  • FYI: Along with the Move demos going up and such, if you pop in your copy of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, the update for the Move is available now. It’ll update to version 1.01.

  • I got really excited when I saw “No More Heroes Allowed!” for PSP as I thought it might be some sort of “No More Heroes” PSP spin-off…but I think its just a typo. I believe the intended title is “No Heroes Allowed!” so you may want to fix that.

  • No DJ HERO 2 demo? XBOX got it 2 weeks ago.

  • thank you for the castlevania awesomness!

  • Um, how is this a good PSP update?
If I’m correct, all those games can be bought at retail.
…and UFC 2010 should’ve been up there LAST week. >.>

  • I’ll admit this is a good update, but I question it’s timing with TGS this weekend. Always seems Sony gives a nice update only around expos and/or holidays.
    Loving the sales though!

  • You people that address Grace every week, and expect a response, really crack me up.

  • Wow. Great update – thanks! I don’t usually comment on the blog, but these last few weeks’ updates have been week as far as sale items, and this week really seems to be making up for the recent drought. Now…what to spend my money on…hmm.

  • How long does (some) of this stuff last (stay on the shop ‘channel’)? I want to get a PS3, but I want some of this, but don’t want it gone when I do finally get it.

  • I agree that we need more avatar variety, it’s been a year that Eric announced “Premium Avatars” and how many do we have? About 80 and 99% of them are Street Fighter avatars.

  • Nice update but where’s Sonic Adventure!??

  • Looks great! =D

  • Wow great update I know it can’t be like this every week, but try.

  • Still no NeoGeo and/or PC Engine releases. Oh well, at least the PSP is getting a little more love and attention this week.

  • Am I the only one that can’t find where the MI+MI2 bundle?

  • Some odd behavior in the store:

    1) Some people are having trouble with the Monkey Island Bundle. It showed up in Special Offers for me, but when I added it to my cart, it instantly disappeared from the Special Offers list instead of just adding the blue cart icon (it *did* show up in my cart, though).

    2) Mega Man 9 (the game, not the DLC pack or themes pack) was not in the Special Offers list. I found it by going to Games and looking for it alphabetically and added it to my cart. Then I paid for everything in my cart, leaving me with $0.00 in my wallet. Then I realized I should get the DLC pack which I then bought without adding more funds so I apparently got that for free. Is the intent that for $4.99 you get the game plus DLC pack or did I get the DLC free because of a glitch?

GRACE: As an aside, you guys should really use price slashouts for all discounts, not just Plus discounts. This is basic marketing, really. For instance, Hero of Sparta is $0.99 marked down from something like $6.99, I believe. Why isn’t that indicated? For permanent price drops, mark them as “New Price” or something similar for a couple weeks.

  • When will dead nation come out?Cause ive been saving up my money for it and its taking a long time for it.

  • I remember back in 2007 when weekly PSN updates consisted of like 2 trailers and an avatar. We’ve come a long way. Good update!

  • Just a thought, but I think maybe the problem with the Monkey Island bundle (and Mega Man 9) not showing up for some people might have something to do with whether you downloaded the demo / trial version at some point in the past. Mega Man 9 and one of the MI games uses unlock keys in conjuction with the demo and the store sometimes behaves unpredictably if you have the demo in your download list already. Maybe?

  • Oh never mind… I was charged for the Mega Man DLC after all.

  • Thanks for the update, Sony. I’m glad to see Maverick Hunter X is dropped in price, I’ll be downloading that one soon.

  • is megaman 9 available for PSP download?

  • @102 (Dbzlotrfan): Things usually stay in the store forever, but discounts might only last for a week before going back to regular price. Once you purchase something and it’s in your download list, you can delete it from your hard drive and re-download whenever you want.

One exception is things published in the Playstation Plus area. Some of those things are kept up indefinitely, but most are removed after a month. You can still access everything after they’ve been removed as long as you got them into your download list while they were up in the store. You can then re-download and use any free stuff for as long as you’re a Plus subscriber and you can use anything you bought at a Plus discount forever.

