PlayStation Plus

Hi everyone, here’s a peek at what’s being offered next week for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Also, moving forward, we’ll be providing these updates on free, exclusive and discounted PlayStation Plus items roughly 2 weeks in advance. So look for another update next Wednesday for the September 21 publish of PlayStation Plus content.

Next week we will have a full game trial for the multiplayer classic, Warhawk. Download the full game trial and take to land and air in an all out war between the Eucadian and Chernovan armies. Also, get an early sneak peek at the newest God of War title, God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Answers will be revealed for the events between God of War and God of War II in Kratos’s newest PSP adventure.

As a friendly reminder, be sure to check out last month’s PlayStation Plus content, including a free copy of Aero Racers (think top-down WipEout) and sales on High Velocity Bowling and WipEout HD Fury DLC, before it gets taken down next Tuesday.

Not a PlayStation Plus member? Our limited time introductory offer is still available. Get three additional bonus months free when you buy a 1-year package for $49.99. You can find all the details here.

Nobody ever said Plus users had access to all betas or that Plus subscribers would ALWAYS get priority over non-subscibers.

Plus subscribers get “priority access to SELECT betas”.

And what’s with the four comments worth of incomprehensible spam?

I have to have a seperate PSN Account for my PSP, because my old PSP broke, so I never got to delete it from my account… So, I can’t use PS+ on both accounts…

=(

To be honest… Playstation Plus was great within the first week or so… but the content offering is pretty weak. For both PS3 AND PSP. Honestly, I have a feeling that a lot of PS+ customers will not subscribe again once their current subscription ends.

I’m on the fence now, and I’m about to fall over, I’m just waiting for Sony to pull me back and give me a cookie or two.

@202

Do you know what the purpose of a beta is? It’s for testing a game’s multiplayer. Sony aren’t going to put out a beta every three months. They are going to put out betas when games are ready to be tested. There was never any guarantee of at least one beta. The wording in the FAQ was quite clear about that…

“Finally, wherever possible we’ll be making sure that members are included in selected demos and beta trials before they go live to everyone else, so you can be the one to tell all your friends about the next big game they ‘must’ get.”

And posting four comments in a row that mainly consists of gibberish is spam. You could have condensed all that into a single post by taking out useless stuff like “UP2006-NPUB30120_00-PS3STORE_EARTHWO-UG01″.

@203
“@ el hoardo obviously u not too smart. Prove to me where sony says SELECT betas , and the comments u think are spam is just showing how much of a gimmick plus is to make u buy stuff old stuff”

“U not too smart.” Oh, the irony. Also, see my response to #202. Oh, and Tretton said “priority invitations to SELECT betas” when Plus was announced at E3. Go watch it if you don’t believe me.

@Blazebrova: The publish schedule for Plus is every second week. The next one will be on Sept 7. Lately, they’ve given a preview in the blog a few days before the publish date of the highlights of the upcoming update and according to this post the preview will now be about 2 weeks in advance.

On “off” weeks, there may be some little bonus for Plus subscribers. So far, this usually means that items that go on sale for regular PSN users may have an additional discount for Plus subscribers.

Hope this helps…

Boring PSN plus update. Bring in the arcade classics (ie Contra, Samurai Shodown etc.) that both the XBOX live and Nintendo Virtual console and I’ll consider being a member of PSN plus. Until then, your PSN and PSN plus store sucks. No wonder both Xbox live and Wii Virtual Console is kicking your ass, Sony. Get with the damn program and stop giving out 3D crap. 2D arcade will always beat 3d (i.e. God of War/Uncharted 2/Infamous) garbage.

What is this. I’m starting to feel betrayed as a PSP owner. I’m out there, in blogs, defending my handhled from, the 3DS will kill the PSP, bloggers everyday. I am out there being called a fanboy on a daily basis, but yet, when the demo for one of the systems biggest game comes out, I have to wait?!

You guys realize, that PSP only owners, can’t even take advantage of PSN+, and why would we want to? Mini’s are too cheap to really care about getting them free, and until you start giving away actual PSP titles for discounted rates, we have no need for +. So why deny us the demo?

LOL. Yeah. Warhawk? Hello? What? I would understand if you let us download the full game for free. But a full game TRIAL!? I think everyone owning a PS3 would have tried ou Warhawk by now if they ever wanted to try it out. I am very confused. How did Warhawk become an “exclusive trial” for plus members? Are you trying to humiliate us? Is it supposed to excite us? After years of being released, it’s becoming a trial for PLUS members? Helloooo…?
And yeah… I thought we were supposed to be getting more stuff with the bi-weekly releases… Have to say- it isn’t looking that way.
I have an Idea! How about a section where you let us Vote on what content we want in the future? You can release a “By popular demand” special every other week instead of having another atrocity like Warhawk happen.

on a side note: I’m loving the free Minis. They are great. Thanks.

this is why ppl say plus sucks so much.why are we getting a game trial for a launch title?whats next week’s,Resistence:FOM?!!to top it all off one of the highlights is a psp game.GOW,hmmm it would be a bvit more appealing if it had something else with it.oh by the way,i just got the demo friday from the official website.so basically we r getting a demo of what 90% of the community already will have.the other 10% dont even care.real class act sony.

This is rediculous. If I had known when I joined plus that all I would be getting is 2 and 3 year old games, old demos for games I’ve already beaten last year, free minis which look like free iphone games and discounts on other older games that nor I or any of my friends care about I would never have gotten plus. I got it the month after wipeout hd was free and I assumed every month would bring value like that, but boy was I mistaken. I’m soooo disapointed with this service and I get more disapointed every week. Not only is the service not improving whatsoever, but Grace and others at Playstation seem to be completely ignoring our questions. When are we getting betas and new demos? When are we getting dynamic themes and newer games? Make.Believe? Make.Me.

New PSN+ user here, hope it worth it. This update is pretty meh through. Already got Warhawk so no point of the trial, but the booster packs are free? Haven’t gotten Broken Mirror or whatever the second pack is called so I might check that out. May try the God of War demo and that really it.

Warhawk 60 minute trial= no developer would allow us to do a 60 minute trial, so we panicked and put a time limit on the already existing warhawk demo so you wouldnt complain that there wasnt a free game trial this month. Watch, next update theyll give plus subscribers resistance fall of man trial. SOOOOOOOO glad i didnt subscribe to this.
