I thought we were supposed to get a good full game each month not a bunch of minis, and a $10 game. I sure hope there is something better coming out next week other than what the “highlights” said. I waited all day to find out what we were getting today and then get slapped in the face with “the man” telling me that my weekly updates would now be bi-weekly updates. Next they will upgrade to monthly updates. I was under the impression that each month would have the same quality of content. Not “here’s some cool stuff your first month” and then “your next month the coolest game you will get is Kahoots!!!” seriously….. Kahoots? I feel like I’m paying a subscription fee to shop the discount bin at Wal-Mart.
I agree with one of the previous comments, though its not entirely relevant, we want the Demon’s Souls dynamic theme.
Also the other Demon’s Souls PSN content that has been left from us (avatars, home stuff etc…)
Been waiting for all of this and its finally taking shape, OUTSTANDING! The Bi-weekly publish is a great idea, thanks for the continued benefits to Plus users, having a discount on Pixel Junk is EXACTLY what I have been complaining about on Twitter. Great Work SCEA!!
Fotget PS+. How adding a lot of GOOD and older PSP titles?
Sony must have made enough money on the Playstation+ program already. Now they can start screwing their customers. We were stupid to have trusted you Sony.
I think you guys should give us the playstation plus content at the beginning of the month or at least give PS+ users something every week so we have something to look forward to. Also I feel like you guys need to make some things more clear. Like give a list of content so ps+ users know what they’re getting (like the EU blog). There needs to be more features that connect playstation players, let us make our photo galleries available for our friends to see ON PS3, let us set the ps3 to give us notifications when our friends get a trophy on a game we’re playing ON PS3, give us expanded user profiles, CROSS GAME CHAT etc. If this free/reduced price content is going to be the “core” of PS+ (which IMO PS+ should be more than that) it needs to be a little more fleshed out so users really are getting their money’s worth. .We’re giving you 50 bucks a year but we have no control over the content you put out. I mean it could be something as simple as a poll that gives us a list of games that we can then vote for. You can point out monetary values but if it’s stuff that people already have or stuff that isn’t compelling the price it’s listed at doesn’t really matter.
Can anybody tell me if the Super Stardust HD add on packs are ALSO 3d enabled? or just the main game?
I’ll buy it if it’s 3D also.

It’s called “constructive criticism” and Sony welcomes it. If this blog was all about praise, there would be no point. Sure there are people who just rant in a childish manner, but I see a lot of people offering good advice to make the service better. Sorry to disappoint, but we aren’t all blind fanboys who praise everything Sony does. Look at the rating for this post and you’ll see a genuine discontent among the users.

This is a shame…. good thing I only got it for 3 months I refuse to pay for the continuation of the service. I enjoyed the weekly ps plus update but now that they changed it to a bi weekly thing I’m leaving this plus thing forgood
So many whiners here today. Do you all expect to pay $50 and receive more than $1000 worth of content after a year? You want Sony to give away all of their best selling PSN games for free and just go belly up?
This service is just one month old and many people have already benefited from it greatly. If you didn’t get much from the first couple of months because you’d already bought many of the items offered by P+, chances are you would get much greater deals in the up coming months. So yeah not every month is YOUR favorite month but it works both ways (i.e. your favorite months are many others’ bad months). So be patient and “take turn” to benefit from this service.
If you complain that it’s unfair because other people get much more from the service than you do, then you’ve totally ignored the fact that this is the common issue of every service out there. I myself didn’t watch TV that much (just 10-20mins a day for news) but I paid $20/month for basic cable while many people really really enjoyed crappy TV programs and didn’t pay more than me. I then discovered that I can get most local news channels in HD for free through an antenna. So I canceled the cable and bought a $20 HDTV antenna instead. So basically, if you think you won’t benefit from P+, then don’t use it.
For those of you who would wait till their favorite games/DLC to appear on PS+ instead of buying them upfront, you’ve totally missed the point of the service. Contents on PSN are on sales very often and you can buy them at lower prices without a PS+ subscription 6 months or so after the release dates. So even if you don’t have PS+, your fav games will be discounted in the future anyway and blaming this service for holding you back is absurd. How about buy your fav contents up front if you can afford em and enjoy the freebies (your less fav games) from PS+ every now and then?

