Firstly, to commemorate a very special moment in gaming history, we have a special video celebrating the 15-year anniversary of PlayStation up for you to enjoy in the Theater. It’s been a long time since we started, and I hope you’ll join us in celebrating our “birthday.” As a party favor, each person who checks out the video will get a commemorative ornament, nodding praise to the platform that started it all.

Bomberman fans unite! Visit the new Hudson Gate game space when it is released in PlayStation Home this Thursday, September 9th. Explore the “discs” of this futuristic space and place your bets on the regular Dolphy races, unlock unique rewards, and even pick up Bomberman outfits. Purchase your own Dolphy Room Apartment, where you can raise your very own Dolphy to take part in races. Raise your Dolphy right and you’ll be rewarded as it streaks its way to victory!

Also this week, we have more MAG items including the RAVEN armor now available to further complete your collection. Lockwood’s sweet generosity is definitely not lacking this week either. This week, you’ll find the Lollipop collection of outfits or both male and female, a ton of new furniture and for the ladies, a luxury leather handbag delivering some serious bling in a diamond ring.

Finally, we have a new partnership in the Home Community Theater to announce — GamerIndepth!

GamerIndepth in PlayStation Home

As one of Home’s longest-running fan groups, it seemed only natural to further connect with them. I was able to get a burning question answered by several members of GamerIndepth.

GlassWalls: “I have a question for each of you. You’ve all been supporters of Home for a long time, and now we’re partnering up in the Community Theater. Where do you see the future for both of us heading?”

From Narde15: “Home is such a unique and cutting-edge application that I don’t know how to answer that question. What I can say is that as long as GamerIndepth is around it will keep its ear to the ground and continue to shine the spotlight on everyone making positive noise in PlayStation Home. That’s what we’ve always been about and with the support of the Home Team and the community, we’re not going to limit ourselves.”

From Hippe: “The future looks bright for ALL those that love Home. The future of both Home as an application and the community depends on the bonds we establish with each other. The Home of tomorrow will not be the Home of today. It continues to evolve daily and I hope GamerIndepth can be a part of that evolution every step of the way.”

From homeboy79: “The future of Home looks brighter everyday. The community’s involvement in Home is ultimately key to its success. This is where we come in. I’m confident that together we will continue to provide the highest quality of media and material that is for the community, by the community.”

From YowsahsItsMeesh: “Being an avid Home user soon after open beta was released it has truly been an experience to watch Home evolve into what it has become today….I can definitely see future partnerships such as ours, drawing in more gamers and non-gamers alike, and taking social gaming to an entirely new level.”

There you have it. Go check out their first video playing now in the Home Community Theater.

See you in Home!

  • Hey how about fixing the sloppy controls in home, you know pick dance, and 40-50% of the time you gotta do it again because it didn’t register.

    Thanks!

  • Nice PSOne ornament! Looks good.

    • You all have been asking for one for the longest time–what better time is there than now, the 15th anniversary of PlayStation, to give it to you? I hope you display it in your apartments with pride.

  • awesome cant wait to check out all the new stuff

  • Home has come a long way but it has also done a lot of mistakes… and as someone who was a long time fan and supporter, I’ve stopped visiting Home regularly. Hopefully it will improve in the future so that I decide to return more often but as it is right now, it needs to do something to become a more stable and speedy process before I consider giving it my support again.

    • We’re always improving and evolving the platform, not to mention bringing new content each and every week. With the recent client updates we reduced load times significantly and streamlined the whole experience. If you haven’t been in Home in a while, come on back in!

  • WOW

GI RULES and the PS1 ORNAMENT

What about the handbags from Lochwood?

Any chance we get a update on Irem? :)

  • THIS IS AWESOME GL!!! THANKS MR GLASS DOPE SPIKY HAIR WALLS SIR!!! ^_^ It’s been weeks since i came into home =)

  • I find it cool that you guys are given away PS1’s but why can’t these PS1’s do anything like a mini game or something that other people who come to you’re Home space can play? Why is just an ornament?

  • My Sweet Spot just got a little more sweeterrrr!!!!! This is a great update! I never thought I’d see the Hudson Dolphy in our USA HOME!! SWEEEEET!!! Happy BDay SONY PS!!!!!!! I have no way to express my LUV 4 U!!

