  • This will be my third and final post to kind of wrap up what I’m trying to say. Some major re-structuring of that Store Team is long long overdue. It might be some of the people on that team do not have the experience, or connections to secure some of the most requested PS1 Classics and other games. If they don’t have the experience or connections, for the sake of a community that deserves better than it’s gotten, it’s simply time to find people who DO have the experience/connections to make this stuff happen and time to find someone who DOES understand good customer service/interaction. The Japanese store puts the US and Europe ones to shame. Completely blows them out of the water. It’s a disgrace and NO reason whatsoever the US/Europe stores cannot be on the same level. People are just getting agitated and frustrated Sony. You ask what we would like to see and it’s just time to swallow hard guys and make a few serious good faith gestures to your community here Sony. Give some people good reasons to spend their extra hard earned money on the store!

  • @203

I agree. We need some nice sports avatars. I’m not a casual… I don’t want no damn pink bunny or something ridiculous.

    @238

Automatic Update Download didn’t work because it was flawed when implemented for us PS+ users. It should have a feature where I can tell it what to download. I don’t want to set it on and then come home to find out I have 40 Fat Princess avatars and 2 demos I have no intention of playing.

  • all these kids that don’t see how motor prix is a true classic. shame so many folks call there being a gamer.

  • Dear sony. for this xmas i wish for , crono cross , legend of dragoon , persite eve , persite eve 2 , suikoden 2 , tomba , breath of fire 3 , breath of fire 4 , marvel vs capcom , gran turismo , gran turismo 2 , mortal kombat , mortal kombat 3 , mortal kombat trilogy , alandra , energize , bust a groove , rival school , star ocean , lunar silver story , need for speed , final fantasy segas , twisted metal segas , street fighter ex , street fighter ex 2 , street fighter alpha 3 , gran thief auto segas . please , eve been a good boy .

  • hate to be another whiner,

but psp go owners have been getting severely neglected for several weeks….

  • @223 you’re joking right? So far, my three favorite games of 2010 are all on PSP: MGS:PW, Hot Shots Tennis and P3P. You can include Eye of Judgment Legends as #4.

  • i like psp games with multiplayer come on sony add some more

and stop making such dumb updates well the lbp is the only good thing around ever anyways

  • @1

Why does the PS Store update need to be put up at a specific time? Why can’t you just check the store Wednesday morning? The update will be there every single time.

Why is it that you can’t do what you are demanding from Sony?

Personally, I’d rather Sony just publish the update when it’s ready, rather than hold off on publishing it until a set time just to satisfy you complainers.

  • Since we’re all complaining; I’ll add two comments:

    (i) Now that we have folders for NeoGeo games on the PSP; could we get an anticipated release date for whatever NeoGeo games get released?

    and

(ii) I do hope there are plans to release the demo that the + users got eventually to the rest of the community. Not begruging that Plus users got a demo, but it would seem that if the point is to sell the game, giving it to the rest of the community say a few weeks after Plus users got it, would significantly open up the game to potentially more sales.

  • I’ve been waiting for Darkstalkers to drop, so that’s an instant purchase – I may pick up Capcom’s collections as well.

To be honest I’m still playing through Peace Walker and Persona 3, so I’m not too bothered by lack of PSP games (for once) since it’s the quiet period for the industry anyway.

That said, now would be the perfect time for Sony to back up the new advertising campaign by stuffing some true classics onto PSN, such as Crisis Core, Pangya Golf (please please please), Star OCean and others. I know some legacy titles are hard to get hold of, but a lot of Go owners would really appreciate the effort – we might even buy some nice new Sony memory cards as we’d need the extra space. You’d like that wouldn’t you Sony? Sell some shiny cards? Make some money? Go on, you know you want to…

    Good Sony…

  • Oh, and I love the PS+ stuff that keeps coming each week. I wasn’t expecting much beyond the PSN game, minis, and PS1 game. I like getting the new avatars and themes each week. Keep ’em coming and I’ll be a happy camper.

  • No BC update emulator patch for ps2 games? great…….

  • I hope some of you noticed that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 dlc is back which is a plus for those that miss it but heard it might be gone again later on.

  • FAT PRINCESS avatars are awesome! Just, why no blue team pack :( I’m not getting red, but would’ve bought blue. And why are the other avatars not in a pack? I want em all but such a rip at 50c each, considering you just use 1 at a time. FEED ME CAKE!

  • i agree with post #44!

