Hi everyone, as we announced previously, the PS3 system software update (v3.50) is adding support for Blu-ray 3D Disc Playback, and it will be released shortly.
Additional new features in the 3.50 update include:
- Facebook Integration: Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have deep interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access their information on Facebook – including user name, profile, photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.
- Grief Reporting Function: Users can send claim reports directly from the XMB for any inappropriate messages they receive from other PlayStation Network users. This feature is accessible from the option menu of the messages list in the FRIENDS category.

Cool, but once again where is cross game chat? I am beginning to feel like Sony is ignoring the wants of the consumer. I mean the programing can’t be that hard, the other system has had it for awhile.

@6 firmware update that takes an hour sounds like you have one slow connection they don’t long for me at all, good firmware update with the facebook extention and grief report for stupid text spammers

thats great that the Full 3D support is coming as is the Facebook intgration, which to me is useless, but others will love it I’m sure.
But what REALLY makes me happy, is that NOW, I can FINALLY report all the morons and thieves who keep sending me messages saying, REPLY WITH NAME AND PASSWORD AND EARN $35 in PS Network cash, and all the other ones “claiming” to be a SONY PS3 Employee whose offering great deals and BS.
THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THAT OPTION TO REPORT THEM, BECAUSE, HONESTLY, I AM SICK AND TIRED OF GETTING THESE PS “SPAM” MESSAGES!!

@ all of you that want those classics (especially rpgs)not on the store~ just simply- learn japanese, create a japanese email(don’t even think of including “aol” in that), shop around for japanese PSN cards online order them/wait for them in mail…download istant satisfaction!!

The name changing option on the Japanese PSN doesnt work like you think. You can change your name sure, but only on your screen. When you message someone it still comes under the old name even after you’ve changed it.
The grief reporting option is a welcomed addition. Thanks.
But now how will I find out how to get into the Halo 4 beta on my PS3!?

so i take it the network is at least up and running after the down time i hope i dont get that error code again because I haven’t been able to fix it
few quick questions:
1- Is the store still updating today?
2- Other region get a music app does US get it also?
