Digital Comics Store Update

Grace Chen's Avatar + Posted by Grace Chen on Oct 06, 2010 // Director, PlayStation Store

Hi everyone – Here’s this week’s update for PlayStation Store Digital Comics.

This is one hell of an update actually, and we’ve got it all this week – brand new publishers, brand new comics, and more of your favorites!

Digital_Comics_Store_10_06_10

Wonder Woman returns with four new comics this week, issues #1 to #4 of Wonder Woman Vol.3, otherwise known as the “Who is Wonder Woman?” story arc. Amazon warrior Diana is missing, leaving Donna Troy in charge of the Wonder Woman mantle. But what happens if Diana returns, and when you have two Wonder Women?

We are also thrilled to introduce new publisher Twistory, who this week bring you three excellent new series: 13 Chambers, a beautifully illustrated fantasy/western series set in 1860s Far West; Dust, another little gem set in a WW2 gone wrong under the influence of new alien technology; and Dust Wars, sultry sci-fi with more of Paolo Parente’s beautiful art.

We also have more Batman for you (#664 to #666, in other words Batman & Son #6 to #8), more Silent Hill with all four issues of Silent Hill: Sinner’s Reward, 1960s Iron Man with five issues of Iron Man (1968), and much more.

Here is the full list of releases:

  • 13 Chambers #1
  • Atomic Robo Vol.4 #1
  • Batman #664 – #666
  • Betty #185
  • Black Cherry Bombshells #1
  • DMZ #24 & #25

How come you never fix blog posts with bad HTML that muck up the blog?

The Costume quest post has bad HTML that makes it so nothing below the video can be seen on the blog. This happens all the time and you guys always ignore all the heads ups people give you and we have to sit and wait for enough blog posts to be posted after so that the offending post goes into the archives.

Fix them quicker please.

Another week, another update, however no one from Sony responds to any questions in these posts. Makes you wonder how serious Sony is about really moving the Comics Store forward. Tons of potential, but every week the same questions are asked – PS3, manga, and Canadian Store.

I would be nice for Sony to say … PS3 – yes, we are working on this, stay tuned … or nope, not going to happen in the next 12+ months. Same for the others.

Come on Sony, give us a little more info and support your active community!

Not going to happen in the next 12+ months. There’s your answer. Not that they don’t have the ability to open the comic store for PS3; they just won’t because reading isn’t something practical or comfortable to do in a TV screen.

Because there are almost only negative comments above, I’d like you to know, Sony, that I completely love the comic store and I wish I could spend more on my digital comic collection. I hope it gets full support from my fellow PSP users. Although they’re right about the restriction to other countries. Please work on that.

Finally, if it isn’t much to ask, a little more Sandman, please :)

Nice update!
