We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
We’ll have more information for you in the near future.

That´s bloody it… I´m buying a XBOX360 with Forza Motorsport and PGR never to return. I bought my PS3 three years ago to the promise of GT5, every winter and atumn you guys have disappointed me – for THREE YEARS. In the meen time PS3 hasn´t had a single quality racing game (Shift has been the best so far). Now it´s gone to far, this time I actually belived it was coming.
Every normal gamedesigner would have released at least two games in this time. Look at COD, they deliver quality every year… At some point you just deliver and start a new project, can´t keep working on 4 year old code in 2010.
It’s prolly delayed cause of the ps3 Jailbreak… they need to code it again so it cannot be ripped and played on modded ps3’zz
with new vegas, black ops, brotherhood, and whatever else all releasing in this window the delay is less about a finished product then it is about day 1 sales. a december 14th release will have much higher day 1 sales yet leave time for holiday buyers as well.
in PTOM blackops was listed as above GT5 as most anticipated game. i doubt PP liked that much.

got to say, i am not excited about this news. i was really looking forward to the game, especially after playing the demo thats available at most of the PS3 demo kiosk(walmart & gamestop have them fyi). when playing those games, i did see the need for better Anti-aliasing because it was a big jaggy in places, but i didn’t really expect to see it delayed for the second time in NA(i say 2nd because there was never any official release date in the NA until this past E3). i really hope this delay is only a matter of weeks and not months. i would like to have something to be able to buy for this holiday.

wow really?! likes that’s a big surprise, tell us something we’re not expecting next time, it’s only the 4th or 5th time it happens. this game has been delayed so many times by the time it comes out all these kids will be driving real cars and you’ll have an entire new fan base.

I’m not disappointed at all because I understand there are hiccups in the gaming industry. However, Sony should strive to meet release dates with their videogames as accurately as their movies.
They are just angering their fans.
Either way I’m a PlayStation fan, and either way I’m buying Gran Turismo 5, but this is unacceptable as a company.

Terrible news. I was well on my way to getting this game on the cheap thanks to coupons but now they’ll have to be put towards something else. It also throws my finely tuned to buy/to play/to finish gaming list out of whack. :|
On the other hand I appreciate PD not shipping it out with a mandatory day one patch waiting for me when I get home with the game. There’s something to be said for bringing a game home and being able to pop it in an play it right away without going through any hubub like patching and installing.

Alternate Scenario…. OMG IT TOOK THIS LONG AND ALL WE GET IS BUGS AND GLITCHES AHHHH I AM SO MAD THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT! blah blah blah. Guys, these things happen…Yes they should not have given a date if not 100% sure, Yes it has been far to long. Would you rather wait 5 more minutes for a burger that was made to perfection or a sloppy unsatisfying one now? Same thing, it’s a few weeks and we all know there are plenty of games for us to be playing this holiday season and it’s going to be that much more awesome when it comes out. They want to be sure its perfect and sometimes it takes time…
it’s still coming this holiday so people shouldn’t trip too much. it will probably be in December, not that big a deal with so many other games coming out this season

That does it. I’m pulling my collectors edition pre-order and will no longer be getting this game at launch (If it ever launches). You pushed it too far PD. And Sony, you need to sack up and whip PD into shape.

And coming out for initial release day for the PS4 GT5… Oh wait we don’t have any damn clue when we will release this. Sony you need to get your act together. First you release GT5 prologue at full retail value to buy you time which in my opinion that was nothing more then an over priced demo disk. This game is literally getting as ridiculous as “Duke Nukem”. All I can say is when you do decide to release this you need to go big or go home. because after all the delays and leg pulling. You really need to do something big and special for your fans that have been patiently waiting. Here is an idea for you to make up for you mistakes any DLC for this game needs to be Free.
So, first it appears a news in Russia that the game will be delayed, then comes the confirmation that it’s only for Russia and not Global. And now they decided that they should delay again. What is this? For me it was the last drop I lost my patitent and interest in the game.
Perhaps the delay comes down to the developer’s scruples as to whether or not to publish the game until all issues are resolved…
Consider that EA (IMO) released Need for Speed SHIFT before it was finished, and waited until some 7 months after release to fix the game’s several gameplay issues – with a software update. Admitedly, SHIFT is the best sim racer out there for now, but…

I hope the delay is worth it, however I will be buying the game regardless of when it is released. At this point, the delay makes me feel like SCEA is toying with my emotions… for it’s own enjoyment *sob*(cry).

GT5 has been delayed because of its own awesomeness.
Reports indicate that the game is so awesome that Polyphony Digital have had to employ Chuck Norris to personally hold the laser when burning the game on to each and every BluRay disc, thus delaying the production process.
“I just had to do my bit to help Yamauchi-san with the GT5 production” Chuck stated when we spoke to him, “The game is going to be incredibly awesome, so opposing the production just wasn’t really an option. I mean, I don’t think the universe really wants to know what would happen if an unstoppable force actually met an immoveable object”
GT5 is expected to be released later this holiday season.

with no date, I’ll be moving most of my collectors edition money over to other games. I’ll still keep the pre-order, but with the bare minimum.

If Anyone here even vaguely glanced at GT’s actual official Kazonuri run site (Which works surprisingly well from a ps3!!!) You’ll suspiciousley not find a single page claiming November the Anythingth… All it says in recent stuff is, November. Without a number. So it’ll be Very short delays… Maybe the master copy disc was dropped behind a heavy and screwed to the wall bookcase, and the delay is only for this… XD

Wow you guys screwed up big time. Why is the game getting delayed again? What else could you possibility add to the game 20 days before the launch? GTplanet.net has over 140,000 users who play GT religiously. Are we getting a demo or something soon? I mean someone in Europe already got his hands on the one from Best Buy and Target and Game Stop and has been posting videos already from it with his G27 hooked up. Give us something till “December” at least. Very disappointed at this point Sony, you guys are dropping the ball and letting Red Rings win.
Ridiculous!!! I cancelled my preorder. Instead of adding new features that nobody really cared for (karts, semi track editing etc etc…) you should release the game. Mr Yamauchi, I lost all the respect I had for you. Shame on you. I’m going to buy two games today and I will buy GT5 when it comes out (if it comes out) only if I will have the money or when I will have the money…

i say if you need another year to complete the game and make it bug free perfect, do it. I rather wait them have it rushed out the door just to beat a dead-line. In the end everyone will forget about the delays and just have fun playing gt.
But remember if game is released and it doesn’t run like it suppose too, people will remember & i guarantee you can cancel any other future gt’s. This could be the end of days for polyphony digital.
My fingers are crossed because i know the team is hard at work trying to make this the best gt ever. I am a fan and i do have all gt’s (all) and with every game i have seen graphics & game improvements. I see polyphony digital climbing the mountain and they will reach the peak for the world to see.

Think most of it has to do with releasing in the same month as Assasin’s Creed and Call of Duty.
Maybe Yamauchi-san should spend less time at trade shows and racing cars and more time programming his game.
Way to encourage them station3fever.. Delay a game long enough and people will stop caring. Depending on how long this delay is, GT5 may take a huge hit sales wise. If it falls to an already crowded 2011… well just be happy that NPD numbers aren’t going to be public anymore.
At least make GT 1 – 4 available on PS3 while we wait. That would be a nice gesture on your part Sony.