  • w00t HOME RULES!!!!!!!!!!!! and

    Glassy

    Me Love you :D

  • Oh I will GW, any plans to offer us the cool PS3 slim ornament available in other regions?

  • Awesome update. It’s great to finally be a part of the Home Community Theater. Look forward to some great shows.

  • Awesome PS1 ornament :D do u think in the future we can get a PS2 and PS3? Is there ant chance of an Irem update like new clothes or 1 of the other 4 spaces we don’t have? we still need the rest of the school uniforms.

  • Thanks for giving us this opportunity! We will do our best to spread AwesomeSauce everywhere we go!

  • Are we going to get that IREM update? Locust_Star said we would, since the August 25th Blog…

    “Locust_Star | August 25th, 2010 at 12:58 pm

There is an update to the Irem Square this week as well!”

Can we please also get the IREM Spelunker Cave? This should have been released before the IREM Beach space and I’m sure many others have waited for the Spelunker Cave since 2009.

  • This is my first time leaving a comment on the Blog…however, I have been following the Blog, and the commentaries, for many months now. I have to say that it is a controversy within itself..at least the commentaries are! LOL! But, I am impressed with this weeks update in HOME…if it really happens. I, as a female, have been disappointed lately in the male dominated updates. But, that said, I also know that the females have had many updates that were just female updates. This update is really, really looking good…and I’m so impressed that I had to comment. We are getting not only a new public space, private space, nice ornament celebrating the anniversary, handbags for the ladies, more MAG costumes for the guys, lollipop outfits AND FURNITURE! Awesome!! * Applauds loudly* Very nice update for a change! On another quick note..I am also aware that JP has some of the most awesome and realistic clothes…I know most of them are IREM related (at least the neatest ones,) and I know IREM is based in JP…but, can’t someone BEG them to SHARE the wealth??? Pleeeeeeese??? If you want to make the girls happy…get us some of the clothes that other countries have..they are sooo HOT!

    • Thanks BoxerLady! This week is definitely a well-rounded content update. I’m so glad you like it. As I mentioned above, IREM stuff is still coming. Stay tuned!

  • whoo hoo…Gamer Indepth! Replay with Doc too
I love the ps one ornament!

  • Can’t find anniversary video in theater? Is it up yet?

  • Sorry GlassWalls but I have been in Home recently. Part of my fun was dressing up my avatars or creating new ones and while loading up spaces is a lot faster than it used to be, the wardrobe’s load times are just plain ridiculous in comparison and totally ruins the experience. Not to mention that Home freezes my PS3 a heck of a lot more than it should (well really, it shouldn’t be freezing it at all), forcing me to always do a hard reset.

I really enjoyed Home but I believe it was around the 1.30 update that things started really going downhill for Home in my opinion. The content updates do seem great but if the actual service itself is not, then there’s really no point in constantly fighting with it to experience what Home has to offer.

  • Glad to know that the lil’ ol’ faithful is being remembered, good and proper. I’ll be sure to pick this one up. Happy 15th, PSone.

  • Please give us “The Hall of Fame” & “hovercrafts”

@Sarno1605: No the video is not up it will be up on Thursday.

  • Thanks! KingOfHearts2007

  • I still have that old grey PSone model too, in working order with my NES, SNES, Genesis, etc… :P

  • I’m going to place my PS1 decoration upside-down just like my real one since thats the only way it can play certain games :p

  • @GlassWalls I think that some in the forum community were looking for a PS3 that functioned as a game launching appliance. And yes like everyone else it will be great to get the grandfather of the PS3 into my apartment space Thursday.

I think what the community would really rallye around is an appliance TV that showed these videos in personal spaces instead of going to the theatre every time, at least make them active in ClubHouses!!!

  • The original Playstation why I have been a supporter since launch in 96″. Why I loved the evolution from CD-Roms to Blu-Ray now I have high hopes it makes it to the top by the end of the year. :)

  • Belated birthday I’d say, the PS1 was released in December 1994.

    • That’s true for Japan, but as for launching here in North America, the PlayStation launched September 9th, 1995 (15 years tomorrow). Happy Birthday!

  • Great stuff! Now if only my PSP Go had made it even to it’s one year anniversary of support from Sony, I would have something to party about.

