects? Rain? Snow? Mud? Lightning? Wind? Puddles? Track condition changes? ie. Pebbles, tarmac, dirt, mud, cliffs, forests, sand, & concrete?

Please, atleast ask #1 and #2. #3 would be cool, 4’s possible for an update. 5… Ehh, it’s either already there, or it’s not.

    Good luck @ getting your Q & A’s answered!!!

  • Just realized… The event was yesterday… I posted this 2 days late… :(

  • Hey you’re right.. the event was yesterday..

    Where are our answers!??

  • Heres a question: When will you guys be fixing the issue with the AMERICAN PSYCHO BLURAY not working at all on your system!?

  • Can I please ask two things,

    1) In GT5 will Standard cars have a cockpit view, like we have seen in the demos so far? – i.e. we can see the dashboard, the steering wheel, outside the car, etc…

    2) It’s been a whole week (and a bit) since the event – can we have our answers now please? :)

  • Gran Turismo 5
It is very strange to hear rumors about there not being a cockpit view in 800+ of the 1000+ cars. Its just that one question that is really won’t get out of my mind without n answer. Will there or will there not be a cockpit view in these 800+ cars? Because if there isn’t, then games like Forza 3 will overtake Gran Turismo’s reputation.

  • There will be PORSCHE cars in Gran Turismo 5 this time?

  • GT5 >> Will there be Day/Night changes on EVERY tracks?

  • I have a question about GT5:

Will you guy ever answer a GT5 related question?

    Thanks in advance!