  • I´m happy with the update.
It doesn´t cost me any money and I´m over the moon not having payed plus. I´m going to buy Mafia II next month and are going to play that until the next awesome game comes along.
Thank you Sony for not making me feel stupid to not buy plus.

  • @239 – Really? You want to MANUALLY tell the AUTOMATIC updater what to update? That’s a little bit like missing the point, isn’t it? I didn’t turn on automatic updates for that very reason – i don’t want to fill up my HD with a bunch of crap i don’t want every week, so i’m doing it the old fashioned way.

“it’s flawed because it works too well” is a really awesome argument.

  • Please bring Manhunt to the store. That’s the main reason I still have my PS2.

  • As usual, we’ll have to wait for the eu blog to get “some” answers.

  • That … game … is by no means a true ps1 classic …

    What a let down.

  • o.mg this update it’s worst than the last one

  • @Britton1207  …….To think that I might have paid $50 for avatars would be just plain insulting. I have no use for any more avatars. I’ll stick with the one I started with from day one. Now dynamic themes on the other hand are alot more worth it, but what did we get this week….oh yeah, everyone got a dynamic theme for free. Plus members got a static theme. And as for the discounts….everyone is offered the good stuff but nothing special for those of us who spent the extra $50 to recieve exclusive discounted content. . . . . . . As for your “complaining about complainers is fun comment” that really shows your level of maturity. You should be paying respect to those who complain because without them, sony would never know what we like and dislike. . . . . . On the other hand, people who just sit here and complain about complainers are completely worthless to psn and its just a complete waste of decent blog space.

  • @PrizeFighterX6

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

  • I can’t help but think back to the very public comments made about how “PSN would never be a pay service…” and reflect on how they dogged the other pay service because “who in their right mind would want to pay for something that should be free…”

Yet here we are years later and suddenly paying for demos and themes that should have been available freely is suddenly the “right” way to do things. I just wish Sony would drop the pride and admit that the other service got it right and follow their lead (since they can’t update their paid service in a timely manner…) at least then we might see some worth in spitting out $50 a year.

BTW was I mistaken in thinking there was going to be a FREE 3 month trial of PSN+ to allow doubters to see if they wished to jump on board? What happened to that? I mean its ok to mock the other systems advance in your E3 speeches (so professional sony!) but you can’t even get your own playground in order? Shameful.

  • Yeah lets all [DELETED] and moan, because that is what gets results. If you don’t like something that sony does or doesn’t offer, its your choice to go with the flow or build a bridge and get over it.

  • As a PSN+ subscriber, I have gotten about $10 worth of content, in the form of discounts or freebies of content I would have purchased anyways. Being only 1 month into my current 15 month subscription…thats not bad at all.

The primary thing I’m enjoying about PSN+ is something that they did not say was going to happen initially, but glade it has been the decided method.

Originally Jacky-T stated at E3 that the content would be monthly, which is why people complained about the things like Dynamic themes and Fieldrunners not beings released at launch (Myself included).

But then it was addressed in the blog post that things would “trickle in” over the month…and thats quite nice actually.

Each week new discounts (so far mostly in the previous $800 worth of PSN content I already purchased), but a few things I had considered buying have been thrown into the mix. Making me look forward to each Tuesday more than ever before.

The only thing I could think of that would make it even better would be if people who had already purchased things, avatars as an example, would be able to get a selection of something they did not purchase or already own.

  • to me Motor Toon Grand Prix is a classic. i wonder if my save from my ps1 card would work with it?

  • Wow… I would think that if the complaints actually had a foundation that was solid, Sony would respond. When one shares to be in good company, do you berate the company for not meeting your wants? Do you have the expectations of a child to act as an adult…are you egotistical and completely vain in the importance of yourself?

Did you take the time to think that gradual process is what builds a solid base? Do you feel that everyone involved with the process would be working 24/7 (and for free) to cater to your completely unrealistic “needs”? That by pulling out, you are actually under-minding the ability for the PS+ to evolve with the wants of the masses!

If you head is so far up your bottom, what do you expect to see…roses?

  • Some of you guys need to calm down. You’re blaming Sony for what they post on the PS Store. You forget that most of the demos come from 3rd Party developers. The only things that Sony post that are their own are the themes (which I love), avatars, SOME add-on content, the PS1 Classics, and the minis. Xbox Live is the same way. And stop complaining about Plus! They told us everything that we would get out of it from the very beginning! PS+ gives us a lot considering the fact that we already have a lot of free features that a certain “competitor” doesn’t have.