I have never posted a comment here on the blog since the update but I just had to sign on to say something. I’ve owned 3 60GB’s (two yellow-lighted) the first of which was a launch unit and now I have a 320GB slim so 4 PS3s. I’ve been a PlayStation user since PS1 and not only do I have the decade-old PS Underground account linked to my profile to prove it I also work retail. RLS, Underground and SCEA in general have been good to me and I’ve been a loyal PlayStation customer, with all that said reading this blurb was by far the biggest slap in the face in all my years of gaming. Not only did I plunked down my $50 for PS+ on day one but I’ve spent hundreds on the PlayStation Store before Plus was an idea. I own and paid full price for almost all the games that are now “free” for me to play. I don’t think I’m being greedy but I really hope to see more content aside from old games and more freedom for Plus users. We need more for our money, today is my birthday and this was a terrible gift from a company that has been incredibly good to me over the years. I hope the next update is worth it because PlayStation is still the best brand in gaming, IMHO, and I will continue to support you guys at retail and as a customer.
I would like to see a psn name change option sometime soon, if there isn’t alrdy, and I am pretty sure there is not.
So far, I’m not feeling like my plus membership was worthwhile. I purchased it on the assumption that it would be worth something to a hardcore gamer like myself (this is how it was advertised). But so far, it seems to only be good for older games which I already purchased long ago.
I recognize that it is a new service, and it may take some time for it to get into full swing. But as it stands right now, if plus membership only amounts to deals on select older and second rate games (which I will always either already have purchased when they were new or won’t want), I won’t be renewing my membership when it expires.
It would be cool if there were more of these trials (Even 2 a month) I liked the Infamous one and bought the game, wont do that with Red Faction though, its a terrible game IMO. Its about the only thing I like about PS+ .Already turned off the auto update, its moot and the classic/mini selection has lost my interest. SCEA should take a page out of what SCEE is doing, actually making + worthwhle. OR Sony should give us everything they promised at E3, not rolling back those promises.
I gotta be honest here… I was a big Plus supporter when you guys first announced it, called the haters crazy.. the whole 9 yards. But now when I see these old games being offered that most people have already (instead of newer games), I’m really starting to question how great PS+ really is. I mean come on… this thing is supposed to be geared towards hardcore PS3 users, why don’t you guys actually give them something that they can get their money out of?? I’m really starting to think Plus is more of a scam for us heavy PS3 users out there rather than something that is actually worth the 50 bucks… Come on Sony, I know you can do better than this.

Sony has lost its edge miserably. They no longer have a good grip in this industry, Microsoft is buying up the MEANINGFUL EXCLUSIVE online content(like call of duty DLC) while sony offers this second rate disappointment of a service.
I really hope when the ps4 launches We will see a Much improved totally redesigned PSN service with CROSS GAME CHAT and other MEANINGFUL features.

Well unlike all the cry babies here I’m pretty happy with the service. I have downloaded $44 worth of content already, and I don’t really care that they are updating bi-weekly. Sony are still going to realese the same amount of content every month even if they do it bi-weekly.
Wow.. Where does it end? We have people complaining (most companies call that part feedback). Then we have people complain about people complaining. And, people complaining about the people who complain about the complainers. And now someone will complain about me complaining about the people complaining about people complaining… My brain hurts now.

I just wish last month we had some kind of warning about when Wipeout HD would go down, I completely missed out on that. The day it got replaced for Critter Crunch I was about to buy PS Plus. Shame, a $20 deal out the window.
The free stuff is a good incentive but give us some stuff thats far out like some killer apps a new interface ya know something premium. The free people are laughing at us right now.
Everyone complaining about Plus seriously need to shut the hell up, it has only been out for a month and a few days, every single one of you people sing Plus sucks have absolutely no ground at all to say that.
Come back in 3-4 month when the Plus services gets it’s footing.
I am personally very satisfied with Plus and if it stays like last month then i will defiantly renew next year.
This service is incredibly nice for people like me who own all 3 current gen systems (360,wii,ps3) and need ways to save a buck or 2 since buying games for all 3 systems can become pretty expensive, specially this year, with halo reach, LBP2, the next CoD, new MoH and several other high end titles, as well as next year with Twisted Metal and others.
So having Plus to give me a bunch more stuff to play on my PS3 for the price of 1 game.