  • Hey Glass. I’m psyched about the 15 Year Anniversary of the PSX. That new ornament looks sweet. Is there any chance we can get other ornaments like this for the PS2 and PS3?

Hudson looks sweet also. Thanks for the awesome update. Keep up the good work.

  • I’m honored to be apart of the Home Community Theater. Thats all I can say because at the moment … I am speechless. (IKR!? hippe speechless)

  • Huge FAN! Congrats!

  • First, congratulations to GamerIndepth, this is awesome!*grabs bottle champagne* cant wait to see the first show.
Lockwood’s update gonna make many females happy no doubts.
    glassWalls:thanks for this great update.

    • You’re quite welcome.

To everyone–might I suggest you gather some friends for a watching party tomorrow to celebrate GamerIndepth’s launch?

  • breathe HlPPE breathe. You will only survive if you breathe.

Yeah I used to have a PS1 at home but then a teenage child decided that they needed money and hocked it and my PS2 and games. Got back the PS2 but the PS1 was history…

  • It’s funny how GlassWalls completely ignored some of the questions and feedback from the users above from Home fans.

  • PPL here at my work don’t under stand why I’m dancing in my cube! Partay in theater 8 tomorrow at 5PM pst! Homelings, RHO, Elite_Shadow, Homestyle, PSTalent everybody drinks on Narde15!!!!!

  • I like the PlayStation! One of the best systems I ever owned

  • So is there any chance that the American version of Home will ever get the Demon’s Souls costumes that are available on the Japanese version of Home? As a huge fan of the game, I was disappointed to learn that the outfits I want aren’t available to me as I don’t live in Japan.

    • At the moment, there’s no plans to import them, however you never know. The IREM stuff that is already out and the stuff yet to come is proof of that.

  • Nice avatar you have there!
It would be cool if we could use avatars like that in PSN
You got my point ;) (…….HOME-PSN avatar tigh in)

  • Happy B-Day PlayStation! I would just like to say you are the longest running game console IN MY LIFE! I was born in June of 1995, and we got a PSX whenit came out. I have memories (faint, but memories) of sitting by my dad as he played Resident Evil, and my sister as she played Crash Bandicoot. Good times I owe to you! ▲○X□ Rules!

  • OMG GAMER INDEPTH AND PS HOME THIS IS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE! Ever since I was on The Tester and Jersquall and Hippe asked me for an interview I have been hooked on what they and the GI crew have been doing. It’s good to see some community support and I am happy to see GI evolve even more. With more involvement with the community I feel that PlayStation is making milestones in terms of giving the people what they want and in turn the people who love PlayStation will continue to show support for more products in the future. Ah synergy…I LOVE IT!

    -Fame Girl-

  • you can count on that i`ll be there!!(might bring some hamsters ;)lol

  • About time we got this ornament, I’ve waited so long. Coincidentally, I bought the original PS1 off ebay yesterday.

  • So you are saying a PS3 ornament will take another 11 years? J/k

  • Can we PLEASE have back the ability to buffer the entire video in places like the theater instead of streaming everything!? I’m sick of suffering through videos 2 seconds at a time because my connection isn’t fast enough to play through it live! It’s irritating and it wastes bandwidth if the video ends and starts streaming again.

  • How much would a PSX on retail shelves sell for today? I would buy one BRAND NEW!

  • @23 megamixer
That’s funny stuff, good one. I’ve seen that before.

  • Congratulations for the 15th Anniversairy. I hope PlayStation has a few more tricks up its sleeves!

  • I can play my ps1 classics using that ps1?

  • Happy Birthday, Playstation!

I can still remember unboxing my playstation and putting in demo disc 1 that came with it and it had,

    Battle Arena Toshinden
    WipEout
    Novastorm
    Jumping Flash
    Loaded
    ESPN Extreme Games
    And, I can’t remember what else…
    Ahhh, good times…

  • Cool, I had no idea that the PS1 was released on the 9th of September as that is my birthday. I may have to visit home and check out the latest updates. Any word on EA Sports showing some NHL love in Home? There are NFL jerseys and the like, so I was hoping for hockey jerseys to show my BlackHawk pride.

  • Great update, good to see Gamer Indepth in the theater after all this time! :D

Can’t wait for the PSOne ornament. :)