  • I was not aware that the Playstation Nation has so many ungrateful whiners. Keep up the good work Sony.

  • Motor Toon Grand Prix ‘Playable on PS3 only’

    Is this a Mistake??

Why did you decide to exclude PSP owners from this title? It works just fine on the PSP when downloaded from the Japanese Playstation Store on PSP Systems…are you discontinuing support for your handheld? Let me know so I can move on to some other brand of product please.

  • Hey sony I got one question, Where the Fxxx is Crash Team Racing for PS1 classics? I really want that game badly on the ps store, I beg you sony, make it happen.

  • I don’t normally say very much on this blog, but I feel compelled to this time. Every single week multiple people keep asking for very specific PSone titles that they would like to see on the Playstation store. Not once that I have seen has a Sony Representative given any indication that they have paid attention to these requests. I’m not even demanding that they promptly be carried out… a simple acknowledgment of our requests would be more than welcome, an explanation as to why they haven’t/can’t/won’t been carried out would make me ecstatic! I really don’t see the point of this blog if there is only a feedback to one or two of the first 50 comments. you may as well just scrap the whole thing. Specifically I would like to know if PSone games that have been requested such as Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Dino Crisis 2 are coming out. If the answer is no, i would simply like an explanation so I know I have been heard. From reading the comments it would appear very few people are actually satisfied with the PSone classics, however, there is no lack of suggestions! Give people what they want, rather than old outdated racers (i.e. ‘True classics’).

    Thank you for your consideration

  • @Everyone complaining about plus.
Whats wrong with you guys……what do you want from sony…..if waiting for your ps3 to sexually pleasure you they are still working on that but on the real side of things we are not even a full month into plus and have received alot of content and even exclusive content like the amazing kane & lynch 2 demo.
So give it a chance guys we still have 14 awesome months of playstation plus.
    Peace and much love.

    -Smoke@dellic-

  • @92 (JesseGr)

Wow, nice to see someone with a brain every once in a while.

On topic, I think I might get Magic Orbz (I’m a sucker for brick breakers) but from this week, I already have echochrome so I might just pick up Motor Toon since it’s free and all (or free rental, whatever you want to call it). Not every week will have something for everyone.

On the general storefront side I would, however, like to see more PSOne classics and more PSP support. I’m an INCH away from getting a Go but you have to give it some support… I can’t spend almost as much as for a new PS3 on a piece of hardware that isn’t supported correctly.

  • Another bad week for Psp users. seriously its like you guys dont care, and i understand that Ps3 is your main income, but dont release a handheld system and just totally ignore it let alone release one that can only play games that are release on the Psn.

There are countless games im waiting to play on my psp Go that needs to be release on the Psn (Crisis Core, Naruto Shippuden:Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3, Phantasy Star Portable, etc.) and hundred of TRUE classic ps1 games ya Motor toon is a great game, but its far from being a “Classic”, and most people cant play its since its ps3 only (way to go proofing that you guys are neglecting the psp)

I’ve been waiting since October to play Crisis Core on my psp wants the hold up? If Square has no problem with releasing old games (FFVII,VIII,IX,Tactic) and Dissidia then there should be no problem with crisis core! How about talking to Dev to see why they are holding off games then write in a blog how thing might be a problem, or if everything is ok.

  • For those complaining about Plus updates: take a look at Europe’s ones and shut up. We Europeans are getting nothing good for ours subscriptions, instead you get weekly updates with free dynamic themes, decent sales and free avatars.

  • 2 obvious things going on here: (1) we keep seeing the same 3 trolls posting under multiple accounts insulting anyone who complains about the utter lack of support from sony on the products we pay for. Guys its long past time to give it up. The repetive immaturatiy you keep displaying is beyond tiresome.

    (2) PSN+ is nothing of the sort. if anything its a huge minus. As has been noted many many times its nothing but a dumping ground for lackluster “product”. Themes & avatars are nothing but fluffers, a few discounts on games many of us wont buy, a few rentals of games many of us already own, PS1 games that were rampant failures being flogged as “classics”. The under 3% of the customer base who did make the mistake of buying in are regretting it for very obvious & very genuine reasons.

SONY / SCEA its time to stop treating your customers like garbage. We keep you in business, We pay your salaries its long past time you stopped taking us for granted.

  • What the hell, Sony? Why did Automatic Update download the Kane and Lynch 2 demo without asking me? I understand the odd demo, but a 1.5 GB demo?? Some of us have monthly bandwidth limits. If I wanted this game, I would have downloaded it myself.