A little bummed we won’t be getting weekly updates anymore. I originally thought we would only get one update per month, so bi-weekly is alright.

to the folks who havent dl ‘d wipeout hd … if you go to your download list , you will find it there . i thought i missed out as well untill i looked there for something else and found it .and just to provide a little mature feedback about plus , Im glad i only purchased the three month package because resubscribing is looking a little iffy at this point , although it does have some great elements to it , QUORE , free avatars , im afraid that free trials , free dls and discounts of games that nobody wants anymore , really takes away from the “elevate your game ” . although ….. to be fair . ps+ is still new and that is why the jury is still out with me ….
if you add the ability to designate any download as a scheduled download , that may tip the scales, as i have a busy schedule and would like to spend less time downloading and more time playing . been trying to download madden 11 demo , but it wants to take 160 minutes to do so … EEEK !

But if Sony tries selling the full version of Red Faction for $30 which is expected, I will lose a hell of alot of respect for them.
Considering its between $15 and $20 at Gamestop/EB locations, even only $14.99 brand new at Bestbuy/Futureshop, and $9.93 at Walmart.
The digital media costing more than its physical media counterpart is why I along with several friends/family were forced by Sony to abandon our PSPGo systems for the 3000 models.
Digital media should NEVER cost more than the physical. Simple as that.
I feel the same as many people here, that I have wasted my money on this service. I could care less about Cross game chat, but Earthworm Jim came out this week, why not give that to us for free or half off. Sony had amazing connections with developers for the PSone and 2, what happened? Give us some good content by the end of this year or I will not be renewing it. Wipeout was not worth it, and I would have rather have something more current to the PSN. Don’t screw this up Sony, even the Gaming press is skeptical of your delivery….prove them wrong.

Wow. This makes me feel like I’m getting less value for my money now. I actually liked looking forward to what little thing might be discounted or free all through July. I looked forward to Store Update Day (its a holiday) just for the little things I’d get from Playstation Plus. Sometimes I there wouldn’t be anything for me, but thats okay, I felt like I had the potential every week.
Now that potential is cut in half =/
I honestly should have picked up the 3 month trial, so far as a gamer I’m not finding Playstation Plus to be much of a venture until some new features become involved. Something that is ‘always on’ so to speak, not just the potential for savings on games I may have purchased.
I purchased Playstation Plus and have been very disappointed so far from what I have seen Sony do with it. The content on offer is old and us gamers have already purchased most of the stuff they offer. The automatic download function is nice but its not worth the yearly subscription. Personally what I would like to see Sony do with Plus is every week when the PSN Store is updated for that week ALL new games released should have a discount for Plus subscribers for that week. This would give more hard core gamers a reason to buy Plus and for us that have it a reason to keep it! It’s all well and good giving away free Avatars and Themes but what I really want is cheaper PSN Games at release!

Wow thanks sony… i sure feel like i spent all that money for a premium service… that isnt premium AT ALL… way to steal money from your fanbase. i wont be renewing PSN+ and i hope it fails.
I get the sneaking suspicion that the real reasons to have PS+ are going to pop up just before the early purchasers are asked to renew. (The transition from “Coupon Club” to genuine service.) Of course, by that time most of them may very well be so pissed off that they cancel out of spite. Early-adopters being screwed over is nothing new to PlayStation (3) gamers.
Though, the way it’s worked so far is that the updates have been coming every week, thus diminishing the perceived amount that PS+ subscribers have been receiving. By grouping two weeks’ worth of content together, it changes that perception and thus potentially deals with some of the whining.
Kind of bummed about the change to bi-weekly. Even if the free stuff wasn’t great (I’m looking at you, avatars), it was nice to always have something to look forward to on Tuesday.
I would like for them to give PS+ subscribers the option to hide that stupid gold plus sign from the PSN IDs on our friends list. Bi-weekly updates? Really? What a joke. I feel like that kid sitting in the corner with a dunce cap on for buying into this nonsense.

@JustinSoAwesome People have the right to voice their opinion. Just like you said that you’re satisfied with the service (which is your opinion), there are others out there that aren’t. Heck, if people didn’t voice their concerns, we probably would still be stuck with PS3s without In-Game XMB.
Guys if you think you have problems with + you should see EU PSN+, the content is ridiculous. Older games, less content or stuff that is pretty irrelevant.