  • Lets FIFA 11!

  • PS1 Classics: trying to scrounge money out of the worst sellers (ignoring the few worth getting)

Would have prefered if you guys stuck with the weekly Plus updates like during the first month instead of this every other week crap.

  • Great update this week. Things can only get better as PlayStation Move comes this weekend!

  • You guys listed the “No Heroes Allowed!” trailer as “No More Heroes Allowed! – Announcement Trailer”. Unless there really a No More Heroes trailer, in that case it would be for a U.S. release of No More Heroes: Hero’s Paradise, would it not?

  • ….there’s really nothing there I want…

  • coll

  • PS+ members, we got free stuff and an exclusive demo last week, we get free stuff and an exclusive demo next week (and possibly a beta) so it’s only fair that we don’t get anything this week. Stop whining and thankful for what u have. Geeze.

  • Sup with the black and white printer though?

  • wow. that is a lot of content. great discounts, great releases, demos, minis, PSone games, and more. I for one will probably be picking up some castlevania for myself. I have already played through SotN about 200% but i always have time for another play-through :P

  • Shocking, a decent update. More stuff might come next week because of Move.

  • No just no, I bought monkey island last night for 9.99 and a few hours later you put on sale? epic fail…

  • great update- but i can’t help but wonder where Blacklight: Tango Down is.

  • Guess who’s picking up Mega Man 9? This guy!

  • @ Grace

I’ve sat by and just read the updates since I got my PS3, but after being burned by this same issue over and over, it’s time to speak up.

When you make these updates you hardly ever tell us what goes with what system. Today’s example are all the titles under the bold “Updates”. So when I see “Mega Man Maverick Hunter X – Sale (now $9.99, original price $19.99)” I think, “Alright, something I actually want for my PS3.” but when I go to purchase it it turns out to be PSP only. This could be rectified simply by stating what platform this is available for. Not doing so makes you look like someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, which I’m not entirely sure ISN’T the case.

tl;dr – Fix this simple but annoying issue or I will stop buying anything from PSN and instead come in here to heckle you every Tuesday until you do fix it.

    • OK, thanks. We’ll try to clarify platform in future blog posts for the updates (when the content is combined in one section).

  • Decent update but ya should of made the eye pet demo compatible with ps3s that do not yet have Move. I’ve been waiting a YEAR to try it out but I dont have 50 dollars to spend on a Demo, seems a bit ridiculous to me to offer a demo only some of your loyal customers can play. Also I am having issues with Home Rewards gained through Red Dear Redemption. Grace can you look into this for me. MMMMKay thanks.

  • LOL @ 100 – HairyToes

It gives me a chuckle too. will they ever learn.

  • Solid!

  • Still pretty weak on the PSOne Classics Releases. But that aside, this is one of the stronger updates in awhile for sure.

  • will we have killzone 3, infamous 2, and resistance avatars soon?? i dont know why ALL ps3 exclusive games dont have avatars we can use as our defaults or that we can buy..

  • *sigh* I got a disappointed kid here..we gotta wait for the move to try out the eye pet demo…other than that cool update!!

  • This is THE best update ever!

  • Not to be greedy but is there anyway that the special 15 years sales would last a little longer? I was on my way home to buy Suidoken today and then it was gone… I didn’t realize it would be just a week to week deal. I figured things would gradually get added until it was over….

  • well i got Phantasy Star Portable 2 already , im about to download Gladiator Begins , free Little big planet costume and i think thats it for my PSP GO
on my ps3 im going to download tumble, Ratquec sports demos , not Eyepet demo because i already have the game but i cant play it yet because its playstation move compatible only and thats it for my ps3 , very good update

  • Protoman avatar. FTW.

  • Hello Grace!

I would like to know when Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep will be avaliable on PSN for PSPGo users.

    Thanks in advance

  • hopefully get a mega man 9 & 10 bundle soon now that would be awesome!!

  • Sorry to see that we won’t be getting Sports champ demo :(