  • Why are movies for download at the psn video store still so expensive??? I would actually buy a few hd videos every week for my ps3 if the prices were a bit more competitive, but I can go almost anywhere else and pay less for movies and actually go home with a physical copy that has special features and deleted scenes, cover art, and can easily bring over to friends for movie night. I don’t see a reason to buy movies that cost more, come with less perks, eat up my hard drive space, and are not as convenient to watch on multiple screens.

  • So far, Sony, Playstation Plus doesn’t seem to be worth it. The fact that your alienating those who don’t subscribe by making demos exclusive is just wrong. And a PS1 “Classic” that’s only playable on PS3 doesn’t help, either. Week after week, you guys leave PSP owners out in the cold for no reason whatsoever. You should be rolling in dough with all the games your fanbase are demanding! Looks like you guys should follow your own advise and “Step Your Game Up”.

  • when are you gonna make the psp users happy? i need an answer

    1. Honesty (just read the first paragraph)

    2. REPLIES!!!!!!! (can’t be clearer than that, almost the same amount of comments but with over 50 replies… 50!)

    3. Store update preview (the blog is posted BEFORE the store updates)

    4. No Grace Chen (if she won’t engage with the community, find someone who will)

  • i do agree with the sentiment that Grace needs to engage with the community more. If she could only spend one hour after posting the store update to read and respond to folks, things would be a lot better.

Although i must say, you can look at page 1 of the euro blog and page 1 of this blog and see 2 distinct differences. 1 – More responses which I think is directly proportional to 2 – LESS WHINING. It’s not devoid of whining, by any means, but it’s certainly far less than what our blogs have.

Constructive criticism is great. Letting Grace know what you liked and didn’t like about the update is great. Complaining like immature, entitled brats is NOT ok.

“ZOMG I should have saved $1000 on my $50 investment! Y u not give me MOAR!!” seriously? Complain in month 3..month 9..month 12 when you realize you only downloaded $8 worth of freebies and discounts. It’s WEEK 3 of 52 (or 64). Give it time. I hope Grace isn’t responding to us because she’s tracking people who have Plus vs people who complain about how they are disappointed in Plus. I’m guessing at least SOME of the posts are by people who don’t even have PS+.

  • @prizefighter – i wasn’t necessarily insinuating that only giving us avatars would be worth buying PS+, only that it would pay for our investment. it was an oversimplification, for sure, but the point still stands. It doesn’t take much to justify $50 a year. At least you can cancel PS+ without having to worry about never being able to play MW2 online ever again. That alone makes it better than XBL.

Also, my level of maturity is directly related to the level of maturity of those I am posting to. That was directed to the immature whiners who seem to think that they deserve to be coddled and spoiled by the PS3 gods. I will not “pay my respects” to people who make the PS community look like a bunch of immature children. I guarantee the downloads of the new PS+ and regular store content outnumber the whining, sniveling posts from this blog by 1,000 to 1, if not 10,000 or 100,000 to one. That is how Sony will know what we like and dislike. 250 posts vs 15 millionish PS3 owners does not a majority make, and I’ll not pander to this overly loud minority.

    /off my soapbox

  • although I could give two [DELETED] about kane&lynch I hope that demos are NOT going to become plus exclusive. Not everyone has it and I think it’ll be a while before a lot of people get on board. Oh and shouldn’t the most recent comments appear first and not last?

  • I completely agree with comment #284…

I think they all sit around in a room laughing at out pitiful requests..laughing even harder when they release another turd that nobody wants for the PS1 Classics. I’ve been seeing titles like Vagrant Story, Xenogears, Front Mission 3..etc…being brought up time and time again for what seems like years with ZERO response as to when/where/why or why not…truly awful customer service tactics being employed here…

all us Comm/public relations degree holders looking for work, while the jobs are being filled by people who seem to be unwilling or unable to actually do the job they were hired to do. Communicate with the public..

Sure, you can’t answer them all…far too many..understandable..but when you get the same basic questions about titles OVER AND OVER….well I think the echo effect would cause you to look up and say hey…shouldn’t we say…something to shut them up at least?

Please help make clear to us why the requests are ignored and why the list of wanted games do not get addressed. And please make the answers actually answers and not just diversions…

    Thank you for your time..

  • 290+ comments, complains, & questions with no single reply from SONY. It’s very mature & professional, keep up the good work guys. You have the best customer support in the world, be proud.
